Really impressed with Days numbers and with Y&R pretty much maintaining its numbers. Thought for sure it would've taken such a huge hit. Nice HH's for AMC, and still would've scored a 2.1 with the Kelly Ripa eppies, but those demos are not encouraging. Tied with ATWT!

So do we think that AMC will fall miserably next week? I hope not :/

I mean the ratings kind of trailed off as the week went on (except thursday...that day went up for some reason.)

So without Kelly Ripa, Eva LaRue, etc...making guest appearances, I think the ratings will drop.

By the way. Does anyone know if this Franco storyline is over yet? I heard his last day was this week, and the week ends tomorrow and he seems to be gone...SO, any word?

I think Days just secured their renewal with this week's ratings. I remember Corday saying in an interview that the ratings from September '09 through March '10 would determine whether they would be cancelled or not. They have more than surpassed any reasonable expectations I would think. And apparently they did it all by cutting costs without sacrificing quality. What a concept!

Wow at the 2.0 and the 1.1 in W 18-49 for ATWT! Funny since someone last week was all negative saying ATWT couldn't hit a 2.0. Also disagree with the "weather and holidays" being the only reason for the good ratings. TV isn't the only thing you can do at home, the much-ballyhooed reasons for the soap decline include Internet/cable, which are not affected by weather and holidays.

I more so think it's a randomly good sample than "weather and holidays" as the reason for the good week, although weather and holidays helped slightly.

ATWT has now had 5-6 weeks or so of 1.0 or higher in the W 18-49 demo, with just one week in that period being the 0.9 that it had in November, so the "unsustainable" increase has been very sustainable.

CBS, are you looking for a graceful way to change your mind about your stupid decision to cancel the show? I won't mock you, CBS.

Regardless of your opinion about the quality of the shows, these numbers are great news.it shows that the viewers are there and willing to watch.Days gets a big 'yes' for their turnaround.

Tt would be great to see all of the show move up at least another 0.1 .Imagine what the numbers would be like if the shows began to really focus on character based stories/vet characters and quality writing.Days has shown what can be done on a limited budget.

    • The Duprees not having any staff is a bugbear for me. They've included the background staff at the Country Club but no one at the Dupree home. Even just an extra bringing in a tray of food/drinks or responding to a request from Anita would suffice.
    • Shut up, Dante and Lois.  I actually don't mind this particular soap trope, but in the context of this storyline, it just feels forced and unnecessary. If anything, this Dante/Gio tension needed to begin months ago. Plus, this storyline, in general, isn't doing Lois any favors either.  Emma comforting Gio was really sweet though. It's definitely time for the two of them to have their first kiss. And, Joss playing Secret Agent Barbie will just never work.
    • Note to makeup - Smitty’s eyebrows, bad clamshell look.

    • Okay I can buy that when Brook Lynn was a teen.  Now she knows the child is a boy one would think she'd be slightly suspicious.  Then again, Gio looks nothing like either of them so maybe not lol.
    • I've been behind & just got caught up & the last 3 days were amazing!
    • Yeah.  The hot, poor bad boy with a chip on his shoulder but with a heart of gold was a common soap trope in the 80s

    • That's been an issue with me... the lack of a cohesive 'Have Not' crowd that has focus other than Leslie/Eva.   I would beef up Jan, Mona, Laura, Joey, and few other male characters.. and not just be out to overthrow the Duprees.. but co-existing and broadening the scope of the show since the show is called Beyond the Gates. I think the set up the show has with everything revolving around the Duprees will become predictable especially if they always win.   It would be like Victor Newman on Y & R for 40+ years.. always winning, hardly ever losing.   With MVJ/Guza.. both trained under that mindset... I fear that will happen.   I've always heard from a performer that is playing a character like Leslie/Dana that you have to find the victim/hurt beneath the surface in order to play a villain/villainess... and I think that's why I enjoy watching her.. because she brings so much more to the part than what the writers put on the page.
    • I figure that was really hard for Dom to do. I completely GET why they wrote it the way they did but I wonder if it was necessary. Meanwhile I have 2 really icky ideas in my head. Drew is going to blame Tracy KNOWING it was not her. Dante is going to blame Lulu.  After that, everyone else is going to be mad at Lois.  Tracy is going to double down on wanting to get rid of Sonny. Sonny's going to be more dug in to stay because he now has a new descendant.
    • I can actually buy Brook Lynn being so self-absorbed and incurious that she never thought to question why her mom and grandma were so attached to Gio.
