AMC: Two actors let go

Damn it. I'm one of the few fans of Mayfield and Scott. What a dumb move. Good riddance to Marissa though. Why can't Krystal go with her?

I like Mayfield. I'm not sure Scott was the right fit for him but I like the actor and I think he did good work. I wish him the best. Bringing back Forbes as Scott would send this show off the hoyay chart with JR and Asher.

Marissa is just an epic fail all the way around.

So true. Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

I liked Mayfield, too, but I agree that he wasn't really leading man material. He especially wasn't suited for the part of a schemer who stole an idea from a dying man.

Thanks. I think he was the last Scott I liked, although I haven't seen a lot of Mayfield. Generally the character has never been written for. I think Cosgrove basically just stood around for two years.

They also have it on their main breaking news page, to.

Allen, Mayfield Out at AMC

Digest has learned that Brittany Allen (Marissa) and Adam Mayfield (Scott) have been axed — casualties, according to an AMC source, of the show's plan to take the characters in a different direction. Both stars joined the show in April 2009. No last air dates were yet available, but expect both actors to air well into October, as Marissa makes a major move against JR, who in turn makes one against Scott. For more, see next issue.

Even though I'm not watching much AMC anymore this is great news, Allen was horrible. I will never understand how she got the part in the first place.

Thanks. From todays show, it looks like its obvious the major mvoe she makes is suing for custody. I think she might lose and then run away with AJ. That might be used to get her off the show while they look for a recast and then bring in the new girl when Marissa is brought back to town

JR and Annie don't need Scott and Marissa by any means. so the quad is over, was it really ever a quad though?

I think JR and Annie on their own will be able to muster up enough drama without dull and duller.

J.R. and Annie in a bubble is gonna have us reaching for our nerve pills. As long as there's someone to break up the tension and neuroses, I just don't see them functioning as your average romantic couple. They are going to burn out on their own. Just my opinion.

It's about time. They characters are really boring. Now if only BE and CM would be let go.

Pretty sure they're being recast, so don't get your hopes up too high.

Hmmmmm. Thought this was interesting. A couple of tweets from Jamey Giddens today:

AMC appears to be in the midst of a bloodbath. Maybe that's what all the advanced network notes are about?

I hear Kreizman and Swajeski's scripts are being BLED on by the brass. Ruh roh.

Good riddance to Allen, but I didn't mind Mayfield.

And for the love of Erica Kane, please let the ATWT actor coming in as NuScott be anyone but Daniel Cosgrove.rolleyes.gif
