I recall reading that Ashley lived in Paris between Shari Shattuck and Eileen Davidson's last return.

What confuses me is where ABBY is. How will Brad and Ashley both be on screen with no mention of what happened to her young daughter? Last we heard she was in Hong Kong with Ashley, Billy and Traci and that was just last week. I hope they don't say she's at some boarding school which just means a SORAS is coming up.

Dusty...Rick wasn't even born at that time, I don't think and even if he was, Rick has only been in Europe for like 2-3 years...and Ashley only left in January from Genoa City and Rick debuted in February so did she stop off for a quick boom boom with little Eric??? Anyway....

I think I remember reading somehwere that Abbie was going to Genoa City, Bradley didn't really want her. LOL!!!

Disagree with whoever thinks Lowder is miscast as Rick.

Rick is the kind of young leading man B&B has needed for years. Tall, handsome, mature, and able to stand his own in scenes with adult counterparts. Never got that impression with Torkildsen, who looked like a little boy in corporate intrigue scenes. The only thing I hate about Lowder is his annoying, girly hair.

Rick/Ashley is promising, especially if Ashley moves onto one of the other Forrester men for a longterm, viable relationship. Can you imagine Eileen's Ahsley and Susan Flannery's Stephanie both fighting over Eric?! Uh...D-R-A-M-A.

And I don't mind that the beds in LA must always be kept warm. At least there's drama!

Leave it up to Brad Bell to screw it up! I wanted to throw up when I read this. Eileen is 20 years older than him and putting Ashley with this character is pointless.

Why not put her with THORNE, a core, mature cast member who needs a love interest? A spoiler for Brooke/Ridge, just anything! Putting her with Rick seems like such a waste.

This one of those VERY rare moments where we couldn't agree more. ;)

I thought this news passed some weeks ago via SOD or so? I've been bummed and heavily pissed ever since.

Ashley versus a twen-dragqueen and a teenage singing model siren. What's not to like about that?

I want Eileen Davidson to fight with Lesli Kay over some male! I'd even take Dante back - but only if he has zero dialogue and the ladies do all the [email protected]#$%^&*]ing eh talking. Or Ashley could have met Deacon somewhere... Endless possibilities but what do we get.

Now THAT would be an insanely fabulous rivalry! Unfortunately Felicia is not an important character to this show and will probably never get another storyline. :( I'm just dreading the day Brad Bell drops her to recurring or Lesli Kay realizes whats going on and leaves.

The only good thing about this is that Rick (and Phoebe) have taken over the entire frickin show so we should be seeing lots of Ashley if thats any indication.

I don't see the problem. I could name about 20 pairings in daytime where the man is 20 years older. Why shouldn't Ashley hook up with a young stud? She's a beautiful sexy woman. I'd take Rick over Victor any day if I were her. It might be pointless if they were going to be in a long term romantic affair, but if they are going to have a short term steamy affair, I'm down with it.

Lowder just plain looks out of place on the show, especially with this hair and makeup. I thought he was great as Brady Black, but in this part, he just looks old and big next to the actress playing Phoebe. And he just doesn't look like a male in the fashion industry. I wonder if he's trying to channel OLTL's Forbes March.

I confess I will have just about the same reaction to Ashley being on B & B as Amber on Y and R, although I have to give Bell credit for picking Davidson up, and Latham for picking up the actress playing Amber. Amber is just out of place on Y and R. Latham may like the brassy hair and attitude, but whenever I see Amber onscreen, I just wish her back to B and B. With ED/Ashley being paired with KL/Rick, I am just gonna be thinking the reverse. Maybe they can work a trade in the future.

I'm a big fan of younger man/older woman pairings, but this isn't one of them. Can you imagine how RIDICULOUS it's going to be to have Ashley Abbott battling 18-but-looks-15 Phoebe for Rick? And Rick is just out of his depth when it comes to Ashley. In order for any younger/older pairing to truly work you have to have common ground and I'm not seeing it with Rick/Phoebe and you know it won't be there with Rick/Ashley.

PLUS it's just such a waste of her talents putting her with Kyle Lowder. Why not use this as a chance to utilize the wasted cast? Stop making it so incestuous and the focus so narrow?

    • Sharon Case, Eileen Davidson, Amelia Heinle, Elizabeth Hendrickson, Melissa Ordway & Melody Thomas Scott so far seem to have re-shot their opening post-#YR50 cast photo and around the time of the gala filming. And I'm feeling as if it is possible both Lauralee Bell, Courtney Hope & Kate Linder's opening shots might have been a re-shoot, as well. I fully think if they had used the typeface from the 2003 opening it would improve it!

    • Is there a subsection of time where quality (writing, production, acting, etc) slumped during what was otherwise a show's strong period. For example, The Wendy Riche era on GH (1993-2001) was especially strong. However there is a decline in quality after 1996 because of increased mob focus and the eventual departures of Brenda, Robin and Johnathan Jackson's Lucky. Some charachters like Tony, Bobby, and Felicia becan slipping into backburner status toward the end of the era.  Y&R was strong from about 1989-2001. There was however an inbetween period of 1994-97 where there felt like some drops in storytelling and production value. The camera work became more ornate after 1995 but the glamour factor especially in wardrobe was lost after 93.
    • I will say the first 7 years are gold especially in terms of production value. Much like Y&R there was a slight quality slump between 1994-97. (In fact all CBS soaps minus Guiding Light maybe faced a alump after 93).  Much like Y&R, 1998-2002 was pretty good IMO.  I'd call it Bold's silver era. Brooke/Thorne/Macy, Brooke/Taylor/Ridge,  Brooke/Deacon/Bridget and Sheila's '02 return are some good storylines from that period. From what I've watched on YT, more trashy, cartoonish and camp than the earlier days of B&B but it's silver compared to today's show. I still need to get into the Rick/Amber/Kimberly/Deacon mess to guve it a solid judgement.
