Food for thought: What's the quickest way to devalue a competitor's brand? Flood the market with its product.

That's a McTavish staple. She doesn't know how to create female characters that aren't blonde. From 2003-2007 she created Krustal, Babe, reintroduced Lily, Annie, Di, SORAS'd Colby, Sydney. She's obsessed with blond women.

Ugh! The infamous Addie Walsh/Amanda L. Beall shittastic episode. Did Di actually say "your mad skills have gone stone cold?"

I love the fall out of the Greenlee reveal. I couldn't stop laughing when everyone grabbed David and Opal started to wack him with her purse.

I'm giving Ryan a break. He is in shock and reacted that way.

Technically David kidnapped Greenlee.

Annie is funny and loony as hell.

Greenlee rocked it today! I loved how she brought Ryan to near tears (if only Cameron could have cried on cue). The way she brought up how he faked his death a few years ago was brilliant.

Annie's reaction was priceless, but you could see with Adam and Scott later that it's bothering her more than she's letting on.

Ryan's never stopped loving Greenlee was a bit much, but I thought that he was sincere in his shock and joy to have her back. He was bemused by her decision to marry David and I don't blame him because Greenlee is lying about her reason. She wants to hurt Ryan which he doesn't understand because he doesn't know that she knows about Kendal and Erica.

He still fell short IMO.... I didn't really feel anything from his performence. More annoying than anything. He tries way to hard.

Today belonged to Ms. Budig. Her best work since Leo's death IMO. It was a great episode, I hate seeing everyone think its all David.... wait until they realize its all GREENLEE!!!

Rebecca did excellent work throughout this entire episode. She, in my opinion, earned her return with these scenes the last two weeks (unlike another wishy washy, come and go actress who phones it in because she only intends on staying for 3 weeks to help pad her bank account).

That said.

Decent episode, but I was disappointed. Way too much filler after a much awaited pick up to an equally much awaited cliffhanger. This episode should have just kept on coming, which it didn't. There definitely shouldn't have been any room for the Martin Douches to sit around their diarrhea brown living room whining about David -- when this had nothing to do with them at all. Not to mention that pointless Krystal and David scene. Personally, I would've like to have seen more of Annie and Greenlee interacting.

Oh, and Marissa -- I hate you.

I was disappointed that Amanda did not make mention of the fact that she thought she saw David outside through the window a year ago at the wedding rehearsal dinner. That would've been a nice tie in and would've help contextualize how David was able to save Greenlee.

I Loved today's episode! Rebecca Budig was fabulous, some of her best work! I *Loved* every scene of hers, especially when she was asking everyone not to leave, and also her scene with David where she was crying and still wanted to marry him. Cameron Mathison was ok, but...nothing really that striking, I was expecting more. I wish he would have really cried..

Annie was...LOL! I just love her. When she saw Greenlee and was like, "omg..your dead" LOL. Annie stood out to me and was a joy to watch. She is definitely secretly distraught over this, that last scene with her hugging Adam said it all! I wonder if this will drive her crazy again?? Oh, and I was LOL at Adam when he said to Annie, "What do you suggest, that we crash the wedding like those clowns at the White House dinner?" LOL, great use of current events!

Marissa, you were right, you DON'T know Greenlee so you should have just STFU.

I saw more chemistry between Greenlee and Jake while he was doing her check-up, than Ryan and Greenlee!

I didn't get why Krystal had to drag herself to David's house, just to tell him that she knew why he didn't invite her. That scene was a waste of HD film.

Great episode overall, although I wish Greenlee could have interacted more with Annie, and also had a word or two with Erica. When Erica whispered into Ryan's ear while Greenlee was sitting down, I was just WAITING for her to say something. But she just stayed quiet and stared at them!

Krystal is quite the mess these past few episodes. I loved how David threw it in her face that she wasn't on the guest list, even though he said it was an "oversight"

I enjoyed their scene because Bobbie and Vincent still do have mad chemistry. I really hated how Pratt screwed that pairing up..... he took David too far.

    • LY has a job on another show. She's going to be on the Legally Blonde prequel "Elle"
    • From what I can put together, the 1980s had several actors with interrupted runs. Michael Zaslow: 1971-1980, 1989-1997 Maureen Garrett: 1976-1980, 1988-?, ?-end Christopher Bernau: 1977-1984, 1986-1988 Peter Simon: 1981-1984, 1986-1996, ?-end Maeve Kinkead: 1981-1987, 1989-1996, 1997-end Robert Newman: 1981-1984, 1986-1991, 1993-end Jordan Clarke: 1983-1987, 1989-1993, 1996, 1997-end By 1989, I believe the longest-tenured cast member without a departure was Jerry verDorn.
    • I know they were popular, but once they tamed Van's shrew, I thought Billy just brought Van down. Since they had just Nola and Billy sitting around in 97, an interesting thing would be if they had developed a friendship that turned into something else while Van was "dead". Maybe Billy lives at the Boardinghouse (to work on repaing his relationship with Bill) and works at Company instead of the stupid diner. Nola and Bridget give him a job there and Nola and Billy (who had originally been a bit antagonistic) slowly build up a relationship and then Van returns. A returned new lease on life Van would return to her "high hat ways" and take on the Spaulding's for control of the company with Billy helping her behind the scenes.  I know that Jordan was on sporadically because of his issues and them not know if they could trust him not to fall of the wagon, but they could have done it slow..and give Van and Nola a new reason to get in each others hair (I love a good Van/Nola tussle.)

Perhaps it wasn't the most well-played match in history, but that's something no one will remember in a few years time.
    • The thing with Martin (for me) is that he should have been Anita and Vernon's kid. I honestly think he would have been fine being an older or younger brother to Dani and Nicole. It also would have made his relationship and kids feel more realistic. A handsome salt and pepper late 40s/early 50s congressman who settled down and adopted kids to fit an image for politics. Not that he didn't want this lifestyle but it is what he needed to do to get ahead. Also, we don't often get older characters playing LGBT roles not just on daytime but across most media. It would have been a refreshing take. As an alternative, Sam and Ty could have been Martin's kids from an earlier marriage a la the NJ governor that was outed. We could have also seen parallels between Vernon and Anita thinking back to how they handled Martin coming out compared to the way they accepted Chelsea.  As for Martin being Nicole and Ted's kid, I do wish in this case he was not tied to a marriage and kids, so that he could date and sleep around like any other character on a soap.  Yeah, I didn't get it...but what I did get is that girl is a bit crazy like her mama.  Vanessa and Joey talking about the poker table...get these people off my screen.

    • Unpopular opinion, but I didn't think the show should have reunited Billy/Vanessa at all until the final stretch of the show. When watching the 1989 episodes when both Vanessa and Billy return after being off the show... I liked that Vanessa had moved on from him and that the show was hinting at her wanting to reunite with her first love Ross while looking down at Nadine for being the one Ross was dating.  And I loved the twist where Billy and Nadine teamed up to keep Vanessa/Ross apart.   This was an interesting concept that sadly the writers dropped with the show deciding to make Vanessa pine over Billy between 1990 and 1993 when they finally reunited.   To me, Vanessa pining over Billy seemed out of character. At least once Billy was carted off to prison in 1994... she and Billy divorced and stayed divorced until the final months when they finally found their way back together.  During the years when they were divorced, I liked that they had maintained a friendship and connection.. with viewers (like my late mom) wondering if they would ever decide to make it work again. I wish the show had tried that with Josh/Reva because by the time of the final episode when they rode off into the sunset, I didn't care because we'd been through the make up and break ups between them for over 10+ years by that point.
    • I break down the primetime soap era (start of Dallas to end of Knots Landing) as  Up to Spring 1982: Building the foundation. Fall 1982-Spring 1985: Peak. Fall 1985-Spring 1988: Tanking. Fall 1988 onward: Off the rails plus budget mode. Of course individual shows vary and I've broken down each show in their threads.
    • I’m ready for Portia and Curtis to divorce and get it over with. Portia cheating with Isaiah would make for a fun love quadrangle with Jordan.
