I realized it couldn't be any good considering Even a Comedic Show Like "Desperate Housewives" had more taste When It Came to this kind of thing, Sure Edie Threw Ashes on Susan the moron, but those were a Bitch's Ashes, that got to rest on a yard, While Edie's were far more beautifully and tastefully spread through the street (but a questionable Big Amount), despite her more than occasional differences with the heroines, The only way something like that would be possibly funny would be if an enemy was spreading those Ashes, like "even dead and burned you cause me trouble" but to be fair how often thy enemy will take the time to spread you Ashes?

Did they?! Especially after how tragic and emotional her death was?! I have go back and rewatch that era to see this. Just abhorrent.

I feel like they are trying to go for dark comedy but it does not hit in this moment at all. It was a young girl that was killed horrifically and we're supposed to giggle at her ashes going in someone's face? I think not. It just confirms how little the writers themselves thought of the character. Shock value ain't always good.

I honestly don't know what they were going for, but whatever it was it failed. Unless of course they were going for disgust and repulsion, because in that case they succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. I just can't wrap my mind around the idea that someone, at some time, actually thought this was a good idea....

I think a lot of this is because we, the fans, care about these shows and the characters in a way that I don't think the writers and networks do. For them it's a job, a career, a way to bring in money, whereas we form an emotional attachment, especially to shows that last as long as Emmerdale has done. For example, I've had this show in my life, to varying degree, for over 40 years.

Can Emmerdale actually win at the Soap Awards next year? I can’t even remember a storyline that would be worth it. I bet they win because of the 50th anniversary but idk.

I always voted for Emmerdale mostly but next year this sh’tshit won’t get any votes from me. Corrie and Hollyoaks will get all my votes.

Does Anyone know who's the lady in the thumb? I remember the first time I tried watching emmerdale, thinking i could do it from the beginning I was fascinated by her and even researched to know who she was but if I found out I really don't remember

Victoria! Robert! Sarah! Jack Jr. ! Andy!
the few I can always name on top in my head. But there were a few others left. I mean when they can add a damn long lost brother for Cain then it shouldn’t be that hard to create one for Victoria or Andy.

@I Am A SwedeThanks for correcting me

I’m quiet over the Dingles. I know how u feel about them and I kinda start to get it. I‘m one of those people that always try’s to find something good in a soap even if it‘s bad. I‘m shocked that with Meena that at least something was going on. But after Meena left this show had reached the maximum of boredom. I‘ve never seen a more boring show then ED lately. What just happened ?

EE is boring too but at least they are trying but ED feels like they don’t even give a damn anymore lol

    • I would put Felicia in the 'small dose' auntie category because she means well, but comes on too strongly at times.  In small doses, she would be a blast to hang out with.. but in anything larger than a small... she would be exhausting. I tend to prefer lower key people than people that are always 'on' all the time.  Those people can veer off into energy vampire status pretty quickly.
    • I didn't like the Harry story, but Nazar did have a great introduction. He was probably the highlight of last year.  Now that you mention it, I guess the truly dire stories (Nicole, Harper/Drew/Phil, Nicole) didn't start until summer.
    • thank you all for contributing to the Vault. I am slowly getting towards watching the 1998 episodes

    • I pray⏤and I know it's a big prayer⏤that Noel Maxam is somehow able to figure things out budget-wise so we can stop re-dressing existing sets as "new" sets. I know in apartment buildings apartments can generally look the same, but I'm over it on this soap. The last time he was executive producer was in 2011 when the original Horton Town Square was introduced, and we had some other sets get introduced around this time (likely pre-commissioned prior to his election), but I'm trying to have some hope he can pull this off. Let's [finally] see it.
    • Definitely not the best of RC's breakdowns. I don't know what it says that I could pick up his trademarks yesterday 30 minutes in without even knowing that he did one. There was something more...quirky/boardstroked...about Dani. Though I love the Dani/Nicole scenes, she was just a little too hip?...which made me think back to the episode when she broke into Bill/Hayley's house. Then watching the episode later on, I saw Hayley was being used as a punchline to the more interesting and relevant Bill/Ted scenes (see you all were just talking about how you hoped they got scenes...one thing this show is great at...what people want on this board...they already have the foresight for it. The reason I feel the DNA test will get mentioned @Cheap21 in more detail). And then poor Anita reduced for the most part propping up an album.    Needless to say, not my favorite RC episode. And since we are in aftermath week, I just smh. And barely worth a rewatch. BUT...was there good for me?    Yes. Thankfully, we still got good aftermath beats regardless of the breakdown.   Like I said, I really like the Dani/Nicole scenes. But I love their dynamic. And I was looking forward to the shoe being on the other foot once the SilkPress storyline hit climax. Quirks aside, it did not disappoint. Dani came in, and she came in fierce for her sister. I loved her attacking Eva. And then her being surprisingly introspective about Nicole due to her own experience. No wonder Nicole reacted to her being self-aware. So did I.    Meanwhile Bill and Ted finally met up. I'm kinda sad that we did not get that sooner given the scenes that played out sidepiece in the background aside. It might have been interesting to see more of their status as non-Duprees coming into the family explored.    And of course I can't leave without mentioning Eva vs SilkPress Sheila which was the highlight. Both of them were giving. And SilkPress was just so cold with it. I did love that Eva finally stopped letting her gaslight her. Sad to see the duo break up. But I did love that she went to Ted. So...the next turn begins.   And speaking of turns...uh oh at Kat and Tomas. I'm sure he won't be staying away from her. So most definitely, Kat vs Eva ain't over. It will be interesting to see how it goes now that most people know that Kat was right all along.
    • Nah I enjoyed it much more last year because of the Harry plot that ended during that time. Nazar being introduced and them. But this time it is so lame and nothing I like forward to anymore and I’m one of them long time fans. Of course I would be upset if they would cancel it but maybe take a year off or two and return refreshed
    • came across this quote that provides some context: “It’s hard to escape the cultural reach of the Catholic Church when you live in the Western world. It is, for better or worse, one of the load-bearing walls of our civilization. Its influence wafts from the church into the streets of civic life, the courts, the schools, the arts.”
