I didn't say her dialoge was bad but she like others have favorite characters and it comes through in the writing, even the dialogue. Just like Korte as a dialogue writer(when she does and did) favors Carly.

And Jax's rape don't remind me. I recall few of the soap writers actually laughing at GH viewers for being so appalled at how it was handled. WHo'd think viewers would be repelled seeing a couple characters on screen laughing about it.

In both cases, they both have to write from the directions they're given from a breakdwon, so they're essentially told the direction in which they have to write for each character.

While they may have favourite characters and request to write episodes where those characters are heavy in, they're still told how to write for each of the characters.

Do the Scrubs fans still think Michele hates their couple?

I think on GH the characterizations are consistent in the sense that no matter who writes the script, they all have to follow Guza's agenda for that character, though it's not the same on some other soaps.

Male rape is always played for laughs on soaps, look at what both Y&R and ATWT did with it, thanks Hogan Sheffer's nasty vision of soaps. He's no different than Guza.

On Night Shift II, Sri Rao dealt with Robin's HIV a little, but it was clear that GH had no intention of dealing with it when she was pregnant. Even before Robin became pregnant, Patrick was happily having sex with Leyla without getting tested, and then later on he never told Robin or Leyla that the condom broke when he was having sex with Robin. By not telling Robin, he also took away her decision to use the morning after pill to prevent the pregnancy. GH uses Robin's HIV is a convenient plot device. Guza and Phelps must consider HIV too serious to deal with in a meaningful way.

I would not waste my energy to write Guza. I don't believe for a second that he cares what any of the fans want. He does whatever he wants.

Yes, they do! LOL! Where have you been? Go to any soap board and you'll discover that Scrubs fans have this whole conspiracy theory going on where they think that Karen Harris loves the couple and that MVJ hates them. They attacked MVJ so much that she made her Twitter private. It is wacked out fanbase group think.

I'll add I rarely think that the dialogue is any good. I don't care who writes it. However, Guza's Franco dialogue is the worse of the worse.

All fanbases are insane. It is a terrible mindset and the fanbase indirectly is responsible for the bad behavior of its members (and almost all the members behave badly). If you and I are in the same fanbase and I say "You know, I really don't like Luke Spencer lately." and you feel the same and we are in some safe, sick, fanbase forum, you might feel entitled and comfortable to say "I hate Luke" and then now that I know I have a friend, I might respond with "I hate Tony Geary too!" and then you say something like "lets go to his twitter and tell him how much he sucks!" and off we go. If there was no fanbase these people would not be congregating, spreading the word about twitter accounts and inciting each other up with deranged conspiracy theories. Every fanbase is a horror show basically where every sentiment must be ratcheted up and topped.

They never show Nikolas as a father. He barely mentions him. And apparently Steven Webber came to take over temporarily upon Monica's request. Or so we found out during a scene between Steven and Rebecca last week.

I thought the show was ok but mostly because I am huge Chad Brannon fan and was happy to see him back even if the scene was only a minute or 2.

Jason and Sam are so ridiculous. Jason is always in love, but I can't believe that she could love him after how he treated her.

Liz is annoying. She is a lying liar. Nik's self-pity is pathetic.

Anyone know why GH fired Chad Brannon? It was good to see him.

Who knows. I loved Chad and was pissed as hell they fired him. But why did they fire SN, SD, BW, RiH, the list goes on. They let talented actors go and keep some they have I have zero clue. He had the last laugh. He won the emmy after he was off the show, went back to school, and does a ton of voiceover work, lots with Fox apparently. That scene today was all kinds of sparkly and I'll credit Chad for most of it. He sparked in a 1 minute scene.

I would disagree with the "of course" portion of your statement. The guy has no charisma, no screen presence, and consequently his talent is practically worthless. I don't even notice hs is gone and I hope he is faring better on B&B.

Chad B. has matured into a really handsome man. He looks much better with a proper haircut and suit, then when he did as the teen in the street clothes.

    • I found it to be a rather odd way to deal with a character departing for parts unknown.
    • Today reminded me as to why I’m a little disappointed in the name that the new Pope chose

Luckily, EJ and Johnny, and pretty much every other character saved today’s episode.  I didn’t expect Javi to be the one to save Sarah though, and I don’t mind it at all, because if it means that Javi is finally going to get his own identity/character, away from his douchy bf, I’m all for it. Javi’s scenes would’ve been a lot better had it not been for him. EJ and Johnny were the best part of today. Their conversation hit a lot of important beats and I’m so looking forward to seeing them play out. And now that EJ knows that Johnny is going to work for Xander, that opens up another dynamic to their storyline and to the Kiriakis family storylines as well. Tying them all together could be really good. There are so many story possibilities that can come out of this. And I thought Carson Boatman did a pretty good job again too.  I also liked that Johnny was there to comfort Chanel after everything that happened with Sarah. They’re so good together. But I do have mixed feelings about Chanel possibly forgiving Johnny so quickly. Hopefully, the question that she asked him at the end of today leads to more conflict for the two of them.  And yeah, still no changes in Alex’s character lol
    • Awesome, thanks so much for taking the time to grab this episode. I had a quick review of your rip because I was curious why it was 700MB and 30 minutes. The first 10 minutes of the episode is 3169 (opening credits at 5 minutes and again at 15 minutes). I thought we had the full HD version of ep.3170 on the YouTube channel, but it appears they added the wrong episode but labelled it 3170.
    • I guess, according to Mike Manning in the Michael Fairman chat, he was almost Derek

    • That's a name I haven't heard in a minute. Thanks!
    • Well, since I'm still up unexpected past my growing-into-it bedtime. lol.   I finally got to rewatch Monday's. I even rewatched Friday's to take it all in. Now that we got the reveal and hit the climax of the SilkPress Sheila storyline, now we get to watch the aftermath and/or turns that come with its climax. So far, so good. Friday left us with three cliffhangers. And what I found surprising was how I felt about them over a rewatch.    I know some of you all felt a way about the dialogue during Kat vs Eva. I remember liking it more the first time around and it was nice for them to have these scenes to establish more of a frenemy vibe for them going forward. That still held up. But I found myself agreeing with you all about that dialogue. lol. Still, it was nice to have both of their POVs.   Second up was Silk Press Sheila vs the Duprees. And I was happy to get a brief spat with Dani in there. But the rest standouts for me was Anita and Martin. Haters can hate and given the tail end of the episode, I will agree to a fault, but Brandon has impressed and he was on fire on Monday and had great subtle work on Friday. And that subtle work made it all the better. Like I believe I said when I was watching...BC has a much better grip on his character and seems to be realizing what his tics are so has started to be able to know when to turn it up and when to dial it down. And for the most part (emphasis on most), he got that. Meanwhile, TT was giving fierceness, and I was here for every minute of it. Her reading SilkPress. Her being quip about it. Her 'BE STILL.' Ooooo she had a chokehold on me as Anita gave what I was expecting her to SilkPress. WORTH THE WAIT. I also loved Vernon's CHOOSE SILENCE. I wonder though if SilkPress will figure out Martin's condition from her observing Anita and Vernon with him.   And speaking of worth it...Oooo YES Nicole vs Ted was worth totally worth it. Oooooo I knew DD would nail it, and it was all so well done. The fight between the part of Nicole who is a therapist vs Nicole as a woman who wants to express how she feels. And being so angry. And how there would be moments when it would shoot out of her. And how she would restrain herself. But how she felt she should not be restrain. Just the levels of processing and layers. And DD played it all so well. I do wish Maurice gave just a little bit more, but overall, I thought he did a good job even if it was just Ted coming across as a deadbeat and not at all redeemable. And Kat being there for her mother was so beautiful.   Minority, but I love the montage though yes, it did run a little long. Given how the Duprees like to bond (and also as I mentioned from my own very recent family experiences), it did not seem out of place to me.     That said...let's see how the aftermath worked in today's episode. Overall. Cuz RC can be hit or miss.
    • I wonder whose brilliant (

) idea it was to do an almost complete rip-off of the "who killed Tom King"-storyline. That's some quality style writing right there.....
