And I get the sense that the mess-ups will keep on coming.

Based on previews for Monday at the end of the ep (Phyllis in maid's costume)...Sharon is about to drive Phyllis insane...which is so pleasurable to contemplate.

Wacko meet nutjob!

But I want Phyllis fierce and angry and resolute...not crying and pleading. At this point, she needs to see that she has lost herself with him, and kick him to the curb.

Amen! I still cannot believe when they brought the character of Diane Jenkins back in 2001.... they did not even ask Alex Donnelly to reprise

Isn't it though? I have waited like over a decade for this facet of the character to be exposed. Phyllis was always best as an out of control, BSC psycho!

I've been thinking this since this storyline started; Case has been outstanding!

The BUG... please.GOD.NO. not in this lifetime do I ever want to see her back although I did like the idea of Paul leaving Nikki for her but that's only if and when they decide to write him off the show.

Victor and Nikki... not again, please. She's more tolerable with Paul than she has ever been with Victor.

I wouldn't mind the character of Diane Jenkins coming back with preferably Alex Donnely in the role although Susan Walters was good too.

I could care less about Raul returning, I don't see the need even if it is for Billy and Mac.

Once they put Phyllis into Nick's orbit, I knew eventually it would emerge. Nick is just the kind of guy who elicits this type of response out of Phyllis. Watching it play out in the hands of MAB instead of LML is going to be delicious.

Not to sound like Snobbie McSnoberson, but the "hired help" have been bugging me the past couple of days.

First we had Esther listening behind the door to hear Mac and Kay's conversation in order to relay it back to Chloe. Now, I love me some Liz Hendricksen and Chloe bitchtastic-ness but I also think that Mac & Billy are major Unfinished Business. Why is the nice-but-dumb Esther being roped in to spy on her beloved employer's granddaughter?

And then we have Estella's supercilious attitude towards Ashley. Don't even get me started on this woman's eye-rolling snootyness, heavy sighs of disdain and general freezing out of a precariously-pregnant woman who --gasp!-- happens not to be Victor'sOneTrueLoveAndTheTrueMistressOfTheRanch Nikki Newman. If Victor caught sight of that, Estella would be out on her ass.

I don't consider Esther "hired help", and I'm hoping that when all is said and done she's allowed to keep part of her "inheritance. As a matter of fact I thought I heard both Kay and Murphy ask Esther not to wait on them but she refused their pleas. I also don't view Esther listening behind the door as being roped into spying. Instead I see a mother looking out for her daugthers' interest especially since her(Esther) new son-in-laws' beloved ex has just come back to town and has decided to stay.

That's how I see it too. I don't think we're going to see Esther back in the maids uniform, she's now a mistress of the manner. Actually it doesn't seem to me that Kay is going to demand any one's inheritance back except, Jill's and the Jabot stock.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that Mary Jane asked about Jack's former wives! She only mentioned Phyllis and Sharon! Well - sounded like a clue to me. I could easily see it being Emma Gibbs too - although she has children and I'd think they'd be her primary concern, unless Victor's taking care of them. She sort of flinched when Jack asked her if she had any kids. And I just don't see her beef being with Jack -it should be Gloria, right? Although MJ hasn't had any scenes yet with Gloria so I can't be for sure. But she's very loyal to Victor - something he loves. And if he saved her from death and is taking care of her kids and she's got some twisted motive for gunning for Jack, I'd buy Emma. But Patty would be so much more. And do we really want this face cream fiasco to have even longer legs? Either way though SH is killing it and she's being set up to be a wonderful villainess.

I really like that MAB is giving us all these clues. So many times soaps never want you to figure out anything (cause they don't have anything figured out yet, Carmen Mesta's murderer for example). Does anyone know when her identity will be revealed? May sweeps?

1. Other former wives are Patty and Luan.

2. Patty was pregnant with Jack's child, but when she spied him with Diane in his office, she dashed out of his office and crashed into a standup ashtray. She later miscarried.

3. Patty could reasonably blame Jack for never being able to have children, getting a screwed up start in life, and feeling like she had to stay away from her family and Genoa City out of remembered pain.

You have convinced me this is Patty.

    • Thank you very much for the information!!! All the episodes that person sells are the ones which appear or have appeared in youtube, and some have wrong dates.  Due to that, I guess some people, who have rare and inedite episodes, refuse to upload them in internet, because then, others make money. I hope ABC create a place in the net where we can see all the available episodes they must have, as Retro tv did with the Doctors!!!!
    • Dina was Jack, Ashley and Tracy's mom on Y&R.  Joanna was Lauren Fenmore's mother, played by Susan Seaworth-Hayes.
    • The funeral was not onscreen - only the Brooks returning home after the service. Not aware of any available clips.
    • Very very well said!!!

I would only add that Sam Ratcliff is frequently named in regards to certain AW comedic turns.  And, we know from Carolyn Culliton (tweet 2024) that Sam & Gary put their heads together & came up with that gorilla.
    • I knew you would be so excited seeing your girl Brookey as #1!!!! She also WINS as to Frequently Married!!!
    • Yes, Stacy does this both for early DAYS & early GH. I have written some for her, for DAYS. But just one tiny point & that is that she only deals with DVDs. I realize that is not the point of your posting but it seemed the right thing to clarify. I know that you know that video tapes is past, not present.
    • Hahahha I think sleeping with almost all of your daughters's boyfriends and husbands and getting pregnant... definitely gives Brooke the right to top 1 place. Long live the whore of Beverly hills.

    • CurlyQGrl has DVDs of some episodes, that they can sell, but that doesn't matter. What is helpful: they describe the scenes on the tapes, so you can read that as recaps without ordering anything. Doesn't really give storylines, though, which is what you asked for.  Here's the links anyhow. full menu https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/menu.html GH page https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/menu.html GH 1960s https://www.angelfire.com/tv/curlyqgrl/gh/eps/gheps1960s.htm
    • I would argue that Another World never played "everything" for laughs. Even when there were comedic scenes in some storylines there were other storylines that were not intended as comedy.  You give 1988 as the end point, and Mary was on the canvas from August 1986 to February 1989, so she must have overlapped with the despised laughs you are referring to at least half of the time she was there. I honestly can't recall any real comedy that Mary would have been part of. I don't think she was lighthearted about choosing between two husbands, MJ's prostitution, Kathleen's death, or even her son Scott dating her daughter Cheryl.  I would have said that the amount of comedy depended on the head writer and there was more comedy under Richard Culliton and Gary Tomlin in 1984 than subsequent headwriters. I guess there was an outbreak of more comedy when Cecile kidnapped Cass from his wedding in 1986, but in general the Sin Stalker wasn't presented as funny, Mitch's return wasn't funny, John's arrival wasn't funny, Reginald wasn't funny. The tone was serious even if the plots verged on the ludicrous. And maybe that's what you mean -- but I would make a distinction between intentional comedy and storylines I can't take seriously for other reasons.
