Wouldn't it be something if that was actually a recasting call for Christopher. tongue.png

I know he's too old, but my mind went straight to Mark Consuelos and I shuddered.

Cidre's Tv Guide interview already revealed that and also that they're casting Ann & Harris' daughter who will be played by a blonde actress. She also mentioned Abby Fairgate, Gary & Valene Ewing when they asked her if there were any past characters she was interested in being back. Interestingly enough...all from Knots Landing.

Cynthia Cidre is absolutely not right for the job. She can't write good soap. Her failure to utilise Linda Gray effectively said it all.

I agree with you, but not because she can't utilize Linda Gray. Sue Ellen should've been written off and forgotten about probably in '85. Sue Ellen became played out once Linda Gray got more power and wanted to turn Sue Ellen into a strong woman. Sue Ellen was a gold-digging social climber who also cheated on JR, battled alcoholism, etc. She should NEVER be turned into a saint. The moment they did that the character was no longer interesting and was written off. The same thing is happening with the new series. Linda Gray kept telling them she wants a strong powerful Sue Ellen, aka a BORING Sue Ellen, so they aren't inspired to write for her.

I think in order for Sue Ellen to be viable, they should've never reunited her with JR on the original, then put her with Cliff and LEAVE her with Cliff. That would strengthen the Barnes family and also give her a new lease on life. Then with this new series she'd have an even more interesting role to play.

Elena is getting a _______________ in Season 2.

Wait, wait, don't tell me: Elena is getting a...storyline...?

That's it, right? That's gotta be it!

Sue Ellen was played out on the original. She's boring. The way they chose to have her evolve wasn't natural, so she's no longer interesting. The writers don't have the passion to write for her. JR is the breakout star of the new series, the character had fire until the end so you're inspired to write for him. When you talk to Patrick Duffy he wants to be challenged as Bobby, so you're inspired to write whatever u want with Bobby. When you ask Linda Gray she says NO drinking, NO affairs, NO scheming. This is a soap opera. I do think once she saw the lack of screentime she's back-tracking and saying she'll accept even an alcoholism story.

At this point Sue Ellen should be written like a Katherine Chancellor or Dorian Lord. Sue Ellen was never a saint or a strong business woman.

Even if Linda Gray asked the show to make Sue Ellen a crack whore, Sue Ellen still wouldn't be interesting, because no one on the show is. The only one is JR, and that's because of Larry Hagman. Cidre writes duds and casts duds.

Rumors/Spoilers for season two. This comes from a fan on Ultimate Dallas who claims to know an insider. Ms Ann, the expect for Ultimate Dallas says that some of this is true, but one returning female isn't mentioned and the bit about Victoria Principal returning is false. Apparently something happened behind the scenes where she will never be allowed back.

BTW, this doesn't include story spoilers, just which former characters are in talks to appear and who is in talks to play new roles.

Audrey Landers is confirmed to appear in a few episodes of Season 2.

Susan Howard is negotiating for a few episodes as well.

William Levy auditioned for the role of Drew (Elena's bro) but no word yet if he definitely got the part.

Katie Cassidy auditioned for the role of Emme. No word yet.

Ken Kerchival will be in more episodes in Season 2. Charlene Tilton and Steve Kanaly will also be back.

Joan Van Ark and Ted Shackleford are negotiating a couple of episodes.

Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy and Linda Gray will appear in all 15 episodes!!!

Producers are trying hard to have Victoria Principal appear in the Season 2 finale with a small story arc in Season 3 to close out her character for good. She will not be a regular.

William Levy? Another boring, lifeless presence. I guess he fits.

It would be nice to see Susan Howard.

I think that date is to coincide with the second season premiere, otherwise they'd give it a Christmas release like the rest of the world.
