September 21, 201015 yr Member I had forgotten about ME on PC. I only watched a bit, but I will admit he certainly had a LOT more energy. I get that john is meant to be a quiet, moody guy, but he really could add a bit more of that energy to the role...
September 21, 201015 yr Member FL called Dani Todd Manning as a teen and I think that's what the writers were going for... that deep well of rage and hair trigger temper with major chip on her shoulder. That was early Todd, he was constantly flying off the handle too. The problem is Dani isn't Todd, she wasn't abused all her childhood and twisted up with supressed rage. There's a sweetness and shy, more vulnerable side that writers only this summer started to explore. That's the side that came out today in court, afraid to hurt either Todd or Ross. I persoanlly thought she was brought on as a replacement Starr. Starr was always destined to be the female version of Todd, but as she grew up, they morphed her into a heroine and the rebellious and bad behaviors she had went away. I saw Dani as their shot at writing Todd with a troublesome teen daughter and thats what we got with the firecracker as she was introduced. I hope they keep her a little dark bc I see her turning into what Starr is today. I wish they'd give her more of a reason to be angry bc she's gotten too sweet
September 21, 201015 yr Member OLTL 1997-2010. Shrieking, bellowing, silent screams, et al. They tend to have her do this in dramatic situations. Even the show has said Dani yelling = her parents. Remember when she was shrieking and being rude at the diner and Destiny said it reminded her of someone. +1.
September 21, 201015 yr Member The problem with making Dani angry is that Kelli Missal is probably a representative for a lot of the teen girl viewers that might be interested in watching the show. I think KA was as well, although perhaps not as much now. I would guess they're both reasons why the show has good teen viewership. So what to do with their characters? Todd is the show's leading man, so you can't have them angry at him because they'd have to be written as being in the wrong. The show tends to have them react to bad things happening to them and also put them in some type of fated insta-love stories.
September 21, 201015 yr Member I am truly enjoying this side of Clint, just wish more of this storyline was on each week. Indeed. Hopefully OLTL won't ruin him by making him TOO evil though.

Dani was angry at Todd for almost a year and only Todd seemed to find her rage over the top. Everyone else understood why she wouldn't accept a rapist like Todd easily for a dad. It's John McBain who is the leading man no one can be angry with b/c he's always the heroic guy in the right.
September 22, 201015 yr Member Indeed. Hopefully OLTL won't ruin him by making him TOO evil though. As soon as Eli's finally gone, he'll be the next to go all Snidely Whiplash
September 22, 201015 yr Member Dani was angry at Todd for almost a year and only Todd seemed to find her rage over the top. Everyone else understood why she wouldn't accept a rapist like Todd easily for a dad. That turned into Ross manipulating her. The main emphasis was on while Dani might have understandable objections, she would ultimately accept Todd. The days when any of Todd's kids can have valid objections to him seem over. I think they won't go there again after the stuff where he got ugly with Starr.
September 22, 201015 yr Member Carl, silly, that's cuz despite all of Todd's myriad faults, he LOVES LOVES LOVES his kids with some kind of all conquering pure love.
September 22, 201015 yr Member As soon as Eli's finally gone, he'll be the next to go all Snidely Whiplash With Matthew as his bushy eyebrowed sidekick.
September 22, 201015 yr Member ABC.com is running a poll on who should get custody of Danielle. The choices are Todd, Blair or Starr
September 22, 201015 yr Author Member I personally think then that Jack should get custody of Danielle. I vote for Sam!
September 22, 201015 yr Member With Matthew as his bushy eyebrowed sidekick. and Jessica as the blonde idiot, who constantly needs saving
