Thanks for posting that. For some reason I had remembered it as them showing her firing on people. I would have enjoyed that even more

I still never understood how Julia became such a criminal mastermind, but it was a good surprise twist.

I'd forgotten Vicky was still there for the third season -- I guess she must have left early or midway? Her husband started sleeping with his ex wife in the third season I guess. I thought it was the second.

Joe Lambie managed to be dull and hot at the same time.

I remember the cliffhanger vividly. I was shocked to find out Julia had murdered Melissa's dad. I remember in Season 1 when she didnt care for FC. So her now caring about Lance losing everything was out of character. The twist like you said was good. I dont recall what season Vicky left. I thought she wasnt needed. I hated her recast Donna Sparks..or whatever her name was...lol

And yes..Joe Lambie was hot.........

Yeah I also thought it was out of character. I would have believed it more if she had gone on a killing spree because she wanted out of Angela's thumb. And all that about her meticulous plans to frame Cole, I don't think she would have done that.

Dana Sparks. Later to bore everyone on Passions.

I wish I could see that scene again where Angela tells Chase that his mother is dead, when everyone had been told to keep that from him for the sake of his health. Dead Lana Turner and Robert Foxworth in pain -- Jane Wyman must have enjoyed that!

In a later season when Julia returns reformed as a Nun....she mentions to Angela that she went crazy because she was tired of being under Angela's thumb.

Dana Sparks was awful on FC and Passions.

Ha....I did hear JW and Lana Turner didnt get along...the same for Robert....Though I also heard Robert was difficult to work with.

I read somewhere too that Jane and Mel didnt get along and that's why he was killed off. I didnt hear anything about Simon. Julia's later appearances were good too. At the end of Season 3 she is presumed dead during a fire at FC and eveyone boards a plane to release Julia's ashes ...forgot the place..and thus the plane crash for season 3. Later she returns very much alive explaining she escaped the fire by going underneath the house..some secret pathway...

Interesting that Henry Stern and Stephen Black were writers for Falcon Crsst during the second season. Too bad their work at ATWT sucked.

I've read in interviews that the reason they didn't fight to keep Julia on screen more is because Abby Dalton was difficult actress to work with. It's a shame because I thought she had a lot to offer. I liked the crazy twist and recall them redeeming her, but it all got shot to hell. I think the first season (and probably only) that I loved was the fourth one. I currently own the first 6 seasons and did a rewatch. That one had a gothic nazi plot I enjoyed, Laura Johnson at Terri and Kate Vernon as a love interest for Lance (his best ever). This show never really found an identity. It was constantly changing but had good periods.

It's the definition of popcorn tv. I enjoyed it and do wanna finish it one day. I especially want to review that final season which is so controversial.

I did a rewatch recently and you sum the series up pretty perfectly, Chris.

The show is at its best for seasons 3-4. Best being a very low bar but it's at the very least entertaining, twisty, campy. There's no depth of character but at least the story driven 'events' seem to have some impact. Season 5 was absolute boredom and the rest of the series a complete mess bar Season 9. It's a genuinely risky, entertaining season of TV - probably stronger in the first half than the second but still great stuff. I know some diehard fans get their knickers in a twist about it with Maggie dying etc etc but it was such a poor series generally that I don't know why the shift in tone actually matters to them.

Still watching Season 2 and was surprised to see Brenda Dickson on Falcon Crest....lol I am not sure if she was on Y&R yet. She had a scene with Abby Dalton as she went looking for her husband.

I'm trying to remember the stories once again since I havent seen them in a long time. So Jacquline is Chase and Richard's mother?? So that would make them brothers but in a later season cliffhanger...season 6 I believe Angela finds out Richard is her son. So that would make them cousins. Richard was stolen from Angela but I forgot from who.

And Melissa's baby Joseph is Cole's. What ever happened to Joseph?? Did he leave with Cole? I can't recall.

    • Yes, I think that is the most likely situation.  TPTB were unhappy with the offer(s) they got from the tourism board in Finland, and decided the trip was going to be too expensive for P&G/NBC to finance alone.   I would also speculate a similar situation occurred a few years later with the planned location shoot in Egypt, which was also cancelled after the storyline had already started, and changed to Arizona.

    • In my usual account on my most used video hosting site with the video title  DAYS 1-8-15 Will & Paul Sex This is an edit I began when I was first teaching myself to edit & at that time I couldn't make it do what I wanted it to do. I pulled it up & finished it this morning.
    • Or Megan is shot as retaliation for Dave's unpaid gambling debts...while Julie confesses she's the biological mother of Special Guest Star Barry Bostwick's little boy.
    • Finland seemed such an odd choice for a location shoot. ATWT went to Greece and later Spain while GL had Tenerife and there were others in that timeframe. But Finland not being a known tourist destination or offering the tropical/sunny atmosphere usually associated with location shoots seems off brand. Maybe they were negotiating a deal with a tourist association and it fell through.
    • I was talking about 1986, but the glimpses of 1982 are about the same.
    • I skimmed some of the 1982 synopses; Steve was planning on an opening an office in Finland, and I think Jim went there as part of the preparation. That probably was a big issue; AW had already gone to San Diego that year, with Rachel/Steve/Mitch. And to upstate NY with Pete and Diana. I wonder if upstate was as expensive lol  AW in 1982 has always fascinated me, because of how messy it was
    • That makes sense. What a messy time for the show. And any changes they made were mostly for the worse.
    • The transition from Neal to Adam was very abrupt, and to be honest my theory is that the character of Neal was designed so that we think he is super shady but then it turns out that he was on the side of good all along so Neal could have seamlessly become a hero of the BCPD with no need for Adam. I don't know whether Robert Lupone was hired on a short contract or if he was fired from a longer-term contract because they decided they wanted someone who was more of a leading man type, but I can imagine a scenario where Charles Grant did both the undercover Egyptian treasure/flirt with Victoria and the straighter-arrow day to day police investigation. But in my imagined scenario the MJ prostitution plotline probably doesn't exist and instead he probably continues a relationship with Victoria. The story seems very odd to me. I assume that David Canary would have been included only because a plotline where Steve is going to Finland in which only Rachel is seen in actual Finland seems unlikely. The synopses explicitly mention that Alice can't go with Steve but would whoever was playing Alice at that time have had the kind of clout to get the remote cancelled? It also strikes me as unlikely that production would have approved the expensive location shoot and *then* cancelled it only because of jealousy. It seems more likely that they rejected it because of the expense but then the jealousy part got added to the gossip speculatively, possibly because while it was being worked out they justified not including more castmembers because of the expense.
    • My comment has nothing to do with cast resentment, but does relate to the Finland location shoot: It may be a coincidence, but Jim Matthews died in Finland in 1982.  Hugh Marlowe's final episode was in April 1982, but the character probably didn't die untll May or June. (I'm unable to find the character's date of death, only the date of Marlowe's final episode). SInce Jim and Rachel had very little interaction after around 1975, it is unlikely Jim's death in Finland had any connection to Rachel's potential visit, but the choice to have Jim die in that location at that time is a head-scratcher.  I'm sure the writers sent Jim on an extended trip (and off-screen) because of Marlowe's illness.  But Finland seems like a strange choice considering the (then) recently cancelled location shoot.
