The minions turn on their leader.

Bernie probably didn't realize how many of his followers just love being outsiders and love the nihilism of Nader-think, and once he stops saying what they want to hear, they're done with him. These people want Trump to be President. They barely bother to hide it.

CNN is saying its about 20% of BS supporters that are causing the ruckus. I can't believe those protesters of Bernie are yelling some of the same stuff the Trump supporters were spewing at the convention at Hillary and they want Bernie at the top of the ticket….laughable.

It's a tempest in a teapot. Like the abortive NeverTrump floor revolt last week, it will be forgotten by tonight.

As for the typical convention bounce, I'm not worrying about Trump's yet.

I am sure it will be but the democrats better get off their asses and start attacking the other side. Playing Mr. Nice Guy hasn't gained them anything and I am sure there is more dirt(emails) the Russian hackers will release.

No one can tell me that there is nothing in terms of Trumps connection to Russian financiers that can be dug up and leaked. Something needs to be done to discredit this man that can stick with Americans.

They've been attacking Trump for months! And Trump is as discredited as he's going to get - there are decades of dirt. The only thing to do now is keep hammering away at every minute detail of it.

I don't know the media just turns their head and laughs. Well at least they did. I haven't seen anyone really challenge him head to head. Those debates were a joke and the media let him run all over them. And we know the democrats have a track record of complacency IMO.

I've seen the media challenge him plenty post-primary, when (some of them) realized they had to get serious. Some of it sticks, some of it doesn't. Some relapse, some don't. All you can do about it is keep pushing.

You can either talk about past behavior and track records or deal in what is actually happening. The DNC and Clinton have been running very effective ads against Trump for months.

I agree that The democrats have been running some effective ads. The one with children watching the TV while Trump says some of the awful things he's said is good.  I also wish they would break it down for people in simple of terms though. What happens if we don't pay our debts? What happens if we don't honor are commitment to allies? What happens if we actually managed to deport 11 million people?

Maybe even that wouldn't help, since I think Trump was on to something when he said he could shoot people and his followers wouldn't care. Maybe this is a little like Britexit in that there is a substantial portion of people who want to hurt the elite at any price.

Some of these people at the convention are, simply put boorish! They are chanting loudly for Bernie and the revolution but since many of the speakers have been minorities, it has the effect that they shouting down minorites- mainly women and blacks.  It looks truly distasteful!

Yeah, they're trying to shout down Elijah Cummings. They also called John Lewis a sellout a few months back.

It's shitty but I do think it'll all amount to about as much as the #NeverTrump agita come tonight or tomorrow. It's just that social media (and right wing/Berniebro spam trolling on Twitter) makes things look much bigger than they actually are.

Oh it must depend on the markets because I haven't seen any anti Trump Clinton ads here.

I did see the one today with the kids watching Trump on TV. First one I have seen. That one is scary and effective. But I like the idea of simplification. That stuff sticks with people.

And honestly I would love the answer to what would happen if we don't pay our debts because I really have no idea what would actually happen. I think trump thinks you can just screw other countries like he has screwed vendors and it's no problem. The US will just file bankruptcy.

Thank you for your concern. If you think Trump is seriously going to do well in a live debate one on one you're living in a vastly different world from ours.

    • The Saturday 8pm slot usually had the lowest rating of the NBC 4 sitcom lineup for some reason. NBC let Saturday night fizzle, They used 9.30 pm to launch 227 and Amen, both of which moved to earlier in the evening but they  kept Empty Nest following GG for several seasons.  Empty Nest should have moved to 8pm with their strongest new sitcom at 9.30, anticipating that GG would eventually falter. Instead they left them there and stretching the sitcom pool too thinly on other nights. When Grand talk over at 9.30 Thurs maybe Night Court and Wings could have been used on Saturday.
    • @Maxim Great to see your mini-reviews again. There are a number of clips on Youtube of Janice's slow mental breakdown, especially as we go into January 1980. Christine Jones is just superb. She played the hell out of that role. Something which isn't referenced as much later on is how Mitch pushed Janice's doubts and mental instability for his own ends...until suddenly he didn't want to anymore (I guess he caught on with the audience and the show became wary). I don't want to post a bunch of clips, but this one has a very good confrontation between Rachel and Janice.

This has a good scene around 7 minutes in where you can see Janice struggling internally with her need to identify herself so much by the men around her, all of which helps lead to her crackup.
    • It really made Oscar the Doorman seem like an imbecile.   I think the show's unusual format & subject manner is what makes EON often seem less "dated" and "old-fashioned" than other shows from that time period.  It never attempted to be especially "trendy" or "modern" -- and its film noir style is pretty timeless.
    • Dallas, Dynasty, Knots and Falcon Crest all had good runs but by 85 they had seen better days. I think they were a victim of the format. After several seasons seeing the same characters front and center viewers were bored. What was once fascinating grew predictable. JR, Alexis etc had to be front and center and after a while their schemes and shtick grew repetitive. JR remarrying Sue Ellen, Alexis constantly trying to get he better of Blake etc Unlike daytime, there wasn't the flexibility to bring in other stories and characters and maybe let the likes JR go backburner. That same mentality also invaded daytime with characters like  Sonny and Victor still peddling the same stuff after decades. I guess the same could be said for MSW eg every week Jessica encounters a crime and solves it,but I think viewers come to that format with a different mindset.
    • Daphnee and Trisha did a live stream on Instagram and confirmed they find out if the show gets picked up in May. This pretty much confirms they're on the primetime schedule like the Bell soaps. Fingers crossed we get a multi-year renewal announcement soon!  https://www.instagram.com/reel/DJSsYb7PDv8/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
    • I don't think Lois the character was there.  The Lois we knew from the 90s has pretty much died with this  Gio story crap.
    • Have to agree re MM. The goody two shoes character and writing doesn't help but maybe a more dynamic actor would help Brandon lift his game also. I found the song sequence a little OTT. First of all it should have been shorter and maybe the song fades out and just some music to accompany the montage. I think it would have worked better if Anita had have been alone after everyone left and started tinkling leading into the song, with Vernon coming in observing and then joining her for  a close moment. Everyone standing around felt a little too much. And that closing effect with the two blackscreens meeting was unnecessary. Just a fade out would have been enough.
