I did not watch Joel Higgins on Search for Tomorrow.    I do remember when Wanda's brother appeared on One Life to Live.     I had realized that Joel Higgins had played the role.

I do remember Joel Higgins from SFT, though not well. Did not recall that he was playing the same role that Gary Tomlin had played. Higgins was fine, though I remember liking Gary Tomlin a lot. I don't remember or didn't see Higgins as Wanda Webb's brother. He and Marilyn Chris as siblings?

In the Locher interview, Lisa Peluso said definitively that she did not miss acting.  She had "done that" since she was 4 months old and sacrificed a lot to be a working actress her entire life.  She sounds very happy with her current life and seems to realize she had a great acting career, but that there was more to be had leading a life outside the spotlight.  Happy for her...

Seeing the way soaps fared, especially in NYC, she definitely got out while the going was still (somewhat) good.

Obviously the fact she had just had her daughter drove the point home more than anything else but I wonder how much the fact her last role on OLTL turned out to be largely a damp squid ended driving home for her that it was time to move on.

True. It all happened to coincide with her and her husband starting their family.

Lisa's time on SFT, Another World and Loving all ended when the shows were cancelled.  Wonder what she'd be doing if she had landed a meaty role on a higher profile show like AMC or GL...

Possibly her career would’ve been extended by a decade, but she’d already tried California once, after SFT, and she’d have to be there now to still be in soaps. And besides, sounds like she wanted out of acting, period.

She left Search before it was canceled, although she likely saw the writing on the wall.

IIRC, she was offered the part of Amanda Spaulding on GL in 1995, but declined, as she needed a rest.

I could definitely saw her as Amanda Spaulding.

Why wasn't she brought to The City with Randy Mantooth?

I think the producers wanted a fresh start - my guess is they didn't want any characters too closely identified with Loving. Alex had been around for a good while, but he was also  played by Randolph Mantooth, a name  in his own right.

I was under the impression she wanted a break too, but she did take AW right after that.

It's been a while but I think she was not asked to join The City, but she said that was fine with her because she needed a break.

She joined AW in early 1997, so she probably had about a year and a half break.

I wonder if she was ever asked if she was going to join  The City before it was canceled.

I know people conflated her being asked with their allegedly having plans to re-introduced Alex and Ava's kids before cancellation, but I don't know if she ever was.

I'm glad she's happy being done with the business, having been in it since infancy. I'd still insist on her (and Mantooth, and others) making a guest appearance for a LOV-themed Halloween special if the ABC soaps ever came back around in some form, lol.
