It's so depressing. I am generally a glass half full person, but I agree with Carl. So the president of the united states basically can get away with anything and remain untouched. I have zero faith left in the media. They will continue to push Trump not caring about the continual damage to this country. And I am so tired of hearing about "it's politics" and how the dems hands are tied. When does standing up for the rule of law and constitution come into play.

I heard someone involved in Watergate say Nixon had it not been for the tapes would have gotten away with all of it. I'd frankly rather have Nixon than this evil SOB. Maybe Nixon would have been worse since he understood the machinations of the gvmt more, but why does it matter really since Trump has no interest or desire to follow anything and can get away with it.

This is a tough time but one thing that gives me hope is that the corrupt machine that helped bring us Trump is slowly being dismantled. Manafort is in prison, Cohen is going to prison, the NRA is having real financial problems, Julian Assange is in custody (my personal favorite) and will very likely never breathe free air again, the National Enquirer has been sold, etc... It's easy to feel like there has been no justice but there has been and there will be more. What it will cost us to get there is the real question.

Exactly.  And you know what else?  If Trump is actually voted out of office, I doubt anyone from the GOP will be on-hand to shield him or his associates from the SDNY, because they would no longer be of use to them.

ICAM!

I'm surprised Elizabeth Warren is calling for his impeachment. She's a very intelligent person who knows how this would end. It feels like a Hail Mary for a campaign that has stalled.

Democrats are repeating 2016 all over again, between the purity contests and the obsession with Trump over our own policies or values.

I can't shake the feeling that he's getting reelected.

Yeah I doubt you'll hear anyone else call for impeachment. I'm kind of sad Warren hasn't gained more traction , but maybe it's a lesson she should have run when the iron was hot in 2016 for her.

As for what the democrats are saying, I'm taking a lesson from what people are actually talking about at townhalls and when out talking to voters which is NOT impeachment, Trump, or Russia. I heard all the same things about what democrats were doing wrong in 2018 and won state races and record numbers in the house. And there is lots of time. We haven't even had the first debate yet.

You're not the first person I've heard who has said she should've run in '16.  I agree with y'all, though.  EW's moment has passed.  Her best hope, IMO, would be to snag the VP nod with whoever runs against Trump.  That way, she has an opportunity to make herself relevant once more.

Oh, I feel like that's a done deal.  Especially if we end up with Bernie, Buttigieg or even Beto as the nominee.  (Again, I don't want to pick a horse this early in the race, but I really feel like Biden -- yes, another straight, white, older male -- is our best, safest bet against a second Trump administration).

It's just like when George W. Bush ran for re-election against John Kerry.  Just about everyone agreed that, had there been no 9/11, he would've been toast after one term (like his dad before him).  Nevertheless, there seemed to be this ingrained notion on the voters' part that he was "entitled" to a second term, regardless of how ineffectual he had proven himself to be (and, of course, that he and his team lied us into a war we're still fighting), and that we should "let him finish what he started."

Plus, I don't trust Berners anymore, after what happened in '16.  If Bernie doesn't get the nomination this time, they'll have no problem voting third-party or sitting out again, just so they can screw the rest of us (again) for not letting their savior run (again).

I think Biden would have won in 2016. I'm not sure about now.

VP selection will be more crucial that ever this time around. I'm especially wary of Bernie as I am pretty sure he will just pick a crony, and treat them as a token or a lapdog.

I feel like the whole Pete Buttigieg boomlet, brief as it will be, is just another way for corporations to move white, rich gay men away from the rest of the lgbt community, which is already happening anyway.

    • It seems obvious based on the initial material that Korte was going to take another foolish run at Jason and Carly a la 2021 and hoped Mulcahey being back would make it work, as he wrote such famous material for Steve, Sarah, etc. I think a couple good dialogue scenes came out of them together very early on, but there was never any denying that Steve and Laura have never had and will never have any romantic chemistry, plus the audience doesn't want it. So they pivoted to her with that useless dayplayer (Brennan) and now here they all are, spinning their wheels doing nothing of value on the show. I do think PM had planned to do much more with Jason's sons and that rivalry/friction, but once he was gone so was Jake. I've rarely seen any of the core mob 3 feel so totally extraneous and directionless on the canvas. Not that I mind. Anything that makes Jason easier to get rid of works for me.
    • I just edited the 1998 SOD Awards & Laura Wright won Best New Character for Cassie on GL. Also Philip & Harley won something of some name for them as a couple & when they finished saying their effusive thanks at the mic, Grant picked Beth up & literally threw her over his shoulder & walked backstage that way. I mean, it's great that Beth Ehlers is a good sport, right?

    • nothing. The story was put on the backburner while they focused on other stuff. I think thats one of the issues i have with the show in that it sometimes struggles with balance as stories will disappear for weeks and then reappear (Chelsea's throuple for example)
    • I HATED Infinity (I could care less about Kyle Sampson and his hanger ons and the dumb Lujack video, and Mindy and Kurt were strong armed into being a fave couple and married off way too soon (Jeva didnt get that big of a wedding.) I did like the Fishing Mystery (despite the changing of history..it was murky enough that it could be fudged) and the Cabin mystery started out good ..I thought Tony was hot and I liked Annabelle, it had supernatural elements but they did not overtake the story (i.e. Reva traveling through time..) and I love a gothic mystery.. however, it was bizarre that nosy Nola wasnt in the mix...she barely seemed interested that her sister in law was psychic, there may be ghosts in her brothers house, etc.  I don't know if there was a behind the scenes issue with Brown and Kobe, or if Long just wanst interested or felt tied up writing for Quola.  I would have had Quint blow up in the cabin instead of Hillary but..The big problem that the end result was...boring. Okay so there are black Spauldings..and they disappeared...so what now? Not only was J gross...(I can't believe the actor IS actually just as obnoxious as J) they made Chelle into an airhead horn dog going after her cousin. Yes, by adoption but still her cousin. I wondered why she was not calling Nola "Aunt" when she first arrived, and they barely acknowledge each other ( I would think Nola would glomb on to mothering her sister's daughter, especially with Stacy not in town, much to Ed's chagrin) but it was in service to...this??? Wait until Chele gets all horny for an angel...oyyyy! No one else in town reacted to Nadine's death,, cause Deas had to have his big dumb over the top reaction scene to Deenie's death. I can't imaging watching that scnene and thinking he was a good actor!

I know, I'm getting the sense they expected Beaty to stay if they were going the rehabilitation route with Abby. A few weeks ago, when Michelle was dressing sexy for her date with J, she let Abby try on a dress and Rick then taught her what dating was like, and she went in and kissed him. They were clearly setting up the Abby/Rick story, but then suddenly it has pivoted to Rick falling back in love with Annie and trying to convince her not to go to Josh since he and Reva are secretly meeting at the cabin (Annie is getting unhinged here). But with Rick focused on Annie again, it would have left room for Abby to work with Brent, had Beaty stayed (at least this is what I'm assuming based on what I'm seeing). Rick is also now in Blake's orbit - they both just got in a bar fight post-Ross/Amanda kissing and Annie rejecting Rick's advances. They're together and Blake is now coming onto Rick while they drink... uh oh.
    • She is truly in such a delusional state that it's hard to know what's true but I'm sure there are some easter eggs in there. I am very curious to see how they utilize Leslie now that everybody knows who she is. If they do go with a connection to Anita in someway that would definitely be interesting. Anita was the first and only person so far that Leslie seemed intimidated by.
    • I do get your point about the Q's stuff with Lois back in the day.  I will say there were a lot more Quartermaines and a lot more stupid, corrupted plotting in the 90's.  I think the show went out of their way to make Lois seem almost naive, unprepared for such an insane family The whole idea that Lois had to move far away from Ned and PC to raise Brook Lynn was a bit flimsy for me as well.  I mean, no judgement, but BLQ still got knocked up as a teenager lol.  I appreciated Lois was also hard on Sonny back then.  Lois could clearly see his flaws even if she loved him. Yeah, Sonny, Carly and Jason don't really deserve human connections with anyone but themselves lol.  I always have wondered if the show did want to re-pair Jason/Sam and whatever happened with Kelly happened.
