June 12, 200916 yr Member You know, I would actually care had we seen Noah interacting with his parents more frequently over the course of this pathetic storyline. That's a problem with this show, they give you some hints, and then they drop things and bring them up too late. Horrible pacing issue and horrible use of the character of Noah.
June 12, 200916 yr Member Noah and Eden can do it on the dining room table now during dinner and nobody can say sh*t to him. Sharon: Noah, honey, when you're finished could you, um, please pass the peas. Nick: Sweetheart, you don't want those peas now, trust me. Sharon: Oh. Eden and Noah: OH!! Victor: That's my grandson! I need to change underpants.

Noah is another plot point. He's not hte moral voice as they are trying to push he's the conflict when convenient and the reason when convenient I can't feel for his frustration because I don't get the equal love, hurt and appreciation inbetween. He's a puppet within the story Edited June 12, 200916 yr by classicmoment

He's a toy to the writers The problem is, I think, that he is not under contract. Thus we see him sporadically. In my opinion, Noah has earned his stripes, and deserves to be front-burner. I think the barrier is the over-stuffed canvas, which I would definitely like them to deal with.
June 12, 200916 yr Member I think they may see Noah as helping viewers feel sorry for Nick and Sharon.

Victor: That's my grandson!   It's laughable now when Nick attempts to play the domineering, "Don't you dare say that to your mother!" part. The directors should so be tongue-and-cheek in those scenes and zoom into Kevin's face as he breaks the fourth wall, looks right into the camera and says with a smirk, "You want me to slap him upside his head, don't you!!"

Just HAD to rain on my "Kevin Schmidt is a great find!!!" parade. What is up with you? Are you OK? Seriously? The show ain't THAT bad, dude. Do you want Sony to hire you or something?
June 12, 200916 yr Member I think they may see Noah as helping viewers feel sorry for Nick and Sharon. Are you saying they don't want us to feel sorry for them? I honestly can't figure out where they are going with this. I wonder if Victor telling Nick that recapturing the past doesn't always lead to happiness is a clue? It seems like Victor was playing the role of truthteller in that scene, but it's hard for me to accept that's the direction we are headed after everything.
June 12, 200916 yr Member Eh. No. I watch everyday, and I see the same problems everyday, so of course I'm going to keep bringing them up. The show is too much of a habit in my daily life to break, even when it's dreadfully bad, like it is now, IMO. Is it wrong that some of us simply don't like the direction that this show is taking? We still watch and this IS the discussion thread. When I tried to keep things on topic months ago, I was fed something about daily episodes having the power to branch off to other topics and about other areas of the show and that I should accept that, and I have. So just because I'm too "negative" I should stop posting here and my opinion about the current state of the show is not valid? Well, I don't care, this is the discussion thread, and I will continue to post how I feel about the show, regardless of what anyone thinks. Exactly. MAB is a solid if imperfect HW & you're not gonna get much better than her without a massive paradigm shift in Daytime. The darkness of her Y&R isn't really the problem it's the lack of business & strong women. Maria HAS to fix that.

I think they want viewers to see Nick and Sharon as facing difficult choices and wanting what is best, even if Sharon and Nick break up again soon. It's supposed to be about the journey. I don't know if they realized how many viewers were going to be so put off by the whoring around from all parties involved that it dilluted some of the sympathy viewers had for Sharon and for Nick. A way of getting some back is to have Noah lash out at them. They've done this with Sharon several times. They may think no matter how viewers feel about a female character, they will still feel sorry for her if her son rips her to shreds.

Do you want Sony to hire you or something? Schmidt is good but that good is undercut by TPTB's use of his character as a plot point. Like how Michael/Lauren are used to prop the rest of their rabid band of woodchucks.

No, the show could be much better than it actually is, and I do believe I stated a valid point.

And the problem with Noah is that he should be lashing out at NICK not Sharon.

I guess I felt Sharon and Nick's next reunion should be the closure to the story Cassie's death started 4 years ago. Because of all the whoring around I didn't get that. It's hard not to be disappointed.
