Sorry if this was posted already. http://victoriarowell.com/home.html

Dear Fans,

THANK YOU for your outpouring of support and outrage over the recent TV Guide (Ellen DeGeneres Cover) remarks by a writer for Daytime. Having submitted myself for consideration for Best Actress, I wish to thank you for your concern over my absence from The Young & Restless pre-Emmy ballot, denying my peers on other daytime programs the opportunity to possibly vote for me in this category. Without question I gave it my all and then some.

My glory is held in equality, merit, fairness, creativity and the pursuit of happiness. Thank you for making my stay on The Young & Restless a great ADVENTURE for me & DRU!!! More importantly, will you do something else for me as a show of your support? It would mean a lot to know that each and every one of my fans, YOU, who have been with me from the beginning in Daytime, Primetime and feature films, owned a copy of my memoir, THE WOMEN WHO RAISED ME, published by HARPERCollins/William Morrow Imprint, available at a BARNES & NOBLE, BOARDERS BOOKS near you APRIL 10th! That would be the best acknowledgement I could ever dream of. Now go get a pen...go ahead, I'm waiting...now MARK your CALENDAR!

Inside you will read about my journey through foster care and how I have been able to navigate New York and HOLLYWOOD - lessons learned from THE WOMEN WHO RAISED ME. You won't be disappointed. Even read a little about my life on a soap opera. Don't forget, APRIL 10TH!!! I will be criss-crossing the nation so check out my web site to see if I am in a town near you. There is a lot on the horizon and I can't wait to see and talk to you all at your local book stores.

Fans like you, money can't buy! For information about the voting practices of the pre-EMMY balloting, write to the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists in Los Angeles or call The Young & Restless at 323.575.4143 or email [email protected]. Who knows, maybe you can make a difference.

See you ALL at BARNES & NOBLE! God Bless,

Victoria Rowell

Wow. I'm not sure if I could call Rowell a Lead(hope that isn't a controversial statement), but I consider her more one than Jeannie Cooper, who has been rocking in her nursing home chair with Esther for the past two years. Rowell had a much better chance of scoring Y&R that Lead Actress nom than Cooper.

I bet every actress was gunning for lead, hence the reason for the shutout(i.e. Sharon Case, Victoria Rowell, Melody Thomas Scott, etc.)

Wow, lots of politics at Y&R!

I feel bad that her co-workers did not vote for her, but to use that sympathy as a way to sell a book is a little absurd.

No offense to her, but that was way off topic. If this was a message to fans about her leaving, thats one thing, but to hawk her book that fans should BUY as a sign of gratitude? Hell no. Thats insane!

I think by rights she should have gotten a nod for Lead. She is a Lead, IMO. She's been on the frontburner for the past 7-8 months.

Her book plug makes me wonder if she also decided to be let out early from her contract on order to promote her book more extensively across the country.

She may not be a Lead actress but the material she received for in the last few months was definetly Lead worthy and she should have been acknowledged....

Plugging her book at the same time was an excellent promotional strategy to garner her sympathy an increase sales.

Great job VR ;)

In the new SOW article, Rowell said she requested that Y&R let her join the writing team and they declined, which is the so-called "real reason I quit." She wanted to showcase her writing talents, they said no and had they said yes she would have never written her book.

    • Eeek. I didn't know this either! I will say, though, even though they skimmed over a lot of Roger's past, I will give them props for not trying to turn him into a hero. Yeah, I was hoping we would get more 1986 episodes than were available on YT before, but now I'm wondering if I really want to see that.
    • That's what Julie Hanan Carruthers is doing for BTG at the new studio in Atlanta, but JHC is credited. And @errol said JHC is working in a nonproduction capacity at Y&R.
    • I remember when the whole Missy Reeves controversy started in 2012.  She tweeted support of a business that had made homophobic statements. Greg Rikaart (who was on Y&R back then) publicly called her out on it, but was willing to reach out and speak with her. Article here: https://greginhollywood.com/greg-rikaart-talks-about-his-twitter-war-with-fellow-soap-star-melissa-reeves-over-anti-gay-chick-fil-a-73139 That being said, ten years later, on DAYS, in 2022, when they had they double wedding of Leo/CraigWesley and Gwen/Xander, Jack and Jennifer came to the wedding.  At that time, Missy Reeves was only intermittently available for DAYS. Jennifer was living "in Boston" and Cady McClain and Missy were each intermittently appearing as Jennifer, on the specific occasions when the show required a Jennifer to appear. Missy wasn't on contract and she could have said no. But she chose to appear as Jennifer for the gay wedding of Greg Rikaart's character.   So... I mean... I would assume they reached a détente behind-the-scenes. Missy still has her belief system but there's that.
    • That was one of the best grandslam finals.  Alcaraz comes all the way back down 2 sets to 0, and three match points in the 3rd set, to win it in a 5th set tie-break.  And the quality of play was excellent - so many great shots.  What a battle!
    • Indeed. I may try to watch it in full sometime, but not anytime soon... Mark played Sean Baxter for a few episodes when Courtney married Andy. Burke was either on Broadway or at OLTL at that time, I suppose.
    • Well, Josh was a horndog. LOL Yep. It was one of the first really weird things Reva did with her PPD. She became obsessed with the idea that Dylan and Sam should get married. Sam was only 17, and needed her parent's permission. Reva helped them leave town so they could go to a neighboring state where Sam was old enough. Ross, Billy and Josh stopped them, then Sam went to India to try and persaude Justin. Reva followed her and didn't tell Josh she was going. While Reva was gone, Josh advertised for nannies, and Harley applied. He ended up hiring someone else. But when Reva returned, she hired Harley because (in her weird mental state) she wanted someone she could trust with the kids (because she feared Josh was trying to get rid of her and that Vanessa wanted the children.). After Reva starts treatment, she asks Harley to stay until she's stronger because she's good with the kids. At the party, Reva starts going off the rails, insulting Justin and Josh hauls her to a private dining room to ask WTF. Reva starts confronting him about the "affair" with Vanessa, and he realizes she is weird. He locks her in the dining room and frees Mindy and Van from the ladies room (where Reva has locked them in). Van starts telling him that Reva attacked her and needs help.  Reva escapes out the window of the dining room and goes back to the party, climbs onto a table and starts a striptease. Josh gets her to stop, takes her home and after filling Ed in, decides to go to the doctor the next day. Reva then takes off and spends days running around town, coming on to a guy she thinks is Billy, Billy, Hamp, Frank and Roger.  Roger takes her to his apartment and takes nude pictures of her, which he tries to blackmail Billy with. He wants the deed to the land the Towers is on in exchange for them. (Billy had been left the deed by a sweet old lady who lost her home in the 5th street fire. Roger had stolen the deed from her before she died. After Roger took those pics of Reva, she saw him hide them, and took an envelope from the hiding place. She didn't realize she'd taken the deed and not the pictures.)  Anyway, Billy and Vanessa trick Roger into burning the pictures, claim the deed and at the Towers opening reveal that Billy owns the land and therefore the Towers. That's what led to Roger and Alex's breakup and Roger and Mindy's affair. Mark Lewis was on ATWT? 1986 is not a good year, storywise. No bueno. Muy no bueno.
    • All the time they spent trying to make viewers feel sorry for Chad only for him to not even last that long. I wonder if they knew Richard Burgi was going so quickly. You're right about Josie replacing Cheryl. On paper, this should have made sense, given all the ties Josie had to the canvas, but I did prefer Cheryl. There was something very synthetic about Alexandra Wilson.  I suppose even if she did have some fans they were just so used to getting rid of people left and right, so she was more collateral damage. As you said above I do wonder what the plans were for Peggy Lazarus. I think AWHP mentioned her once telling Peter that Peggy Lazarus wasn't her real name. Maybe she would have been another Carl moll... Rebecca Hollen never did get her due in her soap roles.
    • So true...Hackney might have had a story on FC with Richard being an old lover of his, but reveals herself to be a Cartel member and blackmails Richard with something into doing her dirty work  LOL. But of course Richard had his hands full with the double trouble sisters Ms. Jones and Ms. Braxton that season.
