The Friday start of this saw a ratings decrease btw, lol. With all that promo! Hopefully next week tanks, but I'm calling this a HUGE success. Critics, fans and the Emmy panel will eat this up. Look at this years Emmys.

I still can't believe how boring this has been. NOBODY died?! All she's done all year is kill people off or almost kill them. In every episode they have a vapid conversation and are rescued. Y&R wasted all of their money on this [!@#$%^&*] and it doesn't even look good!

It might be a bit sadistic but when Eyall Podell was screaming about his dumb leg I laughed and laughed. I hate Adrian so much because he's so damn boring and smarmy. I just wish that re bar had pierced his brain.

And also, Victoria getting hit with a rock the size of a paper weight was hilarious.

Y&R has become a farce. I hope LML gets thrown under the bus after the Nielsen survey comes in.

I guess I will be the positive one because it seems everyone else hated. I have been a viewer off and on for 25 years and there have always been things I love about this show and times when I need a break. As for this storyline I actually have liked it. This is the first time in a long time that I have not FF threw a complete showed. I have enjoyed everyone involved. I cryed at some moments and laughed at some moments because they are stupid. I dont know enjoyed it for the first time in a very long time.

I didn't even put any muscle into turning on my DVR to catch today's show...hell, reading your hilarious posts are good enough for me....

Yesterday, I wanted to ram my foot up Amber's mouth...her annoying chatter was beyond pathetic; too bad she or David Purina Chow couldn't have gotten lost and never found in the debris.

First off, I NEVER form my opions based off of other people's opinions. I have no problem being in the minority, and thinking for myself. The majority could go praising this story today and it would still be crap in my eyes. I have tried to watch the show but cant stand to sit through it bc its so boring. I think the show is a complete mess and the worst soap on daytime right now. I was loving it last year but then LML got complete control and turned me off.

I'm sorry, but I HAVE to say this:

Adrienne Frantz is NOT a bad actress! In fact, she has given some stellar perfomances while on B&B. The thing is that Amber is a character that, if not well written, can turn into a horrible mess and that's what has happened to Amber during Y&R. Every bit is LML's fault and all those who write so terribly for her (as well as the rest of the characters).

You're totally right. When Adrienne Frantz was on B&B she was really quite lovely a lot of the time. Amber had spunk and drive and was tough...but it all made sense and a lot of people rooted for her. I mean she won an Emmy...she isn't a bad actress. What she is however is an actress who relies on the writing probably too much than she should. With LML's horrid writing Amber has been transformed. On B&B Amber wasn't such a stupid victim...Daffy? Yes. Stupid? No. And Amber was a fighter and was pretty alright. She wasn't my favorite character, but she wasn't irritating and she made sense. At times she was fun.

But really, look what LML has done to ALL the characters. She basically took the whole cast to the firing squad because ALL of the characters have been assassinated. If people who are utterly, fabulously talented like Eric Braeden, Melody Thomas Scott, Jess Walton, Michelle Stafford, Jeanne Cooper, Christian Le Blanc and Peter Bergman are being dragged into the depths of acting hell how on earth can someone like Adrienne Frantz have a shot?!

    • As someone who was watching OLTL at the time, Dano did excellent work, but the writing was weird. Dano even got Emmy nominated for what she did. However, it did feel that the writers did not know what to do with her, but to be fair, it did feel like a lot of that was that the character was a network mandate and the writers were making it up as they were going on. I didn't watch Dano's trek around all the soaps. That kind of thing would have worked better with an ABC performer not someone who had been off OLTL for decades. I can't imagine AW without Felicia Gallant. I really don't want to because she provided so much joy for me when there was so much disappointment on that show. The only time I thought her character didn't work was the John/Felicia storyline but it got Anna Holbrook an Emmy so I can't complain all that much. It's just another example of drama at the expense of character.
    • Bringing this over from the soccer/soaps ratings thread yesterday:  Errol said: "CBS put out a notice that it could preempt at a moment's notice as the Pope selection continues, dependent on how long it takes, of course." New pope just chosen, name to be announced soon. Yeah CBS-NewYork channel 2 is airing Pope coverage instead of Y&R right now.
    • @brisbydog - I like that you have a signature font, très chic Abe and Paulina's new apartment was the first thing I noticed.  I don't understand why people over a certain age in Salem automatically move into a condo? When it seems just as simple to make the set seem like a detached home.  But, I will give points to attention to detail of choosing colors that compliment the Black actors in the scene. Which then led to the second thing I noticed.  Why would EJ want Kayla's office, when his is 3xs the size?  Also, even if he buys the hospital, won't Kayla get to keep her office? Lastly, can we at least give Cat the agency to decide on her own with whom she wishes to date?  Do men actually need to negotiate on her behalf?  She's stunning.  My advice would be if Chad is friend-zoning her after a year together, move on to his richer brother.
    • OH!!! I love it. I can't believe I missed that. In one of the 2 fan events held the 2 years after the sorry end of our lovely show, both  Anna Stuart & Stephen Schnetzer attended & I got to talk to each of them. Obviously I was in heaven. Although at least I didn't do my shy star struck thing.
    • We probably won't get any of our CBS soaps today cause of the Pope stuff, cause you know they have to air it on regular network despite having 24/7 news channels

    • I still don't know when/how did Iris find out about Evan's connection to Janice?
    • lol Cass and Donna went on a bowling date!
    • As well as insulting our host, being rude to some of the nicest members who correct you, and having an inflated sense of duty. While others may be able to add numerous offenses, the egocentrism to force any conversation off-topic to focus on you is the most egregious act for me.  This is light entertainment, an interactive discussion, not the shallotpeel-hour.
    • Yes, that is why. I mean, not last minute but it was not what Shapiro originally wanted. First, she tried to buy the show. Then she tried to buy the character. Meanwhile several other companies also tried to buy the show.
    • I thought I had stopped & then I saw this post from you. To be clear I said I was wrong. I have not made an attempt at any backpedaling. There is literally no place to back pedal to. I did 3 things. I deleted. i apologized. I said I was wrong, egregiously so.
