Is she EVER going to get her memories back? Its almost going to be a year soon. Its beyond ridiculous. She doesnt even have flashes of her old life adn its not like they are dropping hints of wrapping this up. Are we supposed to just accept this new Marty indefinetly? Anyone hear anything in regards to her remembering?

From a recent interview:

Would you like to see [Marty] get her memory back?

SH: I don’t know if that’s necessary. It’s almost set now, and she keeps getting these flashbacks. I think that’s probably more interesting than just, boom, knowing everything. It’s more fun if it’s hard to figure out.

she had baby flashbacks of him before so its not really progress. Im talking about stuff that happened when she was on OLTL before. Flashbacks with the other characters. Viki, Blair, etc... WTF isnt she in therapy trying to get psychiatric help with her mental issue? Why isnt she seeing any doctors to help with the trauma she suffered from the accident. NOTHING is being done to actually fix her. That bothers me more than anything

Marty is lookin rufff with that blonde blown straight hair. She's not selling crazy, she's giving it away. She's always been a woman on the edge, but I don't see her getting better day by day, I see her working up to another meltdown first.

My complaint with Marty is whether she has amnesia or goes back to what she was, she's probably going to still be as out of place as she is now. Why do they keep her around John? Blair, Tea, and Marty are all being dragged down by the slugs John and Todd.

It took Nora several years to regain her whole memory. OLTL handled that much worse at the time than they have Marty's amnesia now, actually.

I don't expect her to be an amnesiac forever, and I wouldn't want her to be.

It's not like a character having never regained his/her memories has never happened in daytime. It's happened on GH, and Douglas Marland planned to do the same thing with Holden Snyder on ATWT.

I like it, it feels more realistic that a character, while they might have the occasional flashes, wont' regain their entire memory back, oh say like on DAYS when they had John regain all of his in a mere second. For me, it serves as a interesting way to re-estabish past relationships and a new start and take on the character.

Though I gotta say that OLTL is doing the above in the most disappointing of ways.

The only thing Nora didnt rememebr was the 3 months in which she was "dead" and held captive by Lindsay and Troy. She remembered everything else about her life and all the important details that made her who she was. Marty remembers absolutely nothing. She's had 2 flashes, one of Cole as a baby and bits of her rape. Nothing significant for her to connect to

    • Very disappointed in the writers in the way they are screwing with Nicole, Ted,  and Kat to make Leslie remain viable. So many holes everywhere.
    • Somebody brought this up elsewhere which emphasizes why this NuTed appears as such a weakling? Why is Kat doing what HE should be doing? And that's everything he can to rid him and his family of this crazy woman. Kat is doing all kinds of things she shouldn't do but now I understand her more. She can't count on her father to eliminate this woman because he's a wimp. He's been too busy inviting her into his home and serving her drinks and offering her invitations to birthday parties. WIMP!!!!

    • This is (maybe) overly simplistic and nonsoapy, but Doug needs to go to Gamblers Anonymous, to deal with the addictive neurological excitement hits that gambling gives him - and which control his life. Vanessa needs to go to therapy to find ways to remain healthfully lusty and sex-positive, but to stay away from anyone who would demean her.
    • YT keeps commending GL clips to me. I discovered Kathleen Cullen was on in Christmas 1987. Was there any talk of making it permanent  or was this just a special visit? I wish they had made the visit permanent. I liked her chemistry with Grant Aleksander.
    • I'm not sure it's as unpopular as you think.  I just think the show knew they were in a bind, and needed a proven couple for the viewers to invest in. Trying to reunite Vanessa and Ross had just failed in 87. I don't think Ed and Holly's affair was well received, as Simon and Garrett had a brother/sister chemistry. Enter Billy and Vanessa, who give you history and an out not to try and do a Josh/Reva/Billy triangle, which would've really wrecked the relationship between Josh and Billy. I'd have been ok with trying Vanessa/Ross again, and doing a Vanessa/Ross/Holly/Billy quad for a while. I hated Nadine. HATED. She had to be the most insufferable also-ran before ATWT's Julia Lindsay. This is where I wish I knew Roger's history better.

    • GROSS. Michael Swan was hot back in his ATWT days. Now he's 76 and WAY past his hot years.
    • Since she kidnapped, locked up and tried to kill her father's wife I'd say that is still a pretty big deal
    • I'm good with the gushing, too. There aren't many soap icons like John Black, and that's important to celebrate and remember. And yes, life does go on for other characters, but as they say, timing is everything. Going sky diving the day before the funeral? And during a week of shows that were so powerful emotionally? No.
