Wow, Rubio is way out of his depth. He should have left public life after his Republican primary humiliation. There’s no way he could ever win a national election, and that’s the only reason why he’s still in the senate: to build a resume for an eventual presidential run.

Idina Menzel should play Dana Loesch in the inevitable movie.

No matter what happens next, I remain so very proud of what these students (and others) are accomplishing tonight; and I PRAY the next generation proves me wrong and actually foments change -- not just in gun control reform, but all across the board.  We let them down, but God willing, they'll clean up our messes.

The kids are very good on social media and much more adept than the right wing - Emma Gonzalez and David Hogg are especially formidable. I think they will outlast the trolls.

Case in point, this kid dunking on O'Reilly:

This is absolutely correct, BTW - he is a coward who hates direct confrontation and thrives on approval, this situation is a nightmare for him like DACA and he will flail trying to blame it on others while also trying to do nothing:

this shows this is a matter literally of life and death....she's a republican from what I heard, and doesn't give a damn about party where innocents are being murdered in schools. 33,000 people died last year alone due to gun violence in this nation.

BOOM: CNN is reporting that President Trump is trying to force National Security Adviser McMaster out of the White House after months of personal feuds with him.

Susan Lucci is a Republican.  However, she's also a mother and grandmother; and IMO, anyone who is a parent and/or grandparent canNOT just sit back on this and say, "Oh, well."  People are always crying, "What about the children?"  Well, for once, let's actually DO something to protect those children.  Because, at this point, this is about more than some frigging amendment to the Constitution.  This is about ensuring our children are kept safe in their classrooms.  Point. Blank. Period.

Susan Lucci is a class act. Proof that you don't have to vote down party lines 100% of the time in some kind of rabid, cult-like trance (ahem Alabama Reps who still voted for Ray Moore).

Watching Dana Loesch and Wayne LaPierre scream in barely-concealed rage about how guns don't kill people -- but also threatening blood-swept violence and civil war if their assault-weapon penis extensions are taken away from them. Isn't that inciting violence?

    • One of the dumbest situations (Lando) ever. What audience member is going to invest in a storyline with a recast they don't like and a triangle where one character is short-term? It bombed as it should have done. So much of JFP's tenure just reeks of desperation. I don't get how someone could produce SB (which did have flaws but was often brilliant) but make so many terrible mistakes at GL.   I still think JFP would have worked better as a director and music supervisor. Her music work at SB was top notch.

    • We see the same with GH, where Mark Teschner, the casting director, reportedly has less say since Frank Valentini took over. Some producers want to take over every aspect of their shows.  I think Lando may have been a CBS push.
    • No idea but she won Emmys & she was the Casting Director at the same time for both ATWT & GL. She hired Lisa Brown with no job for her. Then Marland made Brown his muse so he created both Iva & Nola for her. But, I think we know that Jill does what Jill wants.
    • I did notice a decline in the quality of the performers being cast once Betty R vacated/retired from her position. We would have been spared from the nightmares of some of the castings that dominated the show in the last decade or so of the soap. JFP was an example of someone, no matter the gender, who had no business being in the position they were in.
    • If Betty Rea was the casting director, why was so much of GL during JFP's reign cast by her? Walker, Deas, Crampton, Lando, etc. JFP takes credit for Dusay as well. What is the point of having a casting director, if you don't let her do her job? What happened when Rea left?
    • So much on here slips my mind but this is the first I remember hearing of Peterson's passing. Very sad. Nell was a thankless role, clearly set up for a cheating storyline with Frank, but Peterson did her best.  Betty Rea Rea was the casting director for the soap opera “Guiding Light” from 1970 to 1996 and simultaneously the casting director for “As the World Turns” from 1979 to 1983.
    • Sorry, just one more post on the Thorntons. How did Ruth and Edna feel about each other prior to Tad dating Dotty?
    • I can't remember exactly but I think it may be 1995 as Jake was trying to hide from a loan shark.
