Phillip is looking like a real a s s h o l e to me. Well at least he shook my hand. What???? That line really pissed me off! He should have punched him...ignored him....I am sure he will tell him off pretty soon. Phillip made no attempt to connect with his son. And I thought Jill was a cold b i t c h! Phillip is worse!!

I don't understand their intention of making Phillip III this smug and abrasive since the start of his return. Did they really think this was a good way to introduce this character back?

But at the same time, they're really trying to make people like Cane and better understand him.

I don't get it. I give up.

I am stunned at how they are handling P3. When he told Nina that she was going to drive away her son like she did to him if she kept forcing him to deal with him. Nina was excited to see her son and mentioned P# a few times. I think I reacted the same way as Nina. Aghast. Who the heck is P3 to say anthing to Nina about her parenting of her son? At least she has parented him and then to once again lay his cowardly actions over the past two decades at her feet is just too much. So while Thom Bierdz is not doing well in his return, the writers are killing him. Most people around the web seem to want him gone and see him as a selfish jerk. So why bring him back just to make him this big of a jerk? Just to bring on P4 and make Cane the good son to Jill even if he isn't biologically related to her?

Is this the same Cane that pretended to want Amber back, had sex with her and then totally humilated her to get even? Now, he and Amber are friends and he wants to save her from her lies. What is he some mind reader now and knows Amber is keeping secrets from Daniel about her past?

And this cancer storyline should make me feel for Lily but it just feels like Summer's coma. I know this is about allowing Lily and Cane to get back together and to reaffirm their love through trying times. I know Lily isn't going to die just like I knew Summer was just put in a coma to bring Phyllis and Nick back together. And I guess the Winters' family will finally get some screen time.

I just wonder if this is what Thom Bierdz expected. The story has very little to do with Phillip's homosexuality and is mostly about painting him as a selfish jerk and about reminding us Cane's not so bad.

I don't mind Cane but I would rather have seen him written as slightly darker if it meant not trashing a 20 year legacy.

I'm not even sure if they know they're trashing a legacy. I think when they hear "legacy" they probably think, "Ooh, that's what we can name Victor's next child."

I like that P3 is not playing it sympathetically. He abandoned his child because was scared. If he felt sorry for it, what would he do then? Re-introduce himself into Nina and P4's lives? I doubt they wanna tell that story and this one sparks more drama, I think. They're not telling it well, unfortunately, but I love that P3 is flawed and feels vindicated abandoning everyone.

And I still don't feel that bad for Cane. He just needs to go. Aussiebum should've never been a foster Chancellor son lol.

Victor would never name his children legacy lmao. This child would be Victor the 3rd if he wanted it to be.

Yeah, they aren't telling it well. It's hard to see anything other than Phillip III blaming everyone else around him for decisions he ultimately made. They haven't done a good job showcasing other things about this character since his reintroduction. It's been all about placing blame on other people. It also doesn't help, as YRBB mentioned, they they're sometimes playing what could be 4 weeks worth of material in single episodes. That makes it really hard to digest these characters and their actions sometimes.

So again, if Pattty Jane has no clothing, and her room at the GCAC was empty, then where did she get all of the clothes she wore for the months prior to Victor forcing her out of the GCAC?

I also have to laugh at how well put together she looks for living in a potting shed with no bathroom.

I already mentioned how the security at the Newman Ranch has to be run by hacks for her to easily slip in and out of that property. :)

What about all the time Adam is carrying bags to the potting shed? He is out of the house more than he is in the house. At least at the start of this story, they had some tension when Adam snuck out of the house, now it's like he takes the monitoring device on and off like a sock and runs around the ranch with no fear of being discovered. Nobody ever wonders where he is and even when Heather and Rafe were in his bedroom, both seemed unconcerned that Adam was not around the house. They need to get rid of Adam, at least for a little while. He is worse than being evil, he is evil and a whiner.

    • Not mad at Leslie Locking Eva out, I think it's important for the audience to see her on her own for a while. Curious how scrappy and savvy on her own. Yeah, I am with you there. It feels a bit hollow; maybe if she was talking to Martin and Kat I would feel better about it. There must be more to this story. Daphnee and Ambry owned this episode. Tugging my heart in every scene. Nicole process hurt and anger much differently than Dani though.
    • I also really enjoyed Eva's scenes with Kat today. They have an interesting chemistry. I thought it really did feel a bit like sisters at conflict. Especially with the way that Eva was trying to convince Kat to forgive Ted and them both coming to the conclusion that the man they thought was their father was different wasn't who they really thought he was initially. And the way that Eva broke down when Kat said that she was dead to her was emotional stuff. I really do think that in spite of their conflict/bickering Eva really would have loved to have gained a sister, along with a brother, father, etc... Also, I thought it was interesting how Eva kept saying that she loves Ted and Nicole. That and Leslie mentioning that Kat/Eva are almost twins really does make me wonder if Kat may really be her twin and Nicole's as well. I would gladly welcome that outcome, even if it takes a while for it to come out. At this point Leslie doesn't deserve Eva as a daughter as far as I'm concerned. And I would forward to a storyline where we found out that she's Nicole's second baby girl, and all the complex and ultimately happy feelings that would bring Nicole. Eva/Kat could still have a rivalry, especially if Nicole ended up doing some more bonding with Eva. And then we could get the rest of the family's reaction to that as well.

What you NOT gonna do to me!
    • Bravo to every single person responsible for today's episode. From the writer on down to Kraft services. Yall I'm getting emotional but I wish my granny was here to have seen this soap since she was the one to introduce me to this medium.

    • Everything is fraught with confusion. Why is Leslie pleading with the Duprees to accept Eva? She's not biological family so what is this? She's the product of an affair with their in-law so Leslie wants them to accept her? I'm getting GOOD TIMES vibes of Leslie and Eva minus the physical abuse.
    • Big fan of today's writing. In particular, I like EJ complexity, crying over Johnny and conspiring at the same is tough to pull off in the same episode, but it goes very far in explaining EJ's motives. I don't hate the idea of Cat and EJ, and I especially appreciate everyone trying to warn her, but she is sticking to the plan. Boy oh boy, when Brandon Beemer wears a shirt that matches his eyes, I get lost in the screen!
    • Yeah, I think that Leslie's speech would have had a bit more of an impact if Ted had been the Dupree's son, with Nicole being the daughter in law they loved like a daughter. But being that he's the son in law, and that Eva (at least not right now) isn't technically a Dupree, it doesn't hold as much weight. They aren't caring much for Ted right now and their feelings could be trickling down to Eva. Though, I do think they have some sympathy for her. I really enjoyed today's show. Loved a stripped, down hurt but still strong in her resolve Nicole. DD continues to shine and shows why she is IMO the heart of the show. I felt her words, and anger at Ted and how she broke down in Kat's arms at the end. She is just wonderful all the way around. I also loved the way that Anita read Leslie. She was spot on about her and how mishandled everything with Ted and Eva. And speaking of Leslie... I immediately thought the same thing once I saw that scene. That what she exhibited was trash behavior. I don't think she's a good mother. In fact, I think she's lousy. Granted, I have missed some episodes, but I haven't really seen her do anything to indicate that she really cares for Eva or her well being. All she's really done is try and manipulate/use Eva for her own agenda since she came to town.
    • I thought Brandon C was much more believable as Martin today.  Before, I watched an actor trying to portray a character.  Friday and today, I simply felt the character.
