September: Malcolm introduces her as his fiancee. Neil and Lily are intrigued by how much she reminds of Dru.

February 2011: After months of making very few sporadic appearances it is suddenly the night before Malcolm's wedding to her. She ends up sleeping with Neil out of the blue. Malcolm is devastated, breaks things off, and then she proceeds in her grief to sleep with Devon. The Winters family is shattered and never appear again.

lol yes she's really on Y&R! Her premiere is coming soon sos he's probably already filming. Of course they'd send the black girl to the Emmys and not tell anybody she's on the show. They should've paired her with an established star on the red carpet to help introduce her and her story to the press. Build some buzz.

Just playing devil's advocate for a moment, but for those of you who cry "racism," do you honestly think bigotry against the black characters/actors is at work at Y&R? There are so many factors at play and politics involved that go into who gets story and who doesn't. Maybe the writers or their precious focus groups just find the actors who comprise the Winters family dull, and so they just refuse to write for them. The characters could be black, white, or green, but if they're deemed boring, they're not going to get played heavily. Also, there are so many people aside from writers and producers who decide on what story gets played and on which characters are heavily featured. There must be tremendous pressure on Sheffer, MAB, and Rauch from Sony and from the network about whom and what to feature, and those decisions could also very well be independent of bigotry. Y&R definitely seems like one big crapfest at the moment, but to claim that racism has limited the screentime of black actors, well, that seems to be stretching things a bit IMO. I'm sure someone will bring up Rauch's track record on blacks on his other shows, but the truth is that black characters were featured on OLTL and GL during his reigns. His track record in that area is really no better or worse than most others.

And also if you're going to shove boring characters of one skin colour down people's throats, you might as well do the same for those with a different one.

The show is just awful. Misogynous, aimless, hollow, terribly plotted...

    • So, this was fun. Elsewhere, friendly to polls, a poll on what do you want to see at the Nurses Ball. The Gio reveal got 18%, for Blaze to return & sing also got 18%, for Jennifer Hudson to do a cameo & sing got 10% and for Lucy to lose various parts of clothing got 9% but the huge one was the reveal of Drew/Nina sex which got a whopping 45%!
    •   I liked the effect of the curtains closing. Yeah it was like the end of Act I.   Or maybe they are simply trying to emphasize the drama of the end of an episode -- instead of a random abrupt end that has happened in some prior episodes.
    • I posted this in the behind the scenes thread but I know this thread is busier so wanted to mention it here as well. During their instagram live yesterday, Daphnee Duplaix and Trisha Mann-Grant mentioned that they will find out this month if the show is renewed for another season. Just a heads up so we can keep an eye out for an announcement and keep our fingers crossed for a multi-year renewal!
    • They haven't explained the ownership of the Bistro, but Doug told Holly the other day he didn't get the job there. Basically Roman just hired Doug on the spot and gave him a room.  It was really nice of Roman.  I don't know if he knows who Doug is or that he stole Julie's necklace.  That was unclear-at least to me.
    • I'm not sure how I felt about it, but I do kind of like that it felt like the show telling us this concludes the first chapter of the series. Could be interesting if they only do it for big aftermath episodes. The biggest mistake with Martin is that it's almost hard to buy his anger because we've gotten no strong scenes with him and his parents. They've all been with Anita/Vernon. I can't even remember him ever even saying one word to Nicole, even in passing.
    •   Thank you! Agreed on both posts. And the comments about Mike Manning are nonsense.
    • I haven't watched yet, but did they explain the current ownership of The Bistro?  Because when RonC was writing, wasn't he applying for work with Sophia?
    • I think Brandon has gotten better in normal day to day scenes, but he’s very over the top when the character is meant to be angry or agitated. I did laugh when she started yelling at Leslie and then when he started to throw all those damn books, lol. He needs an acting coach to work out some of these kinks.
    • I've never found him as bad as some. I think he's always shined in scenes with Vernon, who should be his father. I also think he has great chemistry with Kat and Dani which I hope they tap into more over time. Dani/Martin feel like such a fun and believable Auntie/Nephew relationship.
