They say what goes around comes around. I keep waiting for the axis of evil at ABCD/GH to get theirs. Still waiting.

And you hear good things about JFP from people who like her and she endorses. Forget it if you are not on her "it" list. She has to be the reason the character of Olivia(LLC) on GH is so high profile since she was part of the disastrous Santi clan at OLTL and was ultimately axed.

JFP wasn't at OLTL when the Santi clan were introduced.

I'm not sure how much power she has over casting these days. She must have some, but after some of the flubs early in her run, like the Jensen Buchanan hiring and lawsuit, most of the FOJs have been in short term roles, or barely given storyline.

I can't stand any of the folks at ABCD aside from Ron C at OLTL but I also don't think Frons is the devil but damn the man needs some coaching on how to give an interview. Every time he opens his mouth he sticks his foot in it. He reminds me of Sarah Palin in those Katie Couric interviews. Gag

Why do any of these people even comment about online. They allegedly don't pay much matter anyway right? And as a women, can't she exert a little influence at GH as to how they are treated? Or is she part of the problem?

Ok my fault I thought she was the brainchild of the Santi's. I can blame her for Frankie Frame though right? :D

JFP obviously has some talent, as she's been a key player in daytime for years now. Sure, kissing ass is one thing and I'm sure that has taken her far, but you don't last as long in the cut-throat arena of daytime tv without being talented. Harding Lemay, whose opinion I have a lot of respect for, has said that she is one of the best producers he ever worked with, that she is very intuitive when it comes to what works and what doesn't in terms of story. I think he said she has a sixth sense. She has gone on record admitting that killing off Maureen Bauer on GL was probably a mistake, which was pretty cool of her. The negative stuff I've heard about her comes from the way she treats certain actors who are not part of her inner circle. Jackie Zeman, in a very interesting "we love soaps" interview last month, said that the moment JFP took over as producer, her airtime severely diminished. JFP never called her into her office to tell her that her role was being downsized...it just happened without anyone telling her. Pretty nasty on JFP's part to treat a veteran cast member like that. And of course, what she did to Anna Lee and Rachel Ames was criminal.

There were rumors when JFP first arrived that she planned to have Bobbie go psycho to facilitate Melissa/Roy, and that Jackie was on her way out. Then there were claims that Tony Geary stopped this.

I just wish Jackie and Leslie hadn't damaged their faces, because I do think Bobbie is, or was, a key part of the show, but I can't really say that I need to see more Bobbie when she looks the way she does now. The same goes for Monica, although Leslie isn't as bad.

Well she certainly hasn't exerted much of her intuition as to what has and has not worked at GH for years and maybe it's true that her power is not as great there as it has been on other shows. They've executed a bunch of zinger stories during her reign there. Sarah Brown lasted almost 2 years on that show as a huge overpaid bust(no fault of Sarah's), a terribly conceived and vile character, so I assume the reigns of her control is somewhat limited. And I suppose all producers have their favorites. We know the writers do.

Geary for all his faults and yapping to the press has always been extremely loyal to Jackie Zeman. She even said he offered to step in for her when the show moved her to recurring status and by that time I think she was pretty done with the show for the most part anyway and had other things more relevant to focus her life on, so she declined.

The one thing I will ever remember JFP for that really made me disrespect her was her treatment of Anna Lee. This woman was an icon and her treatment disgraceful. Her son even indicated before they dropped her that if the show ever did that it would be the end of the line for his mom and that's sadly exactly what happened. Call me crazy, but an actress with her background and class with so much love in the daytime community certainly deserved better. Add Stuart Damon getting fired on Christmas eve by fax to that list also. And most recently her coolness to Greg Vaughan when he was fired.

There were a lot of rumors about Amber Tamblyn and Sarah Brown also leaving because of conflicts with her, although I think Sarah denied those to the press.

I think she probably did what was going to be done anyway, to a lot of the older actors, she just didn't do it in the most tactful manner, I guess.

    • I found it to be a rather odd way to deal with a character departing for parts unknown.
    • Today reminded me as to why I’m a little disappointed in the name that the new Pope chose

Luckily, EJ and Johnny, and pretty much every other character saved today’s episode.  I didn’t expect Javi to be the one to save Sarah though, and I don’t mind it at all, because if it means that Javi is finally going to get his own identity/character, away from his douchy bf, I’m all for it. Javi’s scenes would’ve been a lot better had it not been for him. EJ and Johnny were the best part of today. Their conversation hit a lot of important beats and I’m so looking forward to seeing them play out. And now that EJ knows that Johnny is going to work for Xander, that opens up another dynamic to their storyline and to the Kiriakis family storylines as well. Tying them all together could be really good. There are so many story possibilities that can come out of this. And I thought Carson Boatman did a pretty good job again too.  I also liked that Johnny was there to comfort Chanel after everything that happened with Sarah. They’re so good together. But I do have mixed feelings about Chanel possibly forgiving Johnny so quickly. Hopefully, the question that she asked him at the end of today leads to more conflict for the two of them.  And yeah, still no changes in Alex’s character lol
    • Awesome, thanks so much for taking the time to grab this episode. I had a quick review of your rip because I was curious why it was 700MB and 30 minutes. The first 10 minutes of the episode is 3169 (opening credits at 5 minutes and again at 15 minutes). I thought we had the full HD version of ep.3170 on the YouTube channel, but it appears they added the wrong episode but labelled it 3170.
    • I guess, according to Mike Manning in the Michael Fairman chat, he was almost Derek

    • That's a name I haven't heard in a minute. Thanks!
    • Well, since I'm still up unexpected past my growing-into-it bedtime. lol.   I finally got to rewatch Monday's. I even rewatched Friday's to take it all in. Now that we got the reveal and hit the climax of the SilkPress Sheila storyline, now we get to watch the aftermath and/or turns that come with its climax. So far, so good. Friday left us with three cliffhangers. And what I found surprising was how I felt about them over a rewatch.    I know some of you all felt a way about the dialogue during Kat vs Eva. I remember liking it more the first time around and it was nice for them to have these scenes to establish more of a frenemy vibe for them going forward. That still held up. But I found myself agreeing with you all about that dialogue. lol. Still, it was nice to have both of their POVs.   Second up was Silk Press Sheila vs the Duprees. And I was happy to get a brief spat with Dani in there. But the rest standouts for me was Anita and Martin. Haters can hate and given the tail end of the episode, I will agree to a fault, but Brandon has impressed and he was on fire on Monday and had great subtle work on Friday. And that subtle work made it all the better. Like I believe I said when I was watching...BC has a much better grip on his character and seems to be realizing what his tics are so has started to be able to know when to turn it up and when to dial it down. And for the most part (emphasis on most), he got that. Meanwhile, TT was giving fierceness, and I was here for every minute of it. Her reading SilkPress. Her being quip about it. Her 'BE STILL.' Ooooo she had a chokehold on me as Anita gave what I was expecting her to SilkPress. WORTH THE WAIT. I also loved Vernon's CHOOSE SILENCE. I wonder though if SilkPress will figure out Martin's condition from her observing Anita and Vernon with him.   And speaking of worth it...Oooo YES Nicole vs Ted was worth totally worth it. Oooooo I knew DD would nail it, and it was all so well done. The fight between the part of Nicole who is a therapist vs Nicole as a woman who wants to express how she feels. And being so angry. And how there would be moments when it would shoot out of her. And how she would restrain herself. But how she felt she should not be restrain. Just the levels of processing and layers. And DD played it all so well. I do wish Maurice gave just a little bit more, but overall, I thought he did a good job even if it was just Ted coming across as a deadbeat and not at all redeemable. And Kat being there for her mother was so beautiful.   Minority, but I love the montage though yes, it did run a little long. Given how the Duprees like to bond (and also as I mentioned from my own very recent family experiences), it did not seem out of place to me.     That said...let's see how the aftermath worked in today's episode. Overall. Cuz RC can be hit or miss.
    • I wonder whose brilliant (

) idea it was to do an almost complete rip-off of the "who killed Tom King"-storyline. That's some quality style writing right there.....
