I hear you. I only had that thought because of how often the right used the whole "Obama is coming for your guns" rallying cry to scare the gun lovers.  As far as I know that was all basically fantasy. I just wish it were true and he had that kind of power.

I wonder if the movement underway right now can gain traction?I certainly hope it will, but as we've both mentioned at times, if Sandy Hook didn't wake people up, will anything? In a better place having these young victims advocate for themselves would be shaming us all into action, but you see how strongly some on the right are even trying to attack these kids. It's beyond disgusting.

My only concern would be for Obama's safety in regards to those crazy gun nuts if he really did try to come for their guns.

The attacks on these high school kids are unconscionable.

If shame is the only tool they have to use to get some positive action, I say "shame away!"

I'm really trying to ignore the Dinesh D'Souzas of the world. Since I was a child, I've loathed him...ever since I saw an interview with him on PBS where he defended the racist Bell Curve theory.

People are shocked by him, I'm not, he's been a brown-skinned white supremacist for decades now.  Others are now getting to see how vile a human being he truly is.

So, she voted for Trump because she "wanted to shake up the status quo"?  Am I reading that right?  Well, if THAT was her intent, then why didn't she vote for Gary Johnson or Jill Stein?  Hell, why didn't she do a write-in for some other person?  Why Trump?  You wanna shake things up, fine, but don't do it with someone who represents the very attitudes about the white male patriarchy that you've supposedly been fighting against all your life.  It makes you look like a damn hypocrite.

Roseanne is just dissembling to avoid acknowledging her mistake these days. Like a lot of old people.

Speaking of old people making mistakes!

Bernie's just like Trump. Nothing is ever his fault. That said I think we've finally reached the tipping point of his little "revolution." If he really did think about running in 2020, he's toast. Between Russia and his past gun votes, he's on the wrong side of two of the biggest issues we will be hearing about for the next few years.

I hope you're right. I'm starting to think he's tone-deaf enough to run again.

Me too. I've never doubted it. I agree with some of his positions (although I thought others were unrealistic) and I did like him at one point. His ego is out of control though. He just has too much baggage after all that Bernie Bro business.

He may try and run again but it won't work.

First, he won't be allowed to run as a Democrat again so he'll have to run as an independent. He's too lazy to do that. He wants to exploit the infrastructure of the DNC. Second, the Russia investigation is going to take him apart. He will forever be stained with the fact that a foreign power used him as a weapon and we haven't even scratched the surface of what Mueller has. Third, a number of states are passing laws requiring that presidential candidates show tax returns. Fourth, he's being vetted now and his record is crap plus the oppo research out there is just waiting to be used.

He's going to keep grifting but Sanders 2020 died this week.

And not a moment too soon.

It's really a shame how the Russians used so many of us through people like Bernie and Jill.  But, in a way, I guess we had it coming.

This is so pathetic.

I watched the gun violence "listening" session. Of course, the majority of the people there were people who were advocates for preventing gun violence through mental health means, people who want school employees  to carry guns, and people who want heavily armed security. Trump suggested that  gun free zones should be elimmated and that vets should be armed and work undercover as school employees.

I think the kids may actually turn the tide on this one long-term. This is brutal.
