Members Kubla Khan
The writers room was done away at AMC in 2003. A lot of soaps (GH, Y&R, Days, etc.) have historically always had their HWs/breakdown writers scattered over the country. Broderick, Walsh, Beldner, Hall, Taylor and Cohen (I think) are based in NY. Thomson, Hayes, and Dunn are based in LA.
Members Jonathan
I didn't know that the writer's room was abolished. Interesting.
Members Kubla Khan
LOL, yup. Right before McTavish's era began. Victor Miller used to write from Northern California. Stephen Demorest from North Carolina. Amanda Beall from Connecticut. Addie Walsh from New York City. Writers, writers, everywhere!

Administrator Toups Posted February 6, 2010 Author Administrator Share Posted February 6, 2010 I believe OLTL and ATWT is the only soaps left that has a writers room - I think all their BDWs (and of course HW) are NY based.
Administrator Toups Posted February 6, 2010 Author Administrator Share Posted February 6, 2010 Well, he does regurgitated everything you say about AMC's writers - he can't form his own opinion. Like when he had Addie Walsh on his AMC wish list, but then he remember you citing that July 4th episode, and then he took Addie off his list. I highly doubt he knows what happened in that episode, I'm sure he didn't even watch it.
Members Sylph
I do. It's true. Wherever Sinclair goes, I follow. Nothing wrong with that. I'm a complete follower.
Administrator Toups Posted February 7, 2010 Author Administrator Share Posted February 7, 2010 Well...yeah. LOL Fakery at its finest. So Sylph, since you've been obviously watching the show, what do you think of Chip Hayes' scripts? He seems to be the lead SW now, writing the most. Members AllMyDaysatGH
Question, when did Chip Hayes start writing for AMC and did he ever have any positions other than SW before on the show?
Members Adam
He was writing breakdowns before AMC did away with that position. Consult Toups' profiles section, but I believe Chip came aboard in early 2004.

Members Adam
Toups, this "gift" you have.... can you give us a time frame? Like how long before we know.... you've really piqued the interest of the AMC fan elite here....
Administrator Toups Posted February 7, 2010 Author Administrator Share Posted February 7, 2010 Here you go: All My Children - Script Writer (March 25, 2008 - Present) - Associate Head Writer (January 7, 2004 - January 14, 2008) It was an honest question for Sylph, who seems to know which AMC writers are "Lethal Weapons" and which are not. I think it's sometime this month.
Members AllMyDaysatGH
Thanks! I'm a fan of his scripts on AMC, and have been wondering.
