Loved the humour in today's episode. From Chelsea's sarcasm to Bart's cape joke to Bo/John joking around. Tony had a few funny lines too.

Great script by Meg Kelly.

Oh and EJ getting punched by Lucas and then Bo (twice!).

WHAT THE HELL?!!

BO SUCKS ASS!!

This is police brutality, pure and simple. He has NO LEGAL RIGHT to punch EJ that way. JERK!!!

Oh, and Lucas? Deal with it. There's a NEW man in Sami's life. A better one, a better-looking one, and one who SAVED HER LIFE. You didn't, you little pipsqueak!

God, I swear, I think I'll pray for the writers to kill Lucas off in a very fiery, very nasty way. This bastard does NOT deserve Sami.

I seriously doubt that Stephanie/Jeremy is going to be the rooting couple. With them meeting off screen and then acting like sex starved teenagers, I have a feeling that the show has no intention of them being a long term couple. Also, I don't think that Jeremy had a great childhoold with Mike and Robin not being together all of the time while he was growing up. I don't have a problem with him being wild. Hopefully they have a plan though to mature him because he acted like a 14 year old on the show today. Also have no problem with them having a Carver in the young set. Hopefully though both will improve their acting.

Great to see Bo/John/Tony scenes today. I have no problem with Bo punching EJ around a little. He raped Sami, and I think all of the Brady's should beat him up some. Although I think EJ can help the Brady's and can be redeemed to a point like Jack, it is arrogant of him to think that they are all going to immediately trust him. He has to earn their trust the hard way. If he gets beat up a few times along the way, then so be it.

Today was pretty good considering it was a smaller cast than what we've been seeing.

First of all, I must welcome back the DiMera mansion. I love it! It's looking awesome. I was scared that we were going to get the Kiriakis mansion, but we didn't. I don't see the need for the new coloring, but it's not bad. The paints are still dark. I was really surprised and impressed with how well the set looks. I laughed at Tony riding into the "morning room" on Napoleon, the horse. And John and Bo's reactions were hilarious. I love Tony. He's so arrogant. It's awesome. He's no longer the cartoon that was being written back in 03-05. And Thaao is no longer playing him that way either. Yes, he adds humor into his acting, but it's different now. I don't know if it's Thaao or the writing. I love it though, whatever it is.

Moving onto Lucas/Sami/EJ. Everyone knows how I feel about EJ and Sami. I'm praying everyday that these two are endgame, and I really believe that is how it's going to result. Do I feel bad for Lucas and the LUMI fans, I do. It's taken more than 10 years for this couple to make it official and when they finally do, along comes EJ. Sorry about their luck though, lol. EJAMI all the way! :P

I am enjoying the writing for Lucas as of late. He's sticking up for what he believes in, something we haven't seen in a while. I like that he's trying to take control of the situation, all while knowing, in reality, he has no say whatsoever. That is Lucas. He's a fighter and he will scratch, claw and play dirty to win. We're finally starting to see that again.

The one thing I was getting annoyed with (aside from Jeremy and Stephanie, which I will get to later) was that Bo was all about revenging Sami, but it was like John didn't give a damn about what was going on. I undestand that Sami and Bo are related, and true to Bo's character, he would react that way when his family is endangered, but I would have wanted more out of John. They talk about how John raised Sami and blah, blah, blah, I think more could have been expressed from John than what was.

And now onto the worst part about today's show. First off, let me just say that I hate hate hate the way they are writing Stephanie. It's no longer believable if you ask me. No one acts the way she does. This is exactly how Chelsea was being written under Reilly and that was my reaction to her 2 years ago as well. This is so ridiculous. And Shelley Henning is not that great of an actress to pull this role off, the way they are writing her. She comes off as pornstart worthy material. It's horrible.

And then we move onto the introductions of Jeremy Horton and Jett Carver. I'll start with Jett. I like him already. I see some potential between Jett and Chelsea, based on the chemistry alone that Rachel Melvin and Marcus Patrick have. It's there. I saw it. Like Keith, I would have rather they made Jett Rita's son, rather than Theo's but whatever. It's minor. So far, Patrick's not that bad of an actor IMO. We'll see how he does as time goes on.

Onto Jeremy now. H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E. Please recast this charcater immediately. No way in hell would someone like Jett ever be friends with Jeremy. It just doesn't happen. The character is utter trash. I hate him already. He's not the bad boy we love to hate. He's the bad boy we wish was off our screens. They gave too much too soon. I don't know if it's the writing for the character or Trevor Donovan's innability to play what the character calls for. Something isn't right. A recast and re-evaluation of the character is desperately needed.

And has Salem entered the twilight zone and no one told me? Stephanie is now the slut and Chelsea is the voice of reason? Where did I see this before? Oh that's right. Chelsea used to be the slut and Abby was her voice of reason. This is horrible. Stephanie is out of character. Chelsea is out of character. They need to bring Abby back ASAP and hopefully that may correct things. If this is the summer scene I'm supposed to be getting excited for this summer, I'm not. And I had such hope for the teen scene this summer because of Hogan's writing with Nick, Chelsea, Max and Abby. This sucks...

John: Whose that interior decorator again?

Bo: Satan?

John: Yeah, that's him.

PR could have chemistry with a broom, and I hope someone tels Drake that not playing it over the top is the way to go.

Jeremy reminds me of Fred from Scooby Doo--the cartoon version. Only Fred was smarter and had more depth. Jett wasn't too bad; at least he wasn't an obnoxious jerk. I think we're going to see a Chelsea/Jeremy fling sometime this summer--they hated each other so much on sight that you just know fireworks are coming. I agree with everyone else about what a stupid way to introduce a new Horton and Carver.

Tony's crazy, but I love him. Loved his line when Bo talked about Stefano being in a warehouse--"A warehouse? I've got to get him better health insurance." I was ridiculously excited when I saw the Dimera Mansion. It was even nice seeing Bart, and I like that he's funny, as long as they don't make him over the top ridiculous. There's a fine line writing the villains as evil but not cartoonish, with just a little sly humor mixed in (and Thaao can deliver those lines like no other), and so far I think the writers are doing a good job. I just really had fun watching today's show, something that hasn't happened consistently for a long time.

Lucas is beyond ridiculous. He's so busy being jealous and proving he's a man, he refuses to really listen to Sami and take her fears seriously. That will probably come back and bite him on the ass.

First, Lucas hits like a girl. Second, how the heck did he know where to find Sami so quickly? Third, Sami basicaly castrated him into propping him just so he feels like a man. Fourth, Lucas came off pathetic and he can't do tough. Fifth, get Lucas off the screen he is not leading male at all.

Ejami get better and better every day.

Drake should act like he did today. Understated. Wondeful performance.

Peter knocked it out of the park. The battle lines are drawn.

Thaao was off the chain. This is how you write a darker Tony. If this IS Tony.

Even liked seeing Bart's stupid ass. And, also liked the fact that he was slightly darker himself.

Lucas still came off slightly whiny, but it was better than yesterday. Sami should also remember that old adage:

Be careful what you wish for. You may get it. She now has two men in love with her, and both fighting to protect her. Even though EJ's arrogant ass doesn't seem to want to remember that he was the one who started this whole damn thing again in the first place.

The new actors......whatever.

Other than that, a great show. On point. And next week.......

    • Yes, a few months before Wanda De Jesus, actually. Shortly after the Dobsons took over again, Rosa just magically reappeared as if she'd just been offscreen in the Capwell kitchen for the past four years. I just started watching this from the beginning again last year and I will agree with past posts that there really does seem to have been a reboot of sorts in January 1985. To me, it seemed like the four performers who really seemed to set the tone for the new wittier, more sophisticated direction were Nicolas Coster, Louise Sorel, Lane Davies and Judith McConnell.
    • You're right about the potential many of those stories could have had. The execution was more of an issue. Something never clicked for me in Angelique's present-day adventures - some of them I actually found very irritating due to the slanted writing and her voice being overshadowed. It took the Leviathan story for me to enjoy her in that timeline. I wish they had just left Peter/Vicki to the past and used that to inform who Vicki became when she returned, instead of bringing him back.
    • Thanks @slick jones I appreciate the interviews you share.
    • Download isn't working for me either.  With that said, thank you for all the work you have done!
    • @P.J. Well, it wasn't her first award. I am sure she has written books, and spoken at colleges, and gotten some notoriety from it. Most importantly, she is fulfilled. Something Dani is not.  @Paul Raven Exactly, it does not ring true to me. Dani has that big personality because she is masking pain. And she probably clung to Bill because he made her feel smart and important (at one point). There are ways to add more layers to her.
    • Absolutely. And IIRC Rose Alaio has mentioned production having it out for her.
    • That goes back to Chance/Abby-there was way more to explore with their marriage but the first problem that pops up that's pretty much it-moving on. And Kyle/Lola, years worth of story dropped so he can fall back in love with Summer. Sharon/Rey married off with no plans for their future so they kill him off. And so on...
    • All of that would be interesting. Why would JG ever do that?
    • GH 1976 Pt 2 Medical student Bobby Chandler’s bone-marrow test results are in, and Steve Hardy has the difficult task of telling him he has Malenkov’s Disease, a rare and fatal blood disease. Bobby, newly married Samantha, hears his one-year-maximum prognosis and insists that Steve not tell anyone, as he has to have time to work out his own feelings. To cover up the treatments he’ll be starting immediately, Bobby, with Steve, decides to tell his family he has mononucleosis. His wife and his mother, Caroline, accept this story, but attorney Lee Baldwin senses it’s much more and presses Bobby for the truth, then promising to keep Bobby’s secret. Even though Bobby moves into a state of remission, Lee realizes the gravity of the problem and moves his wedding to Caroline forward, assuring Bobby that he will always be there for both Caroline and Sammi. But Bobby’s remission is short-lived, and his symptoms are now more severe, requiring frequent whole-blood transfusions. And a new experimental drug he is taking holds the threat of serious side effects. Sammi learns that Bobby’s attempt to buy life insurance was turned down and, herself a nurse, realizes that his symptoms are more severe than mono. She tries to press Leslie for the truth, but Leslie can’t violate a patient’s confidence. She does, however, pressure Bobby to let Sammi share is with him. Bobby insists that he can’t; he won’t send her into mourning while he’s still there to watch. But Sammi, angry at being treated like a child, presses the issue and manages to find out the truth. She then asks Lee to convince Bobby that his mother must be told so they can all show him the love they have for him before it’s too late and they have only  regrets for what went unsaid. Lee agrees, and after the wedding he protectively tells Caroline the truth. Sammi then tells Bobby that she is pregnant, news that he receives with very mixed emotions. Steve hits an optimistic note when he tells Bobby that a new breakthrough in leukemia chemotherapy may help him in his fight for life. This new treatment calls for more extensive testing, and Steve is overjoyed to find that there has been a variation in Bobby’s condition which indicates that he -doesn’t have Malenkov’s Disease after all. His condition, while serious, can be successfully treated  extensive drug therapy in New York, and Lee quickly arranges for all of them to move there so they can support Bobby during the extensive treatment and long recovery.  Dr. Jim Hobart and his wife, Audrey, are continuing their therapy sessions, trying to decide if they have a future together. Audrey admits she has stayed with Jim only because he needed her while he was drinking, and he in turn admits that he knows Audrey married him not out of love but out of gratitude for saving her son Tommy’s life in surgery. When Jim finally tells Audrey that he created his own alcoholic abyss and blamed her only because she was conveniently close, she wonders what will happen to: her when he recovers. If he doesn’t need her, can she go on? Does she need so much to be needed? When Jim, improving, starts teaching at the local college, he finds his self-image improving. But Audrey, worn out from therapy, suggests that she take a short vacation alone. Jim sees this as a way of undermining his recent strides and is angry. He relates this situation to his recent impotence, caused by his emotional problems. Jim reacts to his own feelings of inadequacy by withdrawing from Audrey, treating her impersonally and coldly. She takes this as an indication of her own failure. But when Jim reacts enthusiastically to one of his students, lovely young Sally Grimes, Audrey questions her own responsibility for the situation and accepts a dinner invitation with Steve Hardy, her first husband. Steve’s reassurance that she’s been a paragon of tolerance is negated when Jim walks in late and showing signs of drinking. When she asks how he could do it, he bitterly replies, “It’s a way to help me escape from you,” and turns and leaves. He goes to Sally’s, where they make love. When Sally later expresses regret at interfering in his marriage, Jim assures her there was nothing left to spoil—his wife is frigid but has blamed their sexual failure on him; thanks to Sally, he now knows he’s not inadequate. Since Sally won’t have an affair with a married man, Jim decides to make the break with Audrey. He bit- _ terly tells her Sally proved to him that he never had a problem—all he needed was a real woman, not one who was all burned out. He scathingly says that she takes men and castrates them; cases in point, her three husbands: Steve Hardy, Tom Baldwin, and himself. Shocked and horribly hurt by his accusations, Audrey swallows sleeping pills but immediately realizes the folly of her actions and tries to get help. Steve, meanwhile, senses something wrong and on a hunch goes to her apartment, where he finds her unconscious. He rushes her to the hospital for treatment, and after sixteen hours she begins to come around. She tearfully repeats Jim’s accusations while still groggy, and Steve reassures her that nothing Jim said was in any way true. As she dozes in the security of his presence, he whispers to her, “There’s a lot of woman in you, there was and there is, my sweet, lovely Audrey.”  Nurse Beth Maynard, despite her frequent pronouncements that she’s immune to emotional involvement, has fallen in love with resident Kyle Bradley. Beth’s sister, Nurse Diana Taylor, feels that Kyle treats Beth as if she were a casual conquest, however, rather than a woman he loves. Kyle’s life is now complicated by the arrival of Nurse Kate Marshall in town. She is staying with her godmother, Jessie Brewer, R.N., while. she recovers from a painful divorce. She and Kyle had an affair a few years ago, and she knows he’s married but keeps his wife “under wraps.” Kyle, in turn, knows that the discovery of Kate’s affair with Dr. John McAllister drove his wife to suicide. Kyle and Kate resume their affair. Despite the fact that Kyle is now living with Beth, Diana has seen enough to convince her that Kyle is deceiving her sister. But Beth won’t believe this, until she sees them embracing herself. When she confronts Kate, Kate bitterly tells Beth everything past and present about herself and Kyle, including the interesting fact that he’s married. Beth, shocked and hurt, throws Kyle out, and Jessie, who overheard Kate’s vindictive diatribe to Beth, arranges her transfer to another hospital.
    • This is so true - the instant love is annoying. Adam/Sally/Billy/Chelsea are the best evidence of why this rings hollow. While I can see Adam/Chelsea reuniting based on a long history and Connor, there's no way Sally would instantly declare love. While Billy is just a desperate soul, Sally would be far more cautious after what happened with Adam. The *real* Sally would not only scheme to get Adam back, but make Chelsea's life difficult. She just got over it and gave up. Please. Instead of insta-love why can't some of these characters more casual? I hope Claire flings with Holden after Kyle falls into Audra's trap. Abby turns to Nate when Devon obsesses over Amanda - even if she's not in town. Lauren turns to Jack during this Michael stress, who in turn lands in Diane's web. We need messy triangles/quads and more.
