I've always been amazed when watching old prime time soap promos how they'd give literally everything away for the cliffhangers - Melrose Place and Beverly Hills 90210 did this too.

The Final season did Susan Sullivan quit? Or did they just decide Maggie needed to die?

She quit.

Well, she quit, but it was a mutual decision. They needed to cut the costs and I guess Susan Sullivan saw a way out.

Oh Ok

I liked season 9 but it was so different and I missed Jane not being on the full season

Falcon Crest cast in a partial Star Games episode, otherwise known as thank God for Speedos.

First of all, her hair was SO eighties!!

It was interesting to hear the rumor about how Newhart would end, given the actual finale is in the annals as one of the more interesting series finales of all time.

I was in high school at this time, so not following Friday night television. IF they didn't know it was ending, did the finale feel like a finale?

It seemed like a finale to me, as everything was tied up. It still could have gone on, I suppose, but Angela's speech (written by Jane herself) really did feel like an end.

(the person who did the video added the pictures - the original is just rolling fields)

It was the only 1 of two soaps that didn't have a cliffhanger for its finale. I had a bittersweet ending for me.

Watching season 1 and surprised at different the show is.  It really is like the Waltons, but with vineyards.

I laugh that the late Earl hamner sidnt want the show to turn into another Dallas..yet is does just that in the 2nd season.

Seeing the first few episodes, im not thinking Julia's change into a psycho makes perfect sense.  The foundation was being laid out.

Emma and Julia are characters that would work today.

I love how Emma ends up as the more stable daughter. Plot twist!
