Candice-Glover-American-Idol-Top-20-500xAmber-Holcomb-American-Idol-Top-20-500x3

wub.png OMG...Top 2, please!

Candice...wow. One of the best performances on Idol that I have ever seen, right up there with my personal faves "Summertime" (Fantasia Barrino) & "Ring of Fire" (Adam Lambert). Her voice is just sensational. I adore her and, at this point, hope she wins!

And Amber...she's opening her shell up more & more every week and It's so beautiful to watch. She's a total star in the making. She hasn't had one bad performance yet.

Now prepare for a bunch of rolleyes.gif 's...

rolleyes.gifrolleyes.gifrolleyes.gif Ugh....

This guy & his permanent, phoney joker smile gets on my last [@#$%]ing nerves. His voice is NOT that great, I LAUGHED OUT LOUD when Jimmy told him that he "perpetually oversings." It's SO true. And that performance tonight was awful. He took Jimmy's notes and didn't oversing but it was still bad IMO. SORRY, SOAPSUDS! Something about him just seems so annoying & bogus to me. Overrated as hell. Goodbye!

rolleyes.gifrolleyes.gifrolleyes.gifrolleyes.gif I am so, so sorry but not.

I completely fail to see what's so great about Lazaro. Ok he's a nice little adorable guy w/an immense amount of courage, but that voice? NO....JUST NO. TERRIBLE. WHEN has he ever had a good performance where he was on pitch the whole time?! PLEASE tell me. He's literally ALL over the place everytime, IMO! I just don't enjoy his voice & how he seems so jittery & nervous all the time!

The rest of the contestants. Angie Miller - rolleyes.gif Like...I think her voice is good but something about her annoys me, kind of like how I was annoyed by Haley Reinhart during her season (read back a few pages)...but Angie's voice is MILES better than hers. Jimmy hit the nail on the head when he said she comes off like a pageant queen on stage when she's performing.

Still loving Kree.

Devin needs to step it up, I really want to root for him but, as Randy said, I thought that was a really safe/boring choice tonight. I really hope he makes it through because I want to see more of him.

Burnell is in my top 3. What a unique tone/voice, he's no doubt going to go places whether he wins this thing or not. I was so happy when Nicki mentioned his India Arie performance from the other night - that was THE BEST!

Janelle? Curtis? Eh!

Mariah can GO. Seriously. So done with her sugary sweet "judging." Does she even know how to give critique? She gives NO negative feedback or any constructive criticism like the others. She's always buttering them up & saying "Do what you do" or "I really loved your voice at the auditions [...] cant wait to see more" bitch please.

I finally got to see the show. i will be shocked if Candice doesnt win. She is by far the best from anyone else on there. Amber is [!@#$%^&*] overrated. I dont think she is all that...JMO of course...

My boy Paul....boy do I get gay vibes on him....maybe thats what you are seeing....lol....one of the female girl audience said she loved him and he had a weird reaction to it...lol....I thought check...thought so gay....lol ....I dont think he oversings his songs like Mariah said...I have a feeeling the producers dont want anyone overshadowing certain singers.

Lazaro....poor Lazaro...he has a great voice but the Breakaway song was a total disaster last night....

The rest of the singers in the competition..meh...dont care

I wonder to what extent was she reprimanded for being late last night.

I think they need to let Mariah comment first sometimes just to see how it goes down. Nikki has such sharper critique and by the time they get down the line to Mariah, she has scraps and basically puts a sweet bow on it. I have a feeling that's what it would be like if they started with her anyway, but still, just curious.

    • Yes, they did.  I still have them.  I think there were three.  AMC and GH as well.
    • Ah okay, thats what I thought. I was hoping I missed the announcement somewhere. Thanks for the clarification.
    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.

    • Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
    • When she first appeared, I was sure she was setting Tyrell up for a prank. She was too much of a manic pixie dream girl- I wasn't surprised Tyrell also became suspicious. Now I'm not so sure. If Jessica genuinely likes Tyrell, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have started her out as a bully, then we see her gradually catch feelings for Tyrell.  The McBrides are definitely the "C" family of BTG. They always get last priority. There have been a few times where the Doug/Vanessa/Joey characters reference off screen conversations which seem too important to not show us. Like when Doug thanked Joey for giving him extra time to pay off the loan. When did that happen? Or when we abruptly moved from Vanessa/Joey at Uptown to Vanessa/Doug in the hotel room. The McBrides don't even have their own set - even though Vanessa is a realtor. It's a shame because I am a fan of the characters and actors.

I am also adjusting to KR as Ted but I feel that AM and MJ had way more chemistry as father and daughter than AM and KR. We saw Eva dream of having a real relationship with MJ's version of Ted for months so it's a bit of a bummer not to have that payoff with the original actor except for those scenes in MJ's last episode.  Something I noticed about Eva today is how she takes genuine delight in being a schemer. As badly as she wants to be a Richardson, she still has so much of her mom in her. It was jarring seeing her earnestly promise to steer clear of Leslie in her scene with Ted, then immediately switch attitudes when her mom showed up.  I'm very surprised with how quickly the accident story has been moving along. I was sure that it would be months if not years before people figured out it was Leslie on the motorcycle, not to mention responsible for the potassium overdose. I'm looking forward to seeing how MVJ and Guza avoid writing Leslie into a corner.  Finally, I have been loving the Articulettes story. Bonita Brisker was just the right amount of OTT - remember Sharon is supposed to be even more angry than Tracy is. If Sharon didn't come in swinging, people would say she fell flat. The way Sharon and Tracy describe the breakup is so Supremes-meet-Original Recipe Destiny's Child. I get the sense that MVJ is re-writing the Return to Love Tour as a roman a clef, and I love it. I'm looking forward to finding out what the secret they share is. If Dante Green is as shady as Berry Gordy was, it's something dark. If/when they go through with the reunion, I expect Dante to show up and claim to own the Articulettes trademark in a Lou Pearlman-esque twist.
    • Other than hanging out with Liz, all of Lucky's stories have been stalled out or dropped; the relationship with his son; his wanderlust. He hasn't been involved in any of the action/adventure or con artist stuff. I don't think he's even had a scene with Sidwell since the latter came to town. He's a real after thought. I doubt he's long for the show.
