I have to admit I don't even know who most of his surrogates are (AOC and Susan Sarandon excepted). I haven't seen cable news in forever. I actually miss it during election time because I'm interested in politics, but not enough to seek it out the way I would have to now. I also tuned out of the primary pretty early on for the sake of my sanity. I'm just glad he actually stepped aside this early on. I feared it would drag out to the bitter end again.

I wish we could wrap Biden and RBG in a protective life force shield right now.  I feel wrong for saying that because I know their lives are more than politics, but damn. Please let them stay safe for the sake of the greater good.

Oh, I don't watch cable news. At all. Sadly those people are all on Twitter, which I do check. Someone posted a tweet from Briahna "Joy" Gray, Sanders' communications spox upthread and she's incredibly toxic.

IKR?  It's tragic how the last four years have brought us to the moment where everything is riding on Joe Biden and Ruth Bader Ginsberg staying alive through November and beyond.  Donald Trump and his ilk have destroyed America so much.

Biden will make the most important VP pick in a generation. because of his age, he must choose someone who can be POTUS, not just help him win votes.

Oh yeah. The one who said she could now drop the democrat in front of socialist. 🙄 How helpful at a time when we need people to wake up and strengthen the social safety net. In reality I suppose it's too late and there is going to be a lot of pain for many people.

I really feel bad for older millennials.  They were screwed when they graduated and they are about to be screwed again. I guess you could say that is true of everyone who was around during the last economic crisis, but that generation had a hard time even getting their footing and here we go again.

All that idiocy tells me is Diaper Don was looking forward to being able to smear Bernie with the scary "socialism" label and was praying Bernie would be the nominee. But - despite being impeached because of doing so - his attempted smearing of Joe Biden did not work and now Don knows he must go up against him.

Don is TERRIFIED of Joe Biden, hence all the machinations.

So despite his constant wackadoodle rants, a part of me is happy because I know he is scared and miserable and it is all he deserves.

And it isn't just Diaper Don. Martha McSally in Arizona was trying to tie Mark Kelly - who is beating her in polls - to Bernie and socialism (hence why the presidential nominee is important to down-ballot races!) and now that's gone. Oops!

That must be why the government magically gave Arizona PPE supplies and McSally is doing a victory lap.

Sadly, Trump is still getting what he wants - he put out an incoherent ad tying Biden to China, and the media ate it up. Bernie supporters are widely circulating it and using it to show everyone that Trump will win in a landslide. They're also still pushing the incoherent Tara Reade story. And telling everyone that Trump has more progressive policies than Biden. They will do anything to get him a win.

There will ALWAYS be loons, and there will always be media smearing. Don't forget a big detail: The voters who are not fanatically behind Trump that voted for him four years ago because he was outside the box now know the truth. And Trump has not built up his base.

Add in, too, that Bernie-Bots are always loud, but loud does NOT equal big. Bernie's support SHRUNK this year.

I know all about getting discouraged, but try not to get stuck in it: It's what these a-s-s-h-o-l-e-s want. And I will not give it to them.

I'm not a very optimistic person by nature, and I guess days like today when I read that Trump is trying to kill the Post Office, that bird has flown away entirely, but I hope you're right.

FWIW, Republicans have been trying to privatize the Post Office for far longer than Trump has been in office, the way they've been trying to kill PBS since PBS's inception.

It's not new, but defunding during a pandemic feels like an escalation even for them.
