Margaret Michaels replaced Victoria for a few episodes. I posted a clip of her on this thread.

We never saw her die like Bobby. She said that she didnt want to go back with them only to see them suffer again since she only had a few months to live(she was going to die anyways from her accident). And thats the last we heard of Pam.

Yeah

Exactly. Those stories are always so tricky and usually given to very sympathetic characters who look like total selfish c u next Tuesdays for ditching their beloved children. I'm thinking of AMC's Dixie as well.

Cheap, Pam had plastic surgery after her crash but also knew that she was dying. That's why she didn't want to go back to Dallas, presumably, not to cause Christopher, Cliff, and maybe even Bobby, the pain of seeing her die instead of just telling them the truth and resting on the strength of her family. They could always say that Pam survived and had more surgery to look like her old self (once we see VP's well-preserved visage, that won't be too hard to swallow).

This is probably what Soapsuds posted:

To make things even more complicated, they hired the same actress to play a Pam lookalike to catch Bobby's eye.

the thing is though that Dallas hasnt been on the air in nearly 2 decades (not including the reuinion stuff). They couldnt pretend as if she and Chris had a relationship in all that time? Now that he's grown and near 30, she isnt needed, but I wish they had acknowledged that she was a mother to him growing up bc really they had plenty of leeway to do so

BTW, thanks for the clips. Never saw that woman in the role

You know, you make an interesting point, because if they wanted to, they could have been really cagey about Pam and referred to her in shady ways that didn't tip dead or alive. For all we know, Pam could have come back a couple years ago and it's a very strained "We don't really talk about it" type situation and she just pops up at Southfork one episode totally stunning the original audience, like, "Wait, WHAT!?" But now we're in a position where if she returns they've got to play all that backstory.

LOL. Principal Secret does wonders for Pam Ewing. Love it.

I don't have a hard time imagining it either. Victoria Principal is a very, very smart person. I can see it now, all the bathrooms in the show have Principal Secret products on the vanities, billboards in city shots feature Principal Secret ads...if that's what it takes to get her back, absolutely.

Really, Victoria Principal would be an amazing shot in the arm for this show and I think everyone behind the scenes knows it.

Has anyone tried watching this on TNT.com? They are asking for my cable provider username and i.d. and I don't know what the hell they're talking about or how I go about geting one.wacko.png I knew the day would come when all of these cable stations would stop putting their stuff online without making you jump through hoops. I wonder if A&E online is still so user friendly with its Intervention and Hoarders reruns.

Leslie to Kat: "The only branch that I want is the one that goes across your behind for your insolence" LOL...if Leslie was her stepmother, she'd have whooped her disobedient azz
    • I really love Chelsea's eyerolls.  At Dani last week, and at Hayley today.
    • I thought that was hilarious too! This was at the point they started to mellow out Lisa....I wonder if Fulton fought this or if she liked that her character could change. It seems now Joyce is getting all of Lisa's trouble making stories, and now Natalie has become the vixen slutting around town. I would love to see some Natalie videos.

      Yes, Nicole. DRAG HER!

    •  Yeah, he is still dressed like Martin. He looks great, though.  Cute picture. Sober up, cause we need the tea.
    • Well, Claire did rig Rick's test results, but it was to flunk. They actually managed to get his correct results back after they were thrown into Cedar's furnace...I think? Everyone knew Claire changed them and Rick passed so that rewrite never made sense.   I agree. Pratt always seems "edgy" on screen (and her Locker Room interview prooved that it came from her personality.) I liked Claire causeing trouble and love Meta ringing her beads. Its just too bad that Abby left and they kinda just forgot Claire existed.
    • Oh so they did sleep together. The retcon was just the medical boards? That makes sense. I think Susan Pratt, while a good actress, was just an unlikeable presence onscreen and soaps wrote to that most of the time. There was some potential for more with her when she returned in that stint, as Pratt was at least interesting to watch and caused some conflict for the stifled Bauers. Instead of pairing her with Alan and then disappearing I might have had her hook up with Danny. I think there was a lot of flirtation with Bolger's Philip, but they never crossed the line.
    • I haven't seen Melchior in the role, but it would be astounding if she's worse than Linn. Her rivalry with Stephanie was sidelined IMO because Linn was one of the few actors who didn't have chemistry with, nor raise her game, when paired with Susan Flannery. To be fair, she did show some signs of life in scenes opposite Darlene Connelly, but way too little too late. It feels like Bell finally woke up after the Thorne switchover and sidelined the Kristin character with Mick to 1 or 2 appearances a week. As a result, the show improved by leaps and bounds after she was inexplicably at the center of the show for most of 1989. Margo is so much more enjoyable when not tied to that albatross. Even Clarke is watchable with less Kristin interaction. She can't exit stage left soon enough. As for the new Thorne, I agree that Norcross feels like a Forrester a lot more than Thrachta, even if the latter is a better actor.
