April 26, 200718 yr Member The numbers are sure to be a bit wonky this week due to the news coverage of the VT murders last week. I'm betting a lot of the shows had a better week last week -- they could not do worse. It seems that most of them have been rising and falling together lately. I've never really been one to buy into ratings rising and falling based on spoilers. I'm not sure that many people offline pay that much attention to spoilers. Anyway, I'm predicing a better week for all soaps. I can't say why. I always wonder how much of the big ups and downs you see in ratings over time are random error. When you see em drop a point or two over an extended period of time, I think it's a drop. fro instance. OLTL has lost a bunch of daily viewers in the last 18 months. The ups and downs though I wonder about, particularly on dailys.

April 26, 200718 yr Member Let me be the first to say it: DOOL is in a world of hurt. Those DAYS ratings are SHOCKING. Has anyone ever seen a show collapse so quickly with viewers?
April 26, 200718 yr Member Wow....NBC Daytime is going down quicker than Bush's approval rating. CBS soaps are half and half...two of the highest rated soaps, followed by two of the lowest rated soaps. And, as for ABC, the ratings for all their soaps actually look the best....their lowest rated soap this week is right in the very middle of the pack....plus all three of them are back to back to back...
April 26, 200718 yr Member The ABC soaps are evening out again, but a 2.5 isn't great for GH, especially as it prepares for a spinoff on Soapnet - and it still lost viewers from last week. A 2.4 is only par for OLTL, probably because it does look like some movement in the storylines. AMC stayed steady. It may be better than CBS, where everybody lost. NBC has declared itself out of the game, and it shows.
April 26, 200718 yr Member I really hope the return of you know who helps DAYS. Guiding Light has never averaged lower than a 2.0 for a week, so just damn that DAYS has already done that.
April 26, 200718 yr Member DAYS' drop it just too huge. I'm beginning to think that many DAYS viewers are now watching the show on Soapnet now that SN has moved it to 7 PM. DAYS viewers tend to be younger, which is why DAYS has the biggest gain when DVR users are factored in. So I'm thinking these younger viewers know where to find DAYS on cable (Soapnet) more easily, so they're watching it there. And if the Nielsen sample isn't big enough, then the Soapnet ratings for DAYS may be being undercounted. The drop is just too huge to seem realistic at this point, no matter how much a show falters storywise.
April 26, 200718 yr Member How stupid is CBS, please? They showed an encore of B&B on Wednesday and still did include those numbers. Now wonder why it fell below the 3.0 again...
April 26, 200718 yr Member Looks like most AMC viewers were more invested in the trial of Alex Sr, and the aftermath of it, than Krystal and Tad baby Jenny crap
April 26, 200718 yr Member LOL! Oh man! These ratings are getting kind of funny now! They're so pathetic!!
