The character doesn't sound long term...Honestly, I love Robin. But I would have rather seen her back to GH.

They did that already & it did NOT work. And given that it's the same regime in charge there.....

Happy to have her on DAYS- hope they spring her & she gives Kate a run for her money with Stefano. And how ironic that I've been SCREAMING that Mattson should have played Y&R's Patty & now we'll get to watch her upstage Haiduk on a daily basis.

Endless possibilities. Sandy could return to town per request of Alice to take on the task of Chief of Staff to have a part of Tommy legacy in town. She could have demons she have to deal with such as her ex-husband Charles Woods being in town as the DA and he know her big secret. She been out of touch with the family for so long she could even share a past with John Black. Along with starting the new Horton wing to assist with Cancer patients she runs into her father's former fiancee.......Vivian! She could form a close friendship with Justin K. much to Adrienne's dismay. Just form a good backastory and there u have it. Same question can be asked about the return of Jennifer Horton.

Oh, don't get me, wrong, I'm curious to see how they work Jennifer back into the canvas because I suspect this might be troublesome. She has a husband and children, who may or might not return with her. A lot is going to depend on how they resolve this. "Days of our Lives" loves to play out the romantic triangles and happy marriages equate to low screen time (see Lexie and Abe). I'm curious to see if they can develop something for her outside the realm of falling in love with her cousin's husband as I assume Carly will soon move out of Bo's orbit.

On the otherhand, I have less misgivings than I would if someone like Sandy Horton were to return. Jennifer has played out storylines/scenes with Bo, Hope, Carly, Maggie, and Will and is more of a recent memory to the viewers. Jennifer's reaction to various threads as Will under Stephano's tutelage, Hope's recent criminal activity, Bo and Carly's relationship, Nathan and Stephanie's relationship, Maggie's growing closeness to Victor, and, I assume, her own children's involvement in the Salem scene. I just don't see a way to easily segue Sandy back into the canvas as you could Jennifer without making her the focal point of the story.

I think bringing a past character back simply to bring back the character is as foolish as introducing a new character without properly developing the story. The "Days of our Lives" audience hates when a new/returning character comes and dominates the story so I think the return would have to be organic and be benefical to the stories already playing on the canvas.

That said, I think Bill Horton could easily be brought back into the story, especially with Jennifer back in town, and add layers to several stories in a useful way that would enhance what is already there without monopolizing the story.

Oh Emm Gee, get over your Sandy Horton hard-on... history is out the window on soaps. They're on their last legs. Nobody who's tooling these dinosaurs give a flying fig about mining history from the 60's and 70's. We're lucky we got the grand send-off for Alice Horton that we did (although something about the sentiment was lacking... must be the lack of rehearsal soaps are allowed these days)

And a "+1" as many of you say to Jonathon's assessment of Mattson keeping her health insurance alive. That's all it is. They would've hired Beverlee McKinsey for the role but she's already dead.

P.S. For the Sandy Horton well-wishers, don't mean to sound crass... we just need to realize that digging into history and really delving into that kind of stuff and dead and done with.

I didn't think the last run was as bad as everyone else seemed to. I mean, her all of the sudden love for Luke was..odd, but I thought she was a rather fun character. I love Heather, and sure it wasnt on caliber with her original run, but I liked it.

And with Steve in a rather large role on the show now, I could see her coming back. Jamey at DaytimeConfidential had a GREAT idea about (this was several months ago), Heather returning, seeing how Lisa was using Steve to make Patrick jealous, so she murdered Lisa and framed Patrick. She thinks Robin is fit for Steve, but when Robin continues to yearn for Patrick, she kidnaps Emma and attacks Mac to teach her a lesson...I think it could be a fun, murder storyline.

And I think they could bring back Jeff to the show. Whether it be Richard Dean Anderson or a recast. I could see a story between Heather, Jeff, Steven, maybe even Monica. Then of course Elizabeth could be thrown in the mix, and possibly even Sarah and Audrey (if she were willing to appear again.)

I wouldn't say that. With the right writer and someone who study the history well characters like Sandy Horton, Alex Marshall, Susan Martin can return. Anna Dimera return when no one thought she would. It was just wishful thinkin anyway not a big cry out for Sandy to return or she is needed in Salem more than Jennifer.

Robin hasn't been on Y&R either.

You know, J.T. Hellstrom certainly could use a mom these days.... ;-)

Who? Oh. Well, I'll have you know, she's already been tapped to play another role: Summer.
