July 2, 200817 yr Member I liked a lot of LML's stories, but hated her writing for David. He was a cardboard character... his job was to hug Nikki and tell her how nice she was. Nothing else. UNTIL now. The gambling/David/Nikki story is the ONE interesting story on Y/R now... it's the only thing moving. The acting is great. The character of David finally got some layers and depth. So what do they do? Get rid of the one thing that's working (even if it didn't work under LML, it was working under MAB). Go figure. I co-sign here! Vincent's performance during today's reveal was remarkable. His face revealed "tortured" and "conflicted" all through the show...and during the flashback, his moist eyes were on the precipice of tears. Had we been able to see this humanity from the beginning (e.g., when he was supposedly grieving his beloved fiance), we might have grown to care for him. That would have sustained all the rest. I'm sorry Vincent was an LML victim...one of so many (Eyal Podell, Adrienne Leon, Eric Steinberg, Jerry Douglas, Victoria Rowell, Marisa Ramirez). This wounded show may never get its step back.
July 2, 200817 yr Author Member Correct. We didn't see him do the crime. I'm still suspecting/hoping it is Jeffrey. Jeff had the room next door, an apparent need for $$, and a Korean connection. I see this going in the direction of David being falsely accused (he agreed to do the killing, but then found the dead body...but couldn't deny doing the deed because he needed to "take credit" to pay off his gambling debts). I see David being killed at the end of this...but it will be an "unjust" death because he really loved Nikki, and he didn't do the murder. Let's hope Jeffrey is gone soon...what a vile, vile man. Gloria needs to be free to pursue other things. I like Shackleford, I don't want to see him gone. Next to Bergman, I can see TS being an excellent leading man one day. July 2, 200817 yr Author Member Yeah, but Mark sees Gloria as the poor victim, while we know better. LoL, of course! See when Gloria keeps running back to the man WILLINGLY, jumping into bed with him, and MARRYING him again, then I don't see a victim at all. She gets more than she gives.
July 2, 200817 yr Member Next to Bergman, I can see TS being an excellent leading man one day. Only if they seperate him from JC. As long as he's stuck propping her he's pointless.
July 2, 200817 yr Member I'm think Charles Pratt Jr. and VI worked together on Santa Barbara. This could work. The possibilities for David to come back to PV are endless as so long it doesn't involve the DixieBird or Babe. David isn't really Babe's father since Adam fudged the tests. July 2, 200817 yr Member Oh god, for what's left of my sanity I hope he stays FAR way from AMC. ETA: I really am shocked by all the fans willing to use David to get Dixie back. I realize there's a lot of love for her, and that everyone wants her back no matter how they can get her, but are you also wishing instant character assassination on David? The man is sick, twisted, dark, and heartless when he's lost in Dixieland. There's nothing good or redeeming about him when he's tied up in her web. She's the last thing his character would need on his return to Pine Valley. I'm sorry, but this David fan will not get on a one way train to character destruction just to get Dixie back. July 2, 200817 yr Member Vincent Irizarry will be leaving Y&R. Link Loved him on GL both times, but yay. He didn't fit in on Y&R. Nikki get your groove back!
July 2, 200817 yr Member I would hope that GL would snatch him back up-- so he could breathe new life into the show; but with the current folks running the ship over there-- it's best if he stays far away! I doubt GL could afford him :-(. I can't see AMC taking him back either since he wouldn't fit in with the current canvas. Hopefully he will show up somewhere and play an interesting character. Idea.... Craig Montgomery recast for ATWT? Loved Scott Bryce, but TPTB blew that and he is not likely to come back.
July 2, 200817 yr Member I like Shackleford, I don't want to see him gone. Next to Bergman, I can see TS being an excellent leading man one day. I almost hate to say it, but I still think Ted Shackelford is kinda sexy. I'm just one big whore.
July 2, 200817 yr Member I almost hate to say it, but I still think Ted Shackelford is kinda sexy. I'm just one big whore. no, he is. and he could easily be my grandfather, lol.
July 2, 200817 yr Member no, he is. and he could easily be my grandfather, lol. He is sexy AND a terrific actor. I have no concerns about Ted. It is JEFF I want eradicated. Although I will concede that Gloria lost 100 sympathy points when she REMARRIED the man. The writing for her is to the point that I start to believe she deserves everything she gets. That said, I like Judith Chapman incredibly much too...AND the campy Gloria. But the writing does not serve her. I agree with many of you that she needs to be rested, on the back burner, in a support role for her sons. I'd also love to see her function as Nikki's henchwoman against Jill.

July 2, 200817 yr Member Well, there's always the "third Bardwell twin," Reverend Gregory. Not funny!

She DOES deserve everything she gets. They can try to redeem her a million times, but after that they'll do the same mistakes over and over again. Until she pays for the huge crime she committed, she can't be redeemed in my eyes. And as for the back burner, she could easily spent 5-6 months in jail and then later try to redeem herself when she exits the place somehow (unless her cellmates kill her for being too Gloria-like).
