Dirty Sexy Money: Discussion Thread

So a lot of gossip thinks EW's Ausiello's blind item is about Dirty Sexy Money (other say Terminator or maybe Gossip Girl) what do people think

It's not unusual for a TV series to have at least one bad seed. You know, an actor whose ego is so ginormous it makes mine look like a half-eaten Skittle?

Well, less typical is a show in which all the stars have the disposition of Linda Blair pre-exorcism, but that's the situation over at a certain sophomore drama.

"Each actor is crazier than the next," whispers a staffer employed behind the scenes at the war-torn program. "And they all pretty much hate each other."

And they're finding it increasingly difficult to hide their mutual disdain from viewers. Per my snitch, the male lead "cannot stand" his love interest, "and it's obvious by their complete lack of chemistry."

The good news is, the nightmare may soon be over for all concerned. Although the show enjoys a rabid cult following and solid critical support, its ratings are such that a third season is looking very unlikely.

So, what's the series with the work environment that's so hostile it would make the Roseanne set at its worst seem like paradise? Let the speculation begin in the comments section!

Yeah, I can definitely see the blind item being about DSM. The show has a lot of "big names" and I can all of them having egos. I also bet Peter Krause getting a producer credit this season also might have something to do with it.

Oh well, the show's not on the mid season schedule, so it looks like it's gone. :(

Man, that catfight was lame. I mean, I wasn't expecting a Dynasty knock down drag out, but Karen didn't even get a lick in. And the dialogue was horrid.

"Hey Lisa, I smell trouble, or is that just your perfume?"

Who the f.uck says that?

Yeah, that was a bad line. LOL But I thought, "I'm gonna kick your ass, if I can find it," was pretty funny.

RIP :(

Yes, I'll definitely miss it. Such a great cast, so much potential, but it just didn't quite click.

I'll miss it. I also want to know the answer to the lingering questions. Oh well, RIP.

Such a shame. DSM was better this year IMHO and I was watching it more. Oh well. Gives me more time to watch my Tivo'd soaps, lol.

wow, I am surprised they didn't keep them for the year considering they have so little back up.

Was it you Eric who about a month or so ago when I said DSM and some other "hit" shows including #1 Grays Anatomy were actually in trouble, told me I didn't know what I was talking about? :P

No :P I said that the ratings drop was less significant for DSM than for thos eother shows mentioned--and that's true. ;)

I wonder if we'll actually get the remaining eps

What an incredibly frustrating show? One week it is utter crap (i.e. the last episode aired) and then arrives this episode which was excellent and shows the series still has some spunk and promise. Apparently last week's episode was more of a clip show made up of past material and stuff from the unaired episodes from the first season.

The Wrenn storyline has been incredibly lame. I didn't see the point to it in the last episode and I really didn't see the point to it in this episode. Letiticia came across as a lunatic when she attacked Wrenn. While Leticia is more fun when she is being bitchy, she is more fun when she is justified in her actions. I wish Wrenn admitted she was after Tripp's money and let Leticia's woman's intuition be right. I will say I have no interest in the jealous harpie that Letiticia has become this season. What a bad choice! I felt like Nick was speaking for the audience when he said to Wrenn things weren't working out. Wasn't that the truth!

On the otherhand, I was delighted with Simon/Karen wedding fiasco. As the episode started, I thought it was going to be awful, but as it proceeded it was absolutely amazing. And I never saw it coming that Brian and Andrea would get married though I wish they would have featured this a bit more. I loved Brian and Brian Jr.'s scene shining shoes. You know Brian would have been the kid listening on the phone like his son did. I loved Brian's honesty with Andrea. Andrea's reaction to his "I love you" was great. Everything about Andrea and Brian was amazing.

The Darling Enterprises trade was brilliant. I love how all Tripp's contacts dumped Simon Elder in a minute causing the stock to plummet. LOL. I love how Karen arrived after the wedding was called off. Simon was a jerk to Karen and Karen showed how vulernable she is. Hopefully, now that not only Simon, but Nick, have betrayed her, Karen will make her own play for the company to get back at all the men who she loves that have hurt her: Simon, Nick, and Tripp. I do hope we see more of Simon/Tripp running the company.

I'm beginning to like the Tripp/Nola/Jeremy situation. Delicious stuff. At times, Jeremy is such the overdressed, spoiled male diva that thrive on soap operas. I really liked how Jeremy got the senator to agree to the deal leaving Nola in the cold.

Overall, great episode this week.

This episode was so good. It was great to see Carmalita again. Loved Brian's scenes and that he's back in the church and ready to kick some ass. I wonder if anyone was actually shot other than Ellen's brother.

The screen went to black and then we heard gun shots. What a great cliffhanger!

I love how Jeremy was all "I'm gonna kick Simon's ass" and then when he was actually in the same room as him, he wussed out.

Leaving it open as to who was shot, would have been a really good ending for the series.
