What is it with Illinois governors? Is Blago still making license plates?

I think we have the record for Governors going to prison. Blago, Ryan, Walker, Kerner and the list goes on.

Our idiot Governor in Illinois has been using him in his campaign ads. He pulled them all today.

His opponent should grab those ads and start running them again.

Nobody cares about the retail job losses because most of those workers are female and minority. Remember that the only working class people that matter are white.

I recently read a post that stated that 10% of Amazon's employees are on food stamps.  The idea that you are working yet still need public assistance makes me angry!  People seem to care very little, I guess they figure the numbers are not as much as at Walmart.

Here is an article about how illegal border crossings have surged after a temporary slowdown (That Trump Inc. promptly bragged about).

In fact, today's numbers have doubled those of last spring!

remember this.....my home state has always put hypocrites and losers in that seat. I have to go back to my childhood to Joe Teasdale. now since it has ht the national news (and the local news here is all over it) wonder if he'll be forced to step down?

Another "Democrats hate the heartland" article. I'm sure we've already read all this before. This one is especially strange to me as they have chosen to frame the mainly Republican voter's saying he won't ride in a truck with anyone who is Muslim as merely a simple disagreement that "intolerant" liberals don't respect. It reminds me of the ridiculous double standards that those in the middle or on the left face, as Republicans are hard right in every single area and are still called "big tent" and "inclusive." The Beltway would do anything for them.

Don't be fooled by the hype about Walmart raises - they're closing a bunch of Sam's Club stores to make up for it. Thousands of jobs gone.

Meanwhile, Nancy Pelosi's desperate attempt at pandering just shoots the party in its own feet. I can see why some have had enough.

Me too. It's wrong on so many levels.  Not only do these people have to work their asses of for a pittance, but they have to deal with being shamed by the jackasses among us. Plus corporations are using tax payer money to subsidize their inadequate pay.

I said pretty much the same thing when I noticed they were installing even MORE self-checkout machines at all my local Walmarts and Walmart Neighborhood Markets.  I think there are other, better ways to raise employees' wages without shutting down stores or relying more on automation -- but I doubt the folks in charge care to consider them.

Agree with you, Julia, and with DD.

I thought the whole point was the Burns was a Democrat? That's why Goodin said he doesn't make a point of the 10% of things he and Burns disagree on.

The premise of the story seems to be that we should be tolerating their intolerance to get a bigger base.  I don't agree with that at all, but that's what I got from it.

I thought they were suggesting that that state rep was the only Democrat he voted for.

Either way I thought it was another attempt at pushing the narrative even further on extreme views.

To be perfect and frank, I'm not tolerating a mother [!@#$%^&*] thing from people who'd just as soon spit on my ass or set me on fire than treat me as their equal.  I'm just not.  And if NOT tolerating them means killing the Democratic Party, then...well...nothing lasts forever.

Damn right.  Both of the guys in this story are highly unlikable to me. They may be democrats economically, but not socially.  Burns thinks all Muslims are terrorists. I just don't agree that we should coddle that kind of ignorance.  We've done enough of that as a nation and we are paying the price as we speak.

The word of the day, ladies and gentlemen, is "shithole".

So, yep, CNN is saying "shithole" on the air. pic.twitter.com/kiPZhJ34o3
