October 31, 2025Oct 31 Member Just got to Season 7. I've seen 5 episodes so far and for once, I agree with what most people on this message board have said. The show is clearly past its expiration date. Sticking with it for now. Why the heck is everyone going to Nevada? Are we gonna spend most of the season there instead of the Tuscany Valley?
December 2, 2025Dec 2 Member I managed to watch a few episodes of season 5 (the beginning of the end of the show) and I thought that Morgan F had a promising intro with her playing a lawyer that more than held her own against Richard...and I thought she had chemistry with the actor that played Greg. She was best when in lawyer mode, and I think the decision to play at DID story was kind of what caused her character to have a limited shelf life. And she seemed to play a slightly type of character than she had previously played on Flamingo Road and Paper Dolls... but it just seemed that she joined Falcon Crest right at the start of it's decline and not when it was in a creative high.

December 6, 2025Dec 6 Member I think it was lusty and bold at times. My main issue with FC, however, was that it never was consistent. Just when they were on a roll with something, it seems like someone would interfere and mess it all up. Moreover, it never could decide whether it wanted to be like DALLAS or like DYNASTY, so it tried to be both, which meant the tone would be all over the place.
December 9, 2025Dec 9 Member It should have stayed like a soapy Walton's instead of trying to be like Dallas or Dynasty.I still get a kick out of Earl Hamner saying his favorite scene was when Melissa told Lance after they married that she was pregnant and he wasn't the father. He may have said he didn't want Falcon Crest to be like Dallas/Dynasty.. but he certainly could write a guilty pleasure moment. Edited December 9, 2025Dec 9 by Soaplovers

I realize it's better to have them on DVD, but it's just getting harder to collect them, when you see the condition they're in when they arrive in your mailbox.
