Gillian Wright was great again in today's episode. Her scenes with Kat and then Ronnie were very heartbreaking to watch. Poor Jean has spent most of her time on the show revolving around Stacey and feels lost without her. I wonder what they'll do with her when she comes back, she has a lot of potential without Stacey now.

I wonder if this was supposed to be Jean's real exit before they decided to bring her back, or if Jean was originally supposed to leave with Stacey.

It was nice that Charlie and Kat has a talk about Zoe and Kat's first pregnancy, which seemed to be avoided until recently.

Can Whitney die, like now?

Tiffany discovering Carol/Connor screwing. Please don't tell me I'll have to watch that kid constantly over the next couple of episodes.

Just finished watching the Stacey Revealed Special (AKA Farewell Stacey).

They did a good job of recapping Stacey's history on the show. I didn't even mind hearing Natalie Cassidy's voice again...

Tony Jordan told the story about how Lacey came in to audition for one of the roles in the Miller family, and he saw her leaning up against a wall, and thought she looked so much like Kat Slater/Jessie Wallace and said it was like looking at a "young Kat", so he created Stacey specifically for Lacey. He said he just knew they had another Slater in Lacey.

John Yorke mentioned how reviled Stacey was at first with the audience but she soon caught on and became probably the most popular character on the show.

They gave an overview of her relationship with Bradley and how he was everything she hated in a person but she grew to love him.

They talk about Stacey and Max, and mentioned how Max was enamored by Stacey on their first meeting and has carried a torch for her ever since.

A brief recap of Janine's history was also given.

I had to laugh at that Italian production assistant having to fill in for Lacey at the rehearsals for the Live episode when she was sick. They even showed footage of that. I loved how Jake Wood kissed him like he normally kisses Stacey. LOL!

They talked about the bipolar storyline and Stacey and Jean's relationship. About how Stacey was sort of Jean's mother figure for most of her life and how the bipolar storyline made Jean come into her mothering role for Stacey a lot better, since Jean knew what it was like to be bipolar.

I love that line - "Stacey Slater, Ice Skater."

Kirkwood and Sharon Batten talked about how important it was for Stacey's last scenes to be with Max and how Stax needed to come full circle.

Kirkwood also mentioned how Stacey had a life defined by her relationships with others (Jean, Max, and Bradley) and how she finally needed a life defined by just herself and her daughter, hence why she got the ending she got.

John Yorke and Bryan Kirkwood talked about how it was never an option to kill off Stacey. Lacey said she was happy with that and hoped to return once day. Yorke goes on to allude that he would love it if Max/Stacey was revisited in the future.

Lacey seemed very popular with the cast, especially those she worked closely with. Jake Wood, Derek Martin, Jo Joyner, Charlie Brooks, and Neil McDermott seemed to genuinely like her.

I was just about to say with all the BK hate, she might end up getting some "Can-Her" petitions.

Thanks for the rundown, I am looking forward to seeing this.

I will miss Lacey but I think the show has the strongest female cast of any soap, and this is possibly the strongest female cast the show has ever had. I just hope that they will be showcased as well as they have been in these last few episodes.

I also wish Whitney would go away.

Caught both Monday and Tuesday's episodes, and while I actually loved the x-mas episode, I've found these past two episodes more entertaining; mostly due to the simple drawn out character moments like the ones with Jean, Ronnie, and Kat.

The cast is pretty strong right now, they seemingly have a flawless female cast. Gillian Wright has been excellent ever since the x-mas episodes.

I'm so anticipating the start of Dot's new story, I rather liked her scenes with the choir director. I see loads of potential there. I'm simply happy to see Dot truly interacting with someone again, and enjoying herself.

I'm going on a limb here and say that I saw plenty of foreshadowing between Ronnie and Jean today, perhaps on more than just one level. Somehow I think that when Jean does come back she will somehow factor heavily into the upcoming storyline with Ronnie and Kat.

When I read about Jean's return and exit I did think she would be heavily involved in the baby stuff. She works so well with Ronnie and Kat.

Some are upset about the way Kat is treating Alfie but to me she's been a lot nicer to him recently.

Y&RWT who would you put in the Sharon or Kathy role, of the current cast? I have no idea who.

I don't think anyone in the current female cast can occupy that role. They're all different and have their vulnerable sides, but the show is also filled with a ton of strong and gobby women at the moment, which is why it's so important to have a Sharon or Kathy.

In what was left of the Beale's, I think Peter was the character closest to Kathy in a way. He was sort of the voice of reason before he left and a lot of the stuff he told Ian, I could see Kathy telling him.

Jane had potential before she got lost in baby rabies. I'm not evev going to mention the Mitchell sisters, as I don't think they fulfill any definite role on the show.

The best option I think would be if Sharon returned in the second half of 2011, but I don't know if I see that happening.

I think this Revealed might have been the best I've seen. They did a good job of going through the Stacey eras (skipping most of the piss-poor 2008, I noticed...I wish they'd mentioned her role in Den's murder story in 2005 but I can see where that wasn't necessary). I did laugh when they had Jake Wood talking about Stacey's sexiness as they showed her in the 2004 episodes -- I don't think that's what he had in mind.

I don't believe Janine is "evil", but I liked the segment on her, and that Charlie Brooks always tries to defend Janine. The back and forth with Charlie Brooks and Neil McDermott was lots of fun, they have a breezy chemistry. And they played a clip I'd never seen before -- Janine splashing mud on Laura as she drove by. I love it. I bet you liked that scene Y&RWT...

Some great scenes about Stacey's bipolar and her early relationship with Bradley. And the stuff with Mario, priceless. I'm also glad they acknowledged what an important relationship Stacey and Max had.

I have to admit that Natalie Cassidy's narration got on my nerves a little. She seemed to be awkward and some of the lines they gave her, like the mock Italian accent, were cringers. I don't ever want to hear Sonia Fowler say "get in there son"

Jean's entrance on the show was dark, especially what a horrible mother she was (which wasn't her fault, she's bipolar too of course). I remember the awful things she said to Stacey, which made Charlie take Stacey in, despite Zoe and Big Mo hating/being annoyed with her.

Gillian and Lacey always had such great mother/daughter chemistry, and before Jean became a permanent character, I always liked her little visits on the show and how each time it broke Stacey's heart to see Jean in the condition she was in.
