Speaking of Ralph Ellis and Eugenie Hunt. They were prolific (and well respected) soap writers and not only served as headwriters of TD but at SFT twice and other shows. Both were also hired as breakdown writers, script writers and story consultants on various shows.  Eugenie died a few years ago.

The latest from Retro.  The good news is the recent cast interviews will be shown later this month.  The bad news is they're going to have to stop airing the 1979 episodes temporarily (and will re-air the 1967 episodes).

Wow. I never would have thought of corona impacting something like this.

I wish they could air some of the pre-Dec 67 episodes too.

IKR?  Who'da thunk that an infected bat at a meat market in China would end up upsetting the entire planet!?

Didnt Ellis and Hunt pen ATWT through much of the 70s?

Yes they took over after Irna had departed a second time and wrote from 73-78.

Thanks for clearing that up - it certainly makes sense.

As I said I found it odd that Quinlan would keep the current team.

I was going on the summaries supplied by French Fan.

Today's episode of The Doctors on Retro, which originally aired in December 1979, listed Ellis and Hunt as the head writers.

Yep. I didn't see yesterday's episode so I'm not sure which was their first episode.

Thanks ! We should update the HW list with all the information we have. Has anyone made a list since 1967 ?

Ashley Bennett made her first appearance on today's episode.

Ralph Ellis and Eugenie Hunt have started their HW run.

I do recall (the actress playing Ashley got an emmy nom... and her arc was huge in 1980.

I like Zimmer's take on NOLA so far...she plays grief well without going into Revva esque historonics.

That was the first time I'd seen Valerie Mahaffey ... she's probably better known for comedy these days but I remember being very impressed with her dramatic turn on The Doctors. I can't remember any story specifics, but I believe she played a neurotic, almost Glass Menagerie-like character, and was very effective.

Due to COVID-19/Coronavirus. The Doctors will stop airing current episodes from 79-80. They will start with 1967's episodes. In about a week. Due to the lockdown they can't go to the warehouse where the tapes are stored.

I didn't realize that Robert La Tourneaux had played Mike. I must have seen some of his episodes a few years ago. Was he the Mike right before Assante?
