Members DRW50
I think Joe Public is not going to hear much about this either way, but I don't trust the media enough to believe they will stick to their guns. If they can find a way to either both sides or say that this was a win for Trump because he got to condemn bigotry in his party (even though he didn't) or it took focus away from Harris, I think they will. I know that's very cynical but I just don't trust them. And even if they do care now it is too little, too late.

Members Wendy
As some will attest here, I have been anxious as hell the last few weeks. Tonight, I'm not. Oh, Trump CAN still win. I'm not naive. But I also feel that this Madison Square Garden Nazi Tribute (that's what this was!) ended up being a HUGE mistake for Trump. Even the media, which is usually content to carry his dirty water, was beyond disgusted and disturbed. I think the REALITY of what Donald Trump is was shoved out for all to see, and it was disgusting and blatant and NOT what a candidate wants voters to be left thinking of only eight days before an election.

Members DRW50
All the years that Joan Baez was mocked as dour and tedious, but she is still so vibrant, more than many people half her age. This got lost in all the other ugliness of the hate rally, but still seems important:

Members JaneAusten
I don't see this happening. I mean people comparing a 4th level comic to Don Rickles also. There were people who were offended by Rickles, but Rickles was actually a sweet man and his jokes hit everyone. Big difference between someone who punches at everyone especially the powerful and a 4th grade comic who only punches down. As for George Lopez, he's Mexican. Self deprecating humor is also different.
Members DramatistDreamer
Honestly, I have heard nothing about George Lopez. I honestly had no idea what it is you are talking about. Maybe because I live in the NYC tri-state area, it’s all over the news. AOC is upset about it and has a huge platform, she already has a discussion with Tim Walz posted on her YouTube channel. Lest we forget, Puerto Ricans don’t only live in the NYC metropolitan area. There has been an influx of migration from the island to Florida and Pennsylvania, and other states…if the Trump campaign weren’t panicked about this they wouldn’t be doing backflips to try to dissociate themselves from this comedian.

Members JaneAusten
I was up in Milwaukee canvassing on Saturday. At the end of the day I let a conversation I had with a friend who lives in the area distract me for the next several hours, but it's nice to see this. The office we worked out of on Saturday was bustling. People in and out constantly. But it was a beautiful fall day weatherwise, and we had some good conversations and most people we spoke to were excited and motivated. We were knocking on democratic and independent doors. Please register in order to view this content I've been doing phone banking off and on for weeks now for the same group I had been in the past 2 elections. We're getting even more positive response from the Independent and Republican women being targeted then the last election. I want to remind people women are a higher percentage of the population and we also vote at a higher percentage. I'm cautiously optimistic but I encourage ANY OF YOU, goto the Harris-Walz campaign site and look for a phone bank shift. They train you and all you need is a PC with a mic and speaker. LETS GO!!!
