March 11, 201015 yr Member A lot of people, most of whom have since been fired or are leaving, obsessing and being unpleasant about a baby. Yet Gigi and Rex are still there. Kish was on Friday and it's the lowest OLTL rated day. Gays are getting the blame for sure. *cries* Yup Friday tends to be the lowest rated day for every soap. Yup...Yup
March 11, 201015 yr Member Friday tends to be the lowest rated day for every soap. The audience tunes out in horror watching them fizzle out by the end of the week. Then they come back on Monday, hoping it'll get better.
March 11, 201015 yr Member A lot of people, most of whom have since been fired or are leaving, obsessing and being unpleasant about a baby. Frons & Co. are fooling themselves if they think that they can save OLTL by firing those supporting actors. OLTL is a sewer filled with bad actors and stories. I can't begin to consider a way out for that soap to avoid cancellation in a year or two. Good luck to them.
March 11, 201015 yr Member Yet Gigi and Rex are still there. They'll be there without the baby, then people will love them again! They will travel back to 1952, where they learn Victor was working with Communists, and where Gigi, as Anna Wolek, has to avoid Victor's rape attempts. Rex, as Asa Buchanan, travels from Texas to save her. Their night of passion leads to the birth of...Delphina!
March 11, 201015 yr Member TPTB at Y&R make harmful and strange story choices, yet it is the only soap to hold its demos. It's actually risen season to date (in 18-49 viewers), only soap to do so. DAYS is down in 18-49, but only by like 1-2,000 a week on average. 1.(1)Y&R: Monday: 3.7/5,017,000 (-129,000) 2.(3) DAYS: Monday: 2.3/3,157,000 (+212,000) 3.(2) B&B: Monday: 2.4/3,147,000 (+96,000) 4.(4) AMC: Monday: 2.1/2,817,000 (+13,000) 5.(5) GH: Monday: 1.9/2,574,000 (-193,000) 6.(6) OLTL: Monday: 1.8/2,440,000 (-310,000) 7.(7) ATWT: Monday: 1.8/2,396,000 (+26,000) 1.(1) Y&R: Tuesday: 3.8/5,406,000 (+389,000) 2.(3) B&B: Tuesday: 2.5/3,457,000 (+310,000) 3.(2) DAYS: Tuesday: 2.2/2,983,000 (-174,000) 4.(4) AMC: Tuesday: 2.1/2,845,000 (+28,000) 5.(5) GH: Tuesday: 2.1/2,818,000 (+244,000) 6.(7) ATWT: Tuesday: 2.0/2,722,000 (+326,000) 7.(6) OLTL: Tuesday: 2.0/2,607,000 (+167,000) 1.(1) Y&R: Wednesday: 3.6/5,022,000 (-384,000) 2.(2) B&B: Wednesday: 2.3/3,180,000 (-277,000) 3.(3) DAYS: Wednesday: 2.2/2,959,000 (-24,000) 4.(4) AMC: Wednesday: 1.9/2,589,000 (-256,000) 5.(5) GH: Wednesday: 1.8/2,549,000 (-269,000) 6.(7) OLTL: Wednesday: 1.8/2,422,000 (-185,000) 7.(6) ATWT: Wednesday: 1.7/2,251,000 (-471,000) 1.(1) Y&R: Thursday: 3.6/4,999,000 (-23,000) 2.(2) B&B: Thursday: 2.4/3,280,000 (+100,000) 3.(4) AMC: Thursday: 2.0/2,710,000 (+121,000) 4.(3) DAYS: Thursday: 2.0/2,670,000 (-289,000) 5.(5) GH: Thursday: 1.9/2,556,000 (+7,000) 6.(7) ATWT: Thursday: 1.8/2,543,000 (+292,000) 7.(6) OLTL: Thursday: 1.9/2,524,000 (+102,000) 1.(1) Y&R: Friday: 3.4/4,637,000 (-362,000) 2.(4) DAYS: Friday: 2.3/3,095,000 (+425,000) 3.(2) B&B: Friday: 2.3/2,982,000 (-298,000) 4.(3) AMC: Friday: 1.9/2,679,000 (-31,000) 5.(5) GH: Friday: 1.8/2,415,000 (-141,000) 6.(7) OLTL: Friday: 1.7/2,321,000 (-203,000) 7.(6) ATWT: Friday: 1.7/2,241,000 (-302,000)
March 11, 201015 yr Member What was going on last week on OLTL?? Perhaps my answer to your question, "I don't remember", is the best explanation for OLTL's ratings. I do know this Monday's episode started out with Marty, who looks like she lives in a filthy Motel room, lying on her bed, alone, rubbing her stomach and saying "I'm having John's baby." I know the soaps love to use expositions, but that really took the cake. 1.7 rating, here we come!

I can't begin to consider a way out for that soap to avoid cancellation in a year or two. Good luck to them. Yeah, the show is pretty lousy right now. I dont see any stories coming up that are mildy interesting.
March 11, 201015 yr Member Friday tends to be the lowest rated day for every soap. My theory is that a lot of people who record watch Friday's show later over the weekend so those views don't get counted in the DVR same day numbers. Just my theory.
March 11, 201015 yr Member Ouch to all soaps. Good for AMC being the soap not to lose that much. But wow 100,000 losses for every soap except ATWT/AMC. Personally, I think AMC's drop off would have been a lot steeper, but I think Cady McClain/Dixie bailed them out last week.

Personally, I think AMC's drop off would have been a lot steeper, but I think Cady McClain/Dixie bailed them out last week. Cady MClain popping up on a whem doesnt = ratings or bailing them out. A drop is a drop. Perhaps my answer to your question, "I don't remember", is the best explanation for OLTL's ratings. I know the soaps love to use expositions, but that really took the cake. 1.7 rating, here we come! I watched last week but cant remember much either. DAYS is losing momentum, it seems. how so?? Thursday was their lowest and that was even a 2.0 and they almost have 3 million viewers. I think they are still in good shape.
March 11, 201015 yr Member My theory is that a lot of people who record watch Friday's show later over the weekend so those views don't get counted in the DVR same day numbers. Just my theory. Y&R has been really boring on Friday's (both for Canadians and US) and I think that is being reflected in the ratings. I wish it would drop more so that they will get rid of the hacks, not that they wouldn't just go and hire other used up hacks.
March 11, 201015 yr Member Cady MClain popping up on a whem doesnt = ratings or bailing them out. A drop is a drop. I actually do agree with te on this, I think the drop would have probably been a little bit more on par with the other soaps if it wasn't for Cady's return. Some 18-49 Viewer Info/Season to Date (Since 9/21/09). This is using numbers from Toups archive... Avg. Viewers Female 18-49 (Avg. change from last season at this time) Y&R 1,164,000 (+29,000) GH 896,000 (-52,000) DAYS 872,000 (+2,000) B&B 729,000 (-80,000) OLTL 722,000 (-89,000) AMC 711,000 (-82,000) ATWT 617,000 (-103,000)
March 11, 201015 yr Member B&B's demos are absolutely wretched. That's what you get for serving [!@#$%^&*] to your viewers. B&B, in theory, should be a demo darling. Fast paced, half-hour soap set in the world of fashion in self-absorbed Los Angeles. But Brad Bell is determined to keep this show cheap and dated in every way imaginable. It takes more than quick cuts, fast music, and montages to make a show hip. B&B is in dire need of a visionary who can cut dinosaurs and make this show work. Brad's checked out.
