Took the words right out of my mouth. I don't see any "ouch" here for Days. Not every week is going to see gains, and they didn't suffer that big of a drop in total viewers. And all during a relatively quiet week on the show. I'm still in awe of how this show has turned around its ratings/viewership.

I'm not surprised Days didn't hold their 2.3 HH rating. It's only hit a 2.3 a couple of other times since the Sami/Nicole slapfest. Too bad Thursday dragged the week down as the rest of the week had good numbers. If they had done better on that day they could have maintained their rating. I agree that this isn't a big ouch for Days.

I am surprised all the other soaps increased in number of viewers resulting in a rise or staying the same in HH rating.

Days had one bad day on Thursday with the 2.0 so how is that an "ouch?" Losing only 84,000 and staying over 3 million for the week is not an "ouch" LOL. Losing like 200,000 viewers would be an "ouch."

Anyone know of any preemptions on Thursday? It's weird how Days was getting 2.2-2.3 every day but one day. That was a massive drop from Wednesday to Thursday followed by a massive recovery from Thursday to Friday. Just makes me wonder.

I'm really thrilled to see AMC doing so well lately and making these gains every week. Just think, this is before the move to LA and the change in headwriter! I'm optimistic that AMC may eventually return to its longstanding #2 spot in the ratings again.

I thought ATWT was for sure going to hit 2.0 or better for last week. I thought it was the best week in a long time. When I see AMC tied with Days on Monday I know the ratings are unrealistic. Days is far better than AMC right now. AMC is poop!laugh.gif

Kudos to Y&R. Kicking butt and taking names in the key women demos. Despite the complaints here, the reguar viewers are tuning in.

ABC has got to happy with GH's start to February sweeps. A couple hundred thousand people turned in for Sonny shooting Dante on Friday and most of them appear to be in that 18 to 34 demo. GH's remaining casual fans love the gun violence. We need to accept that truth.

    • Can we talk about how iconic the 1994 tornado was on AMC? I was scanning through old episodes last night and came across this episode. The tornado was epic and the storylines/aftermath were so good (Julia's scar/Noah!; Jenny/Ray/Nola/Jesse in heaven with Tad, etc).  For 1994, these special effects and budget for this big event were amazing. 10 out of 10!  The only thing missing is Erica!  I can't recall where Erica was at the time, but I really wish she had been involved in this storyline.

    • On the way to her own engagement party? I've read that the show had trouble getting the audience to sympathize with Rita, but...that seems bizarre. Maybe I can understand the issue with the censors, given that at the time, rape wasn't depicted the way it is now, and marital rape was even less acknowledged.  Wasn't Chris Brooks' rape one of the first honest stories on the subject? I just don't think I could get into a show I didn't have a working knowledge of. I know it's a different era, but I really tried to get into GH once Maura West joined, but it just never jelled.
    • Yes it was! My mom and I convinced my dad to get one. He was--how shall I put this?--on the thrifty side, but one day he came home with one as a surprise. To this day, I'm convinced it fell off a truck. (He knew people with "connections."

) BUT, we had our VCR and we could watch our soaps. That thing lasted forever! It was built like a tank. Even when we got new ones with more features, we kept that one.

Blasphemy!  (Haha, I get it.  But, you should try watching AMC! 80s-90s was so good.)
    • I thought about saying how I resented the fact that those two newbies were tripping up the Puppetmaster of all Puppetmasters, when the best others could do was a stalemate (or less...). But, well...*sigh*
    • I read years ago that both Zaslow and Lenore both complained that it came off as a seduction because of CBS censors, so Lenore asked if she could say, "you raped me" to leave no doubt with the audience, and that Zaslow insisted that Holly's rape played realistically
    • Wow it’s official, Gatwa is out… https://www.avclub.com/ncuti-gatwa-addresses-doctor-who-finale-statement DW fandom on Reddit is in a furor over how things went down and apparent last minute scrapping of the original ending. Also…Billie Piper again really?
    • He comes pretty close, talkin' about how Reva is full of love and joy, blah blah....which is bilge considering he was the one responsible for throwing her out of Josh's life over working with Alan.
    • Just watched the episode concerning Olivia's drug use and Abby's persistence, etc. Donna Mills did stellar work in this episode, as did Tonya Crowe and Brian Austin Green (Brian).
    • But by Dinah and Hart...Hart especially looked as if he could not tie his own shoes!  Ed, Holly, Alan, Alex Henry and Vanessa among others were not able to put Roger down....Dinah???
