OneLife Fan, I agree that "I'll Be Missing You" is a very good song. I never got to see the video though, so I wonder what that was like.

Evan, you are very welcome. Like you, I love to read and ascertain which songs were from each year. Regarding Toni Braxton, I have not followed pop music lately. Therefore, I wonder when her music started going downhill.

OneLife Fan, these songs also bring back a lot of memories for me, too!

Kanewomen2005, that is such an interesting coincidence that you are a physical person and that the song "Physical" was #1 on the week you were born. For me, I always get a kick out of the fact that "Funkytown" by Lipps, Inc. (1980) was #1 the week I was born, despite the fact that I am most certainly not a funky person! Anyway, it is always interesting to learn what song was #1 on the week you were born.

Rick and Shawn, I obviously see that both of you were unhappy that "Macarena (Bayside Boys Mix)" by Los Del Rio was #1 for so long. However, if it is any consolation, you will be pleased to know that Los Del Rio is a one-hit wonder.

2001:

907. It Wasn't Me--Shaggy featuring Ricardo "RikRok" Ducent (2 weeks, February 3)

908. Ms. Jackson--OutKast (1 week, February 17)

909. Stutter--Joe featuring Mystikal (4 weeks, February 24)

910. Butterfly--Crazy Town (2 weeks, March 24)

911. Angel--Shaggy featuring Rayvon (1 week, March 31)

912. All for You--Janet Jackson (7 weeks, April 14)

913. Lady Marmalade--Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, Mya, & Pink (5 weeks, June 2)

914. U Remind Me--Usher (4 weeks, July 7)

915. Bootylicious--Destiny's Child (2 weeks, August 4)

916. Fallin'--Alicia Keys (6 weeks, August 18)

917. I'm Real--Jennifer Lopez featuring Ja Rule (5 weeks, September 8)

918. Family Affair--Mary J. Blige (6 weeks, November 3)

919. U Got It Bad--Usher (6 weeks, December 15)

920. How You Remind Me--Nickelback (4 weeks, December 22)

2002:

921. Always on Time--Ja Rule featuring Ashanti (2 weeks, February 23)

922. Ain't It Funny--Jennifer Lopez featuring Ja Rule (6 weeks, March 9)

923. Foolish--Ashanti (10 weeks, April 20)

924. Hot in Herre--Nelly (7 weeks, June 29)

925. Dilemma--Nelly featuring Kelly Rowland (10 weeks, August 17)

926. A Moment Like This--Kelly Clarkson (2 weeks, October 5)

927. Lose Yourself--Eminem (12 weeks, November 9)

2003:

928. Bump, Bump, Bump--B2K & P. Diddy (1 week, February 1)

929. All I Have--Jennifer Lopez featuring LL Cool J (4 weeks, February 8)

930. In Da Club--50 Cent (9 weeks, March 8)

931. Get Busy--Sean Paul (3 weeks, May 10)

932. 21 Questions--50 Cent featuring Nate Dogg (4 weeks, May 31)

933. This Is the Night--Clay Aiken (2 weeks, June 28)

Please note that this concludes the list of "Billboard's" #1 Pop Singles. The reason why the list stops here is because "This Is the Night" by Clay Aiken is the last song covered in the most recent edition of "The 'Billboard' Book of Number One Hits." (This, of course, unfortunately means that I don't know the remainder of #1 hits for 2003.) However, although the list is complete, please note that I am not finished saying all that I would like to say: in the coming days, I will print some lists that contain interesting information regarding #1 hits.

And I dub this the time when rap really started going downhill. Not that it was better before but 50 Cent's success really took the cake IMO <_<.

It really is a shame. Still like her though and I have faith. I mean, look at Mary J. "No More Drama" was good and then she made "Love and Life" which was poor and extremely commercialised. But now she's making waves again with "The Breakthrough". I think Toni will recapture her success eventually. I just hope it happens soon. R&B is definitely missing powerhouses like her.

Dimples, I notice that you dislike rap. That makes two of us. (Although, in my case, I absolutely hate rap.)

As I mentioned in my last post, I am going to share with you some interesting lists regarding the #1 singles. The first list is of the exact same songs that have been #1 two different times, by two different artists. Believe it or not, this has occurred a total of nine times, as shown below:

*Go Away Little Girl--Steve Lawrence (2 weeks, 1963)

*Go Away Little Girl--Donny Osmond (3 weeks, 1971)

*The Loco-Motion--Little Eva (1 week, 1962)

*The Loco-Motion--Grand Funk (2 weeks, 1974)

*Please Mr. Postman--The Marvelettes (1 week, 1961)

*Please Mr. Postman--The Carpenters (1 week, 1975)

*Venus--Shocking Blue (1 week, 1970)

*Venus--Bananarama (1 week, 1986)

(Note: Another song called "Venus," by Frankie Avalon--which spent 5 weeks at #1 in 1959--is a completely different song from the "Venus" sung by Shocking Blue and Bananarama.)

*Lean on Me--Bill Withers (3 weeks, 1972)

*Lean on Me--Club Nouveau (2 weeks, 1987)

*You Keep Me Hangin' On--The Supremes (2 weeks, 1966)

*You Keep Me Hangin' On--Kim Wilde (1 week, 1987)

*When a Man Loves a Woman--Percy Sledge (2 weeks, 1966)

*When a Man Loves a Woman--Michael Bolton (1 week, 1991)

*I'll Be There--The Jackson Five (5 weeks, 1970)

*I'll Be There--Mariah Carey (2 weeks, 1992)

*Lady Marmalade--Labelle (1 week, 1975)

*Lady Marmalade--Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, Mya, & Pink (5 weeks, 2001)

Now, the songs above happened to be the same exact song covered by two different artists. Below is another list of songs, which went to number #1 two different times, by two different artists. However, unlike the songs above, the songs in the list below are (each) two entirely different songs altogether: in other words, the only similarity between each pair of songs below is that they have the exact (or virtually the) same title. (Note that the fact that Frankie Avalon's "Venus" being a completely different song from the "Venus" sung by both Shocking Blue and Bananarama will not be mentioned below, since I already mentioned that earlier.)

*My Love--Petula Clark (2 weeks, 1966)

*My Love--Paul McCartney & Wings (4 weeks, 1973)

*I'm Sorry--Brenda Lee (3 weeks, 1960)

*I'm Sorry--John Denver (1 week, 1975)

*Best of My Love--The Eagles (1 week, 1975)

*Best of My Love--The Emotions (5 weeks, 1977)

*One More Try--George Michael (3 weeks, 1988)

*One More Try--Timmy T (1 week, 1991)

*Good Vibrations--The Beach Boys (1 week, 1966)

*Good Vibrations--Marky Mark & the Funky Bunch featuring Loleatta Holloway (1 week, 1991)

*Jump--Van Halen (5 weeks, 1984)

*Jump--Kris Kross (8 weeks, 1992)

*All 4 Love--Color Me Badd (1 week, 1992)

*All for Love--Bryan Adams/Rod Stewart/Sting (3 weeks, 1994)

*The Power of Love--Huey Lewis & the News (2 weeks, 1985)

*The Power of Love--Celine Dion (4 weeks, 1994)

*Honey--Bobby Goldsboro (5 weeks, 1968)

*Honey--Mariah Carey (3 weeks, 1997)

*Wild, Wild West--The Escape Club (1 week, 1988)

*Wild Wild West--Will Smith featuring Dru Hill & Kool Moe Dee (1 week, 1999)

*Family Affair--Sly & the Family Stone (3 weeks, 1971)

*Family Affair--Mary J. Blige (6 weeks, 2001)

Shawn, surprisingly Kylie Minogue's 1988 version of "The Loco-Motion" did not reach #1: the song actually peaked at #3. However, I strongly agree with you that her version of "The Loco-Motion" should have been #1, since I really love her version of the song. As I mentioned earlier, I am quite surprised that her version didn't reach #1, because I remember that song being so popular back when it was released.

On a slightly different note, I am pretty sure--due to the fact that Kylie Minogue's version reached #3--that "The Loco-Motion" has come closer than any other song to achieving the distinction of being #1 by three different artists. I say that I am pretty sure about this, because out of the other eight songs that were #1 by two different artists, I do not believe that any other versions of those songs reached as high as #3.
