Members Khan
Thanks for reminding me, @Reverend Ruthledge. I forgot about that storyline. I just love that picture of Lezlie Dalton/Elizabeth, Cindy Pickett/Jackie and Don Stewart/Mike. Jackie (and her aviator scarf) are trying their hardest to get something through to Elizabeth and Mike, but Elizabeth's stoned or in a trance and Mike's wondering what's taking the delivery man so long with the pizza. Members Contessa Donatella
Any time anyone asks me about Lipton as a soap writer, I reply telling them how remarkable he was as the host of INSIDE THE ACTORS' STUDIO & add that in his book INSIDE INSIDE Chapter 8 is devoted entirely to actors who worked on soaps. For some time I've had a request in at SOAP WORLD wanting a copy of the SOAP OPERA WEEKLY 9-15-2009 issue "Guiding Light Collectors Edition" & I finally have it & will be posting from it. First, an overview of the headlines: Looking Back at Our Town Through the Years Roger Thorpe Holds Ex-Wife Hostage, Falls Off Cliff Reva Lewis Drives Off Florida Bridge Blackout Darkens Springfield Town Races to Restart Lighthouse Lighter Times Maureen Bauer, Wife and Mother, Dies My Two Mommies Find Love It's Triangle City! New Bride Killed In Hit-And-Run Hometown History Springfield Yearbook The Four Musketeers We Knew Them When ... With These Rings ... A GL Wedding Album and the final page with a letter from the Weekly Editor who did this edition & pictures of the radio cast in 1947, the radio cast in 1950, Alexandra & Henry in 1991, Ed & Mike & Bert in 1977, Billy & Vanessa & HB in 1984, and the entire cast & crew on the last day in the studio on 8-7-2009. Hope this will be fun! Edited January 16 by Contessa Donatella typo

Members P.J.
Is that Robin Mattson with Ben as Hope?
Members SoapDope
Yes. In case anyone asks, the brunette in side profile with Mike and his secretary is Jackie before the blonde pixie cut.
Members Reverend Ruthledge
Who are the man and woman in the picture right after that one?
Members Paul Raven
The secretary is Ann Jeffers (Maureen Mooney) That's Dan Hamilton and Christina Pickles as David Vested and Linell Conway. Those pics are from two different times 1972 and 1976,I would say. I'm sure similar press photos exist for other CBS soaps. Hopefully they will surface.
Members Mona Kane Croft
I've always been curious -- how do companies like ImagoImages, Getty Images, etc. get ownership of the online photos that bare their watermarks? Do they actually buy the photos from the original owners? Or do they just claim ownership and slap on their watermarks? For example, the photos in the post above were almost certainly originally owned by P&G Productions and P&G is almost certainly the entity that paid the photographer(s). So in all likelihood, they were originally part of the P&G collection. How did ownership transfer from P&G to ImagoImages? Frankly, I would be very surprised if P&G went to the trouble of sorting through all their thousands of photos and decided to sell the rights to some of them. That just doesn't sound like something P&G would do. Is there any chance these image/photo companies just steal the images and claim ownership with their watermarks?
Members Contessa Donatella
When it comes to Getty Images I believe they literally have specific contracts with each & every individual photographer. But, no idea about any other entity.
Members Mona Kane Croft
Thanks. Now, that makes me wonder about photographers who are dead. Wondering how they get those rights. Oh well, I'm just going down a rabbit hole. LOL I did look up Getty Images on Wikipedia. And near the end of the article, it does describe some questionable acquisition tactics that have allegedly been used. Not sure how accurate it is, of course.
Members wonderwoman1951
re james lipton and soaps: interesting to watch his response in his interview for ‘television: an oral history.’ he explicitly downplays the importance of soaps in his career. at 41:43, he says, ‘you’re asking me too much about the soap operas…’ james lipton on soaps
Members Mitch64
Those pictures are great.. I love young, sexy Alan (oh RR...you were never Alan) and even sexier Rita (she always seemed like a character that Pam Long would find interesting..) Does anyone know if they ever tried to bring MH back as Ed during all the time sourpuss PS was gone?
