Members Faulkner
I’m actually somewhat excited about the prospects for a new USO champion on both the ATP and WTA sides. The remaining contenders are all relatively accomplished players who’ve been discussed as potential major singles champions at some point in their careers (not to mention two-time RG champ Swiatek—even Khachanov has a Masters title). This year, we don’t have relative randoms like Raducanu or Fernandez (which was fun in its own way—Leylah had a Slam on the juniors circuit, which isn’t the same) or even a doubles specialist like Krejcikova suddenly redlining at Roland Garros. Members Faulkner
Oh dear. How much if anything will she walk away with, if true? Frances is smoking Rublev in these TBs.

Members Fevuh
I cannot remember if I went to bed or not. I think I did. Woke up, and the match was still going on at 2:15, LOLLL.
Members Faulkner
I just wonder if Alcaraz will have enough in the tank for Frances. He’s young and spry, but that has to be taxing for anyone.
Members janea4old
In a quarterfinal match that finished at 2:50 a.m., Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner set a record for the latest-ever US Open match. The epic, five-set quarterfinal—which Alcaraz won, 6-3, 6-7(7), 6-7(0), 7-5, 6-3—started on Wednesday night and finished in the early hours of Thursday morning in Arthur Ashe Stadium. The match lasted five hours, 15 minutes—the second-longest US Open match ever—and surpassed the previous record for latest finish of 2:26 a.m., set three times, most recently in 2014.
Administrator Toups Posted September 8, 2022 Author Administrator Share Posted September 8, 2022 By starting these matches so late, a lot of people are missing some great tennis. Would’ve loved to watch the Alcarez/Sinner match. I think they should have one mens match, on Armstrong or Ashe, start at 7pm, then have two womens matches back-to-back at 7pm on the other main court.
