It's time for Ken Coday to suck it up and beg Jim Reilly to come back and create another outlandish, buzz worthy story that will get the entire genre talking about DAYS again. And this time, let Jim Reilly do what Jim Reilly wants. Do not tie his hands again. Let him loose and go crazy.

DAYS needs huge buzz again....a kind of buzz that only the great Jim Reilly can provide.

- buried alive

- Possession

- Serial Killer

What's next?

The return of James E. Reilly to Salem in 2007. :D

The ratings are absolutely atrocious. I feel really bad for Days. The fans are tuning out by the thousands. I never would have imagined this six months ago. I'm glad B&B went up for it's 20th Anniverary episode. I'm truly loving Y&R and B&B right now. Passions is really good now too. I guess viewers don't want to get invested in a cancelled show. I'm going to be loyal for a change and stick with Passions until the end. Theses ratings are so depressing though.

If I was Ken Corday I would beg Jim Reilly to come back and say, "Hey, Jim, here's the show. You have creative control. You can blow the show up, kill whoever you want. Just get my show back up in the ratings. I want that number one spot in the 18-34 and 18-49 ratings again. This time, I won't get in your way like I did in 2004. You got the ratings up and DAYS was the talk of the industry. It was mistake to get in your way. I'm selling my soul to you. Just get my ratings up."

It happens.

Jim Reilly is back in late 2007.

In 2008, JER comes up this crazy ass storyline that makes the SSK look like child's play. Some people are upset and some are excited to watch DAYS again. DAYS is back in the 18-34, 18-49, 12-17 demos and back to #2 in HHs and Total Viewers.

Jeff Zucker is now like, "Well, we can't cancel DAYS now with ratings like this! The ratings are up, the show is profitiable again. Let's renew DAYS for another 2 years!"

:)

All those ratings suck, save Y&R and B&B. GH is one week away from officially losing all their (huge) sweeps gains.

DAYS is free-falling, they should at least try for a month to front-burn KA/PR/DH/DH and see what happens - give it the commercials and all. If that doesn't work, Hogan needs to go because the bleeding ain't stopping. As somebody mentioned, I would have never imagined DAYS in this shape 6 months ago - everybody (including me) was expecting the show to challenge B&B. If it's a money issue they need to admit it and fix it.

I have to agree, Toups.

Corday probably couldn't afford it, but Hogan has the characters DOWN, so I say a JER head writer/Hogan, "co"-head writer (really character writer) would be the dream team.

Hogan, while a good writer, just is NOT a "Days" 'big events' writer. And that's what this show needs.

Out with him in this capacity, Cor-man!

Oh, dear lord, I hate to disagree with the great Toups but no JER back at Days. Days might be bad right now but JER's Days was a thousand times worse.

I also think no matter how high the ratings are, Days is off NBC come 2009.

Last week was nothing special.....good seeing Marlena again, but she was just supporting. We need vets beside Steve and Kayla! I know there are budget problems, and I love Steve and Kayla, but this is getting to be too much......

I am starting to get worried and my positive attitude is starting to fade a little. I am not totally down on Hogan like some, but things are not picking up.

The Shelle story needs to end. Besides the problems with the vets not being shown, this is a big problem. Shelle has been frontburner but it has just been them running around island to island. It was good at first, but now it is boring and needs to end. I'm actually curious as to how this is going to end though.....I hate to say this, but it almost seems like Hogan doesn't know what to do with this story. I know he had plans, but something changed and we also have heard no previews for Shelle ever beyond them going on the run. It's unlikely for him since he has always seemed to at least have plans, but Hogan writes fast paced story and this story has been going on for close to three months!

I don't see why people disagree with this "dream" scenario, Toups.

JER is a PROVEN hit.

Forget "Passions"' cancellation, people.

Remember the '90s, remember the SSK, which brought ratings up to a what, 4.1 high? Even if that was for one day (the high), it shows that he, unlike Hogie, can drive ratings.

There was a rewrite, too, we mustn't forget. And Corday ordered it.

Let Reilly loose on "Days" -- a show with built-in fanbase (again, that squelches the "Passions" argument), and then watch the fireworks -- and Nielsens!

If JER came back with CREATIVE CONTROL it would be like August 2003-April 2004 again, not May 2004-July 2006. I guarantee it. Daily discussion threads would go 4-5 pages long instead of 1 or 2 pages long. DAYS would be exciting to watch again.

Suck it up, Corday, put your ego aside. Sell your soul to the devil.
