For sure, Larry Hagman/J.R. could have returned after DALLAS was finished.  They didn't even need to address the fact that Bobby was still alive on the mothership!

And if I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times: J.R. returning to Knots Landing and asking Val to co-write/ghost write his memoirs is a story that writes itself, lol.

Patrick Duffy caused a whole lot of damage when he insisted they kill Bobby off. He then came back (when he couldn't get work) and caused even more damage.

It killed the Knots crossovers.

It wiped an entire Dallas season worth of storylines.

It killed the budget to pay his sorry A-- more than he was ever worth.

It caused the loss of long term cast members.

It made Victoria Principal and her character Pam a laughing stock.

It made a mockery out of fans.

It made Patrick even more smug and insufferable and it came through the character of Bobby.

This is the perfect way for me to drop onto the table a what if that's been nagging me lately. Would Abby and Donna been better off if they swapped Ewing brothers?

That's right. I feel like he'd be more of a pushover for her, which I could see her liking (for a while, at least).

The real winner in the hypothetical Gary-Donna relationship is, of course, Miss Ellie.

Donna would've never stayed with Gary. Ultimately, Abby was pragmatic enough to stay with Gary because she needed him to be able to make it. I don't see Donna sticking around once Gary starts boozin' and sleeping with Ciji. She had her own money and career, so why bother?

I'd also see Abby being bored with Ray being such a push-over quickly. She loves a challenge.

Not how it happened exactly. Without the insistence of Larry Hagman and the return of Leonard Katzman, Duffy likely wouldn't have returned. He may not have gotten the big roles he likely thought he [may] get but he still worked following his Dallas departure. Blaming Duffy for accepting the return is not where the blame should be: blame Hagman and Katzman.

"The Drew Carey Show" at number one?  WTF??

I'd like to think that David Jacobs (RIP) would be delighted to see his baby become a hit again all these years later.

    • Welcome back, Shawn Douglas! It's been a while. It really is too bad that the writers don't really have an interest in the character because there are still a lot of ways that he can be used effectively on the canvas. He should have been a part of the 60th anniversary celebrations as well. If anything, just to represent Bo and Hope. And I'd much rather see Jada paired with him than possibly with Theo. But I enjoyed him getting caught up with Belle, and comforting her. I'm sure they'll find their way back to each other at some point but I do like them as divorced friends. I just hope we see it play out onscreen. Belle being a dick about Sami again was unnecessary though. And we finally saw Liam again!  I'm curious to see how this storyline is going to play out, and who's going to be weaved into it. He and Abe do work well together too. And we learned that he has a kid. Hopefully, we'll learn more about his character in the future. But I'm not really sure about Johnny and Chanel suddenly having problems with raising Trey. They've wanted a baby for so long, so I don't understand why this is even an issue. They should know by now what it's like to raise a baby. But I did enjoy Johnny's scenes with EJ, and that Johnny still hasn't refused to forgive him. This storyline was/is very clunky, but having the two of them be at odds is the right decision. There's so much story potential that can be drawn from that. As for Chad... there was no time for us to see his reunion with Will, but there's time for us to see him talking BS with Leo? I don't get it. And I don't get all this random dating app stuff either. Leo and Javi were boring af too. If we're forced to endure them, can they at least have some real conflict? The two of them losing the baby was the perfect opportunity for it.

    • I enjoy BF better on Days than on YR.   Chad is greater than Cane, in my opinion.
    • Ick! Seeing MS and BF making out as the characters onscreen was just ewwww.

    • That was the best part of Tuesday's episode.  Martin and Smitty and their family are boring.
