Members Juliajms
I don't want to believe it, but I do. I guess we'll see if the video surfaces. Looks like that far right rally was an utter failure. Supposedly there is a lot of infighting within these hate groups. Every once in awhile there is some good news.
Members Khan
What else can you say? Hate breeds only more hate. I wonder how involved the right and far right are in these allegations against Keith Ellison. It seems like they've been working hard lately -- practically since the beginning of the #MeToo movement -- to target those on the left for bad behavior. Unfortunately, the left isn't finished yet with playing the victim to realize what the other side is actually doing.
Members DramatistDreamer
What's going on today? First Stephen Miller's uncle publicly calls out his nephew for being an "immigration hypocrite" now this. I guess some relatives have finally had enough? Members marceline
This is how you can tell that the current GOP is a cult. Families having to cut of members because of what they've become. It's something a lot of "regular" Americans need to start thinking about when it comes to their friends and family.

Members DRW50
One last flush down the toilet for "Sam's Club Republican" T-Paw, a craven husk of a sellout who trashed Minnesota and then cashed out. I wonder if his old booster Chris Cillizza had anything to say. I doubt it...he seems to be too busy with his usual hee hee ha ha on Twitter. http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2018/08/tim-pawlenty-loses-minnesota-gubernatorial-primary.html Please register in order to view this content

Members DRW50
I know it's Glenn Greenwald but I read an article on The Intercept saying that the Chamber of Commerce, MoveOn, and that Bernie group all endorsed her primary opponent, and there are some other odd things that went on as well: https://theintercept.com/2018/08/14/connecticut-primary-mary-glassman-moveon-chamber-of-commerce/ She seems very qualified, so it makes no sense to me. I hope they will support her for November as I think this is a swing district.
Members DramatistDreamer
It makes a warped kind of sense when you realize that Connecticut is one of the most unequal states in the country and this inequality is steeped in many aspects, chief among them are racial lines. I have family ties to the Northeast and Connecticut is one of those states where I have familial connections. I have also worked in the state and have personally felt the sting of prejudice while there, if not overt racism. People like Jahana Hayes (and myself) are not supposed to be in positions of authority, or power or influence, so the thinking goes. Connecticut has had a number of white male politicians who were utterly corrupt (hence the nickname "Corrupticut" that was once the moniker of the state) who have each tried to exert and regain influence, some after stints in prison. The district that Hayes is running in leans left, as does much of the state. I don't remember Bernie's folks endorsing Stacey Abrams and despite all the hullabaloo, they didn't endorse Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez either. Hm, I'm noticing a pattern. Does anyone else?
Members Khan
I always remember what @marceline said on here a long time ago: "Well, [Bernie needs to stop 'working for me'] before someone burns a cross on my lawn!"

Members juppiter
Democrat Andrew Cuomo said today that America was never that great. Sad thing is, he will still probably be elected this fall. But it kind of dooms him in the 2020 presidential campaign. That is a sound bite that can be repeated ad nauseum. Honestly, the polls have Nixon way behind, but I could truly see her pulling an Ocasio-Cortez on him. NY resident my entire life, both upstate and downstate, and his poll numbers surprise me. I don't think he is as popular as his poll numbers suggest. Nixon is a dark horse, but her chances are higher than 0%.
Members DramatistDreamer
The Trump administration's new "War On Drugs" seems just as ineffective as Reagan and Nixon's 'Wars on Drugs'.
