I think you are being a tad too critical Carl lol though im not saying your wrong in the slightest. Could they have done better casting? Hell yes but I think its working so far. Im trying to have an open mind. Ill drive myself nuts being overly critical of what we cant control.

The problem I have with the casting is I feel like they cast bland, bad actors on purpose, as some type of "style" or whatever the word may be. There are some producers who don't want to see acting, they want to see very limited posing (this is one of the things which killed Dynasty). So they just went for boring people who are lucky to get their lines out, instead of the vibrant talent the original Dallas had. If it works, it works, but it means the characters are irrelevant and just trapped behind a glaze.

I think the show has done a good job setting up style over substance. The characters are meaningless, the actors cutouts. It works for now, and for their sake I hope that it keeps working, because Brewster, Henderson, Strong, and Metcalfe aren't going to learn to act or get charisma anytime soon.

So far, I'm loving what I'm seeing, but that is because I know JR will be making his appearances. I'm loving Duffy too. However, I must agree that the 4 and Brenda Strong could NOT sell this show! No matter who's writing, it would be impossible! They are too weak and have no charisma. Henderson is fine enough, but he's coming off as kinda skeevy and clueless. He's trying too hard. This and the writers need to pull back just a bit.

Personally I am loving the actor playing John Ross. I think he's fabulous, and I actually don't mind the actress playing Elena. I don't care for Jesse Metcalfe or the actress playing his wife.

How was it? I keep seeing bad reviews for this with JR being the only reason to watch

So far so good. There is still a little work to be done but I'm sold.

It looks like Christopher's wife Rebecca is trying to scheme to get money out of him/his family. I definitely think it's possible that she could have been behind that email to Elena. Though I do think that she may have developed genuine feelings for Christopher in the process.

Also I think that John Ross may have some genuine feelings for Elena. He seems to care what she thinks of him. If so I think that's interesting and makes things more complex, especially since Christopher still has feelings for her.

I like JR's look at the end and I think the stuff with Marta not really being Marta, that guy that JR went to visit's daughter interesting. This show has a lot of turns and plots in it, I like it so far.
