Members zanereed
I'm glad more of the 1971 audio recordings are surfacing. It's great to hear Larry Gates in his non-HB Lewis role.

Members zanereed
The underrated Roger Newman as Ken Norris. For those who only knew Ken as Holly's crazy brother from 1998-1999 on TGL, this is a good listen.
Members amybrickwallace
He was also a soap writer, wasn't he?
Members zanereed
Correct. Both he and his wife, Fran Myers (Peggy, TGL) wrote for soaps, including TGL.
Members amybrickwallace
Thanks for clarifying. I wish more of their GL work was available.
Members Bright Eyes
Jean Rouverol passed away on March 24, age 100. She was an actress during the golden age of Hollywood and wrote for the soaps; most notably Guiding Light in the 70's. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/jean-rouverol-dead-blacklisted-screenwriter-was-100-988772 Edited April 1, 2017 by Bright Eyes
Members NothinButAttitude
RIP, Jean. I own her book, Writing for the Soaps, which I find very insightful when it comes to the industry. She'll be missed.

Members amybrickwallace
Nice! Who do you think were the best writers GL had?
Members vetsoapfan
There were some other writers who were very good, but for my money, I would say TGL's best scribes of all time were Irna Phillips and Agnes Nixon.
Members zanereed
Bridget and Jerome Dobson will always be at the top of my "TGL Best Writers" list. Thanks for keeping up with this and posting these links!
Members Dan
David Kriezman. Never mind. I couldn't even get through those two words without laughing to myself. I think the best overall writing team was the Curlee-led staff of the early 90s. The plots were decent and the scripts crackled with wit and intelligent banter, particularly with a Mulchahey script. In terms of the best actual headwriters, probably Agnes Nixon or the Dobsons. Edited April 3, 2017 by Dan
Members NothinButAttitude
Me? I'd have to say Nancy Curlee as that's who I grew up on and was watching as child when I fell in love with GL. Now thanks to YouTube, I love a lot of the material from Dobson and Marland too. Pam Long isn't bad either when she doesn't focus heavily on Reva and the Lewises. You're welcome! Normally @DRW50 posts the links on here before I do, but I happened to see he didn't this time, so I went ahead and did it.
Members SoapDope
I was watching a Wheel Of Fortune rerun on GSN from a few of years ago (maybe 13/14) and recognized Suzy Cote from GL as one of the contestants. She was on with her husband and using her married name.
