B&B: June Discussion Thread

Agnes never blackmailed Bridget. She never let it on to Bridget that she knew. No Nick doesnt feel the same way about her. He strictly viewed her as a friend. She admited that she had feelings for him, but never really pursued it

I hate the name too and refuse to call her Aggie. For the longest time I continued to call her Sandy even after finding out tue truth. I can somewhat handle Angess but Aggie is too ugly to name a soap character, especially someone as young as she is. Its like calling her Irma or Pearl

Yeah you're right. She didn't blackmail her...i think she considered it though...It would have been a lot more interesting if she had...

It is a shame that they aren't used on this show. RH just can't seem to win. He didn't have a storyline for years on GH, then went to B&B and they dont use him either :(

And you're welcome...Sorry for that error about the blackmail...Like i said, I was only a once or twice a week viewer at the time, because I was bored, so I missed some of that.

I know I'm in the minority, here -- it's the point I made earlier. Bell creates buzz among lapsed fans with this garbage, but it never translates into ratings for him. The trashiest things he does for the sake of 'shock and awe' end up costing the show ratings points: Brooke and Deacon, Ridge and Bridget, Brooke and Nick, etc.

It's the kiss of death in daytime. TIIC want to get fans talking and catch the interest of the industry, but they kill daytime in the process. No one successfully trades the fans they want for the fans they have.

I can definitely understand your frustration. At some point I gave up seeing B&B as a traditional soap, which is why I can still enjoy it. I don't expect the characters to be consistent, I don't expect their love lives and feelings to be consistent. B&B is just a campy mess where characters change on a whim to fit whatever crazy plot ideas come into BB's mind.

It was lame. Steffy also found out and considered blackmailing Bridget when she was on her quest to destroy every Logan on the show, but she id nothing and I dont even see what the point in having her find out was since that went nowhere

Yeah, that's my main annoyance with B&B sometimes...I feel like they start to build up really good storylines, for example having Steffy and Aggie both know about the one night stand, which could have been a great storyline, but then they go nowhere with them. And I feel like it's like that with a lot of storylines, where they start to have so much potential, but then are dropped when the show chooses to go the easy, less dramatic and soapy, route...And it leavees you wondering "Well...What was th point of such-and-such even knowing about it then?"

Im finding it funny that some Brooke fans on other boards are in denial about what happened. Ive seen some people insist that its all a dream sequence or that Steffy had sex with Oliver after she had an exact duplicate of thenecklace made. Some of the theories Im hearing are crazy and directly contradict whats happening on screen.

Whaaaatttt??? Do they not know Brooke's history?

Nah, Agnes told Nick last week after she overheard Owen and Bridget talking and learned that he was the baby's father. She sat on it for like a good 2 months though. I think Steffy completely forgot about it as she hasnt mentioned it since she first learned. I thought she was going to use the info to blackmail Brooke into leaving Ridge or blackmial Bridget into helping her get rid of Brooke. Would have made sense but the show dropped that angle rather abruptly

Ok I understand fully now. Well now maybe since Nick has found out about Bridget's betrayal and the baby isn't his, the show will go somewhere with Nick/Agnes? Does anyone like them together? Lol

I preferred Nick with Brooke but Im not sure they will be going there. He and Agnes? Could care less. She's only a means to an end and thats ending the disatrous pairing that is he and Bridget.

But what a glorious end it is. I just pray it really is the end of Nicket. Budge deserves so much better, imo.

I really don't get what purpose this story serves. Other than making Brooke look like a whore again. We already have another flare up in the Logan/Forrester feud. How much more interesting would it have been to have Brooke take Steph's side after Stephen's actions?

It's just another skeevy Bell plot that will disappear in three months.

The BnB has always been camp and I've always loved that about the show. Bill Bell had such a strong respect for the characters he created, even when he took them over the top. Brad Bell's version of the show feels like it's something he writes when he's done with his day job: editor of the reader's fantasy pages for Playboy. He's stripped the characters of everything that made them "human". Now they're just a bunch of walking reproductive organs. It's all plot. The characters have all been destroyed so the creatively challenged writing team has even more difficulty figuring out how to write character driven storylines.

B&B isn't the same without Sally.

+1.

I want Darla back and Bobbie Eakes back as Macy. Is Clarke still on this show at all? My viewing got a little sketchy after I started watching again last month.
