Members amybrickwallace
Was Yellow Rose cancelled due to low ratings or because it was too expensive to produce?
Members slick jones
I remember it being on Saturdays at 10, so I think ratings were a part of it. I think Fantasy Island was still on then, too.
Members amybrickwallace
That makes sense. Thanks.
Members antmunoz
YELLOW ROSE was expensive. It didn't get the ratings, either. Many prime time soaps started out as episodics and shifted to serials. YR did the opposite. The last few episodes were self-contained. A few actors, like Susan Anspach, were dropped. The much-touted Jane Russell story arc lasted...one episode. I really liked this show. I'd always wanted Cybill Shepherd to make a comeback. And she did--with MOONLIGHTING. I liked Kerrie Keane on this show too; she was added as a villainess named Caryn Cabrera. She later got a NBC prime timer, HOT PURSUIT. She was a judge on Y&R a few years back.
Members slick jones
Don't forget her role on BH90210 as the woman that had Dylan's half sister. She was downright bad (and I loved it). Deborah Shelton who moved on to Dallas, and Sam Elliott(so fine) who is now appearing on FX's Justified as the season's "big Bad". Edward Albert who moved on to FC, and David Soul from Starsky and Hutch. Chuck Connors must have cost a pretty penny as well. I liked the two old ranch hands, especially Rockford's father from Rockford Files, Noah Beery.
Members Jagger1966
Kerrie Keane was so good on Yellow Rose! It was odd how the show shifted from serialized to episodic though.

Members YRBB
Some really stunning pictures, here (like Genie's 'shoulder' one, the one with Michael Woods, and Jennifer O'Neill's). And always yummy to see John James. Thanks, Carl.
Members DRW50
Thanks for reading. I don't think I've ever actually watched Bare Essence.
Members Khan
I've seen the miniseries and that's about it. It'd be nice, though, to picture Jaime Lyn Bauer, Lee Grant and Donna Mills working side-by-side on the same series.
Members SFK
The entire series is on YouTube but dubbed in German.
