The fires have nothing to do with those ratings. They started last Saturday/Sunday the 20th and the 21st. The show was pre-empted here Monday and Tuesday (I'm not positive about Tuesday, though). So the fires have no baring on the ratings posted above.

Whoa, look at AMC. I wish I could say I'm surprised or even upset, but B&E are proving themselves to be everything I feared they would be. :( It's like watching the Titanic sink, and not being able to do a damn thing about it. :( Whoa, what happened to this show?

LMFAO at GH. I love it. Frons and Guza are going to be pimping each other all the way to the unemployment line.:P

OLTL, DAYS, and perhaps B&B are so deserving of a rise. Thankfully two out of those three did rise. Congrats to DAYS and B&B. Days showcased one of the best death scenes in soap opera history.

Fingers crossed that someday soon OLTL will be ABC's number one watched soap (Hopefully not by default). It's the only soap on ABC daytime that I can recognize thanks to RC.

I'm waiting right there with you. OLTL deserved to surpass GH weeks ago. The ultimate vindication would be OLTL improving on its lead in, as it is now, and GH not maintaining OLTL's lead in ratings. As the red-headed stepchild of ABCD, OLTL needs this recognition.

Stephanie & the "Golden girl" were a nice change of scenery last Friday. Unfortunately, Anne (Betty White) came & went back to Chicago in just a couple of finely-acted scenes. Wish they could've kept her around awhile longer for her "daughter." BW & SF work so well off each other. This week is Stephanie's first full week back. Soon they'll start exiting Taylor from the show because of Hunter Tylo's personal tragedy. Given these unexpected real life events, B&B's doing very well keeping things moving smoothly & getting their Nielsens up.

I never understand how people say OLTL is good. I catch the show in passing and I never see any Buchanans. All I see is the same insufferable characters they always show. OLTL deserves every low rating it gets until such time Asa, Kevin, Joey, Cord and Tina are all back on canvas (alive in Asa's case) and there are no more comatose cops on 5 days a week. I don't need to watch McBains anymore than I needed Rappaports.

I won't disagree completely. It's not so much that it's good, just that there is an obvious attempt to make it more balanced, and there has been more Buch action - but as you imply, at the expense of Asa. Yes, still too much McBain. I guess I'm just more optimistic than I've been in a while and willing to give it a chance. But I understand your point of view and my patience won't last forever.

    • Valerie Mahaffey Dead: ‘Northern Exposure,’ ‘Dead to Me’ Actress Was 71 I just loved Valerie on my early '90s TV shows. This one gets me.
    • I assume they did at some point during the finale...
    • Kelly was a horribly-written character overall. Just think, two Emmy-winning actresses (including Cynthia Watros, Nina, GH, and Annie, GL) couldn't make it work. Pamela is campy, but so are Dani, Vanessa, Leslie, and Joey. And, I don't want to be too judgy because my love for camp changes depending on the show. OLTL, DAYS, and some eras of GH had me rolling with the camp. However, Passions was overkill and I hated it. And, here, I can take it or leave it. It's ok in small doses (note to RC). I see this show as more of a serious drama.
    • I think one of the reasons that pilot didn't get picked up was because Vicki L was associated more with being Thelma Harper and playing older then she was playing her own age.  It was a blessing it didn't get picked up, or we would have been deprived of the syndicated era of Mama's Family.   Also, worth noting a Pre Night Court Marsha Warfield and pre Perfect Strangers Rebecca Arthur in the cast.  All talented women, but stuck with a bad script. And the other pilot had a pre Fran Fine.. Fran Drescher as the best friend.  I think that pilot might have been picked up if Karen Valentine and Fran Drescher switched roles.
    • So, on rewatch....did Rick and Mindy never have sex?
    • Cady had a fairly posh accent or manner as Rosanna - the character was a 180 from Dixie when she went to ATWT, and it was a huge success initially. As someone mostly only familiar with the nagging, miserable or clueless Dixie of the mid-late '90s and early 2000s it was what convinced me Cady could act. I thought she was incredible in her first run. Later, in future stints, her hair and story and performances were all over the place but a lot of that was down to the show for me. She brought some of Rosanna back with her to Dixie in her ill-fated return and a lot of people didn't like it, which I understood but I did think the character needed some change. I think she's had a little bit of the same persona and arch performance in every role she's played since, including Jennifer Horton at DAYS or Kelly at Y&R, who later became a maniac and was easily the worst work I've ever seen Cady do. It has kind of infected her overall mannerisms, I'll allow that, but I do think she brought Dixie back together as herself while still evolving the character when she returned to AMC again in 2012-13. Nonetheless, for me the upshot is that this is a character where Cady's kookier recent performance style suits the role. But I can understand it grating for people.
    • Yeah, Loretta Swit's passing stings. My late dad LOVED the show (he died last November) and watched it religiously. In first run and repeats.  And I was literally born the day after the show's premiere, so I grew up with it! I know many loved later, softer Margaret, but I loved Early Hot Lips. In real life, I'm all for less misogyny, but to me, the early years of M*A*S*H were just funnier. May Loretta Swit rest in peace. Thanks for all the memories connected to my dad!

    • I agree that she isn't Dixie or Rosanna and shouldn't be acting like either. I just found it strange that she had a naive Southern character and a wealthy urbane character in the past and didn't experiment with accents before (unless I missed it, correct me if I'm wrong). She used to do improv characters on YouTube. She's probably doing something similar here.
